  • When you train for olympic lifts you usually have your sets at 1 to 3 or 4 reps. Maybe sometimes higher with lighter weight usually. Bulgarian lifters have entire workouts with a few sets at 2 reps and most of them at 1.

  • This makes me nervous just watching it. Looks like its a good way to decapitate yourself lol

  • good shit keep it up

  • When you train for these types of olympic style lifts....do you always train at a high percentage ..trying to beat your previous? or is there rep type schemes to follow? Just curious as I myself have never done olympic type weight training.

  • Nice!! I can't even squat 135 ):

I did 110 today and I felt proud lmao.

  • can you touch rim???

  • dude thats nasttyyy!

  • why is there so many dam plates for only 253?

  • @Crapencris61 theyre rubber bumper plates, designed so that you can drop the weight. Theyre mostly used in olympic lifting and crossfit (which has olympic lifting incorporated into it). When you do deadlifts, snatches, cleans or any other exercise where the weight starts on the ground the bar stays in the same position regardless of the weight, and when it's dropped like in this video, they wont ruin your barbell (or make you look like a complete jackass for dropping 253 pounds on the gym floor)

  • @Crapencris61 ...bumper plates

  • HES WHITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome. i can do the first part.....

  • I think this makes you the strongest person on youtube

  • what's your body weight? you look fairly lean making it all the more impressive.

  • wooo!! damn

  • NO no no no no!!!Its an illusion.Fuck why do i even bother going to the gym.Fuck that is insanity!!!

  • Nice... when it gets that heavy just jerking it up is a task in itself!

  • woo!

  • sick bro!!

  • Well done man. Very nice depth!

  • egoplates

  • Solid

  • That is incredible ! One of the hardest lifts there is...

  • LOL - I can back squat 505lbs but can't even overhead squat the bar. Great job!

  • @Shrawty You mean you can unrack 505lbs and "squat" 5 inches.

  • @cooltoon666 - No I break parallel by about 3 inches. My coach used to say that I went needlessly low. I used to compete when I was in my twenties.

  • @Shrawty work on your shouler ROM thats the main prob that people have with overhead squats

  • Horrible jerk though

  • i did a snatch grip push press and hurt my shoulder, how do you perform the snatch grip jerk safely?

  • Whaaat?! I wouldn't even be able to hold it overhead let alone squat it down. Nicely done

  • When i OHS, when i get deep i can't stop my weight from shifting onto the inside of my feet. Too tight abductors? Any help would be appreciated

  • impressive for a skinny guy!

  • wtf that looks like a solid 400 lbs??

haha like 20 lb plates.. but legit

  • thats fucking crazzy!!!!!

  • Damm,, I Saw The Muscles In His Thigh Before He Started To Lift

  • 1 person failed in an attempt of doing so. LMFAO. Great job man!

  • are they like 25lb plates??

  • Very impressive. Woooh!

  • hats off to that

  • Awesome!

  • i wish i had weights i could just throw down.. i go to crappy YMCA commerical gym. what are those plates called guys?

  • You know what....at first I thought 'that's shit form' and then I realised the weight you had on there and what you were doing. Holy shit man.....that's beautiful. Keep up the work fella!

  • you gotta be a rugby player, and if you arent start playing... now

  • Niiice

  • great squat!!

  • wow nice

  • Good work fella

  • Nice lift. Paxapunch, just what exactly would a spotter be able to do, besides running the hell out of the way? There's no safe way to spot this lift. You need to know how to (and have room for) bailing at any time during this lift.

  • i heard the shoulder blades shud be sqweezed together while the bar is overhead

  • @collwatt The term I hear is "active shoulders", and it's been described to me as getting your shoulders up and in a locked position. Basically your arms shoule be straight and your shoulders should be up, tight, and locked. If your shoulders are not active, then you are gonna be using a lot of arms to support any weight and you will fight fatigue..

    Yesterday I PR'd my OHS at 58 kg (127.8 lbs) it's a rough lift.

  • @Breeegz it's more about the scapula retraction really rather than the shoulders shrugged up. Easiest way to think figure it out - imagine you have to hold a quarter with your shoulder blades squeezed. That's scapula retraction.

  • @Breeegz , im still trying to maintain balance with a bar olympic bar, i need to to progress to snatches

  • epic

  • KILLER BUDDY!!

  • NICE i'm only at like a 160 max for overhead squat that's crazy!! lol next time have a spotter anything can happen with that lift

  • gj that was nicely done.

  • Christ this guy is strong as hell. Those overhead squats are killer

  • nice

  • Damn.... nicely done sir, nicely done

  • you shoulf probably wear a belt

  • Great power, man. I can barely do 70 kg.

  • Pretty nice lift man!

  • Comment removed

  • fuck me good effort and a shitload of weight. just curious how long have u been OH-squatting for??

  • any tips on how to improve flexibility to do overhead squats and sots presses bro? I been trying to do them with kettlebells but like i said my flexibility is just not up to par

  • That was great! Your legs kind of buckled inward towards the end, but that's a shit-ton of a weight to put over your head. Awesome.

  • that was shit hot bro are you pretty strong in your deadlift squat snatch how much do you weigh

  • damned impressive!!!! i bet you have a high vertical jump!

  • not really. 18-20 inches depending on how sore I am.

  • @eco1og This sort of training doesn't give you a good vertical. You need to look up 'the rate of force development' which is much more important. 1st get the muscle strong, then make it react faster!

  • I hate over head squats...i hate them!!!

  • ouai genre

  • damn boy you overhead squat more than I can do in a regular one

  • Magical-so effortless, the weights seemed almost like paper machete or something: the man is powerful.

  • well done mate!!! fantastic effort...

  • very very nice

  • Wow man that's impressive.

Nice throw at the end too :)

  • Not the best form but damn, overhead squatting that much weight who cares :) Great work

  • His knees do.

    But great work, anyways!

  • i do squats rarely

they get ur pressure point to much i almost passed out

  • pretty good;) looked like it was 400 lbs though:P

  • oversized rubber weights

  • Bumper plates. They're standard size - 17.7 inches in diameter.

  • @eco1og - Impressive weights Bro!

@ carbiduis - those are olympic weights & i think, eco1og is doing CROSSFIT that's why he can lift impressive weights.

  • @JohnnybACF And the hundreds of olympic weightlifters that Snatch that who don't do crossfit? What is the explanation there? Crossfit does not inherently make you strong added side work in addition to crossfit will though. Watch your Kool-aid intake homeslice.

  • very good!!

  • Nice lift. Keep posting the videos as motivation for the rest of us!

  • that was sweet, next time try a bigger set and you'll have your own fan club =P o wait you already do T_T lol keep up the good work man your an inspiration

  • I just squatted 275 overhead. :D

  • just awesome mate, awesome

  • holy stinkin' crap
