It's so sad that adopting a dog in Canada is sooo difficult! and so expensive! I tried 2 times on getting a cocker spaniel but the SPCA didnt allowed me cause my backyard ''wasnt big enough'' for him. And even so, they say the dog would be souffering from stress because i got a 7 year old sister...... What a lame excuse! for the same price I was going to pay for the cocker in the shelter, I got an english cocker certified, from a dog farm.

I had adopted a scottie that was beaten and she shook like that too, she was always so afraid. It broke my heart. Now she is much more open to people, we named her Eevee (like the pokemon LOL) her previous owners name her Evelyn (who names a dog Evelyn??)
