  • I love your lessons, thank you sooo much for making them!

  • why do you post such GARBAGE?!??! <<<<This is a comment I say to a lot of people... Expessially people who don't give clear instructions, and/or guides. Here I can say you have made your instructions 110% clear!!! Good job on your instructions, and if only I got more money, I would make you a personal donation!!!!

    AMAZING JOB!!!!

I really hope more people would understand how much effort it takes to figure out, and understand enough about making knots, that they could make a tutorial for it!

  • Thank you for the instructions.

I appreciate all your knotting videos

    All the best!!

  • that has to be the most complicated knot i have ever tried to tie...it dont help in the pdf i cant see which is suposed to go under and what is suposed to go over. i would love to see a video on how to do it.

  • I saw the link

but I'm a bit confused with the first few steps

it's kinda hard to see which string is over and under

    can you reply, ty

  • Thank-You for the lessons. They'll come in handy alot.

  • Thanks for your effort. My Question is: "How to watch the full video on how to tie your various suggestions"?

  • It's a great video and I'm a subscriber but I only have access through a mobile. Is there any other way I could get the PDF? Cheers in advance. Kit

  • @78blondejokes - Simply click the special link referenced in the video (in the video description).

  • One more subscriber, coming up!

  • I don't see the link for the explanation!! where is it? I loveee this knot!!

  • WOW! Awesome!!!! thanks! I WILL try this :-)

  • Where is the link?

  • @IceWiz101 - At the top of the video description above.

  • @IceWiz101 thats same thing i said

  • This knot could probably be extended in one or both directions.

  • Hey! I've been watching your videos for a while now, and love your creative ideas! Do you think it would be possible to turn this into a strap (as in a bracelet) by just making it longer?

  • By any chance would you happen to know how to do a chotki knot, also known as a prayer chord?

The other videos out there are terrible, or are in Greek, Russian and something else.

If you've put instructions in any of your books, kindly tell me which and I'll order it ASAP.

    Thanks.

  • Hi JD TAIT,

thanks for such a wonderful and clear explanation..

I've tried this twice.. but I'm having problem with taking in the slack..

I'm about half Buddhist.. so I'll get it.. I might be slow.. but determine..

once again thanks for sharing this beautiful knot..

  • wow JD I'm glad I came across your video, you have an amazing talent for this type of art and it is an art to me, cause you don't see the cord as a string but a flower bud thats waiting for a hand to help it blossom. Thank you for this opportunity to make something so plain and boring into an amazing piece of art to show.

  • How long is the string supposed be (for a regular sized knot)?

  • @xXHaname

    ...

Start with a 10 foot long length of 1/4 inch solid braid nylon - this should be more than enough.

  • I was at this bookstore and saw this accessory/pattern? to make this knot. It was interesting to look at because one just needs to follow the numbers on the patterns and then tighten when finished. Regardless, I'll challenge myself to make this not without it. :)

  • Dear JD, I have just learned to tie this knot from a korean knot book, knot craft, Kim Sang Lan, it is a chysantumum knot, and with help from seesaw on youtube I learnet to tie it in hand, cheers Kevan

  • no thank you !!!

  • i love your instructions, they were very clear, i just can't get past step 15 though

  • Having read many books on Knots, I thank you for your clear and comprehensive details on Knots and there procedures

I look forward to your Book "Decorative Fusion Knots" and future Knot illustrations

  • Great instructions, thanks for taking the time and effort to make them so clearly :)

  • hey JD,

    Just re-visited my PDF download.

(I recently purchased some 1/4 inch cord, instead of just using paracord)

    I completed it first time!!!!

I don't see what all the fuss is about.... using your instructions and images i had no issues at all...:D

    Thanks again my friend

  • Thanks J.D., you possess knotty beauty indeed...having enjoyed and used the Ashley book for decades, you bring those pages literly alive with artistic and musical beauty.

  • Such a beautiful knot, and your explanation of it is superb, What is the best book I can purchase for knot tying, and do you have a book out?

  • The Ashley Book of Knots is the best overall book for learning how to tie knots. My book ("Decorative Fusion Knots") will be available later this year.

    Thanks,

    JD ~ TIAT

  • @TyingItAllTogether that book cost $60

  • The best part about your tutorials is, you keep it open..

I never heard that "possessive" note..

I love your explanations as well as the ground work which you do in research and presentation.

    Congratulations, way to go! :)

  • That's doubly cool!

First, because I was thinking last year of contacting you to request this. (...but didn't need to in the end, because I worked it out using a square of cardboard as a former, with two slots cut into each side. That kept the upper and lower sections apart. I never thought of putting the upper/lower crossings out of line with each other and *then* twisting as in your step 15.)

Second, because I still didn't know its name, until now. :-)

  • I know this is asking a lot... But is it possible for you to try to create a video of the directions...? pretty please with a cherry on top? :))

  • "Thank you and keep tying" Ha :) I liked that phrase (; thanks for the special link! <3

  • i wish i could express my thanks for all your work as eloquently as you present your videos.

  • Great instructions man. Although snugging this thing up made me want to chuck it across the room, it turned out nice.

  • I once ran down a steep forested trail at night. Only the faint glow of moonlight assisted my footing, which was effectively a thin strip of gray earth boarded by darkness. As I ran I thought to myself, sometimes in life we have to rush through darkness and trust theres a path before us.

For trusting that path, I was able to see a friend before she left for the Peace Corps.

For trusting my instructions, you get the satisfaction of having completed a really cool knot. (smile)

    JD ~ TIAT

But I don't think I can do it.
