Brilliant video, great music. Made me shed a tear for the lost Malta buses. I went to Malta in December and must say with the new buses I could be in any city in the world. Malta has lost a star tourist attraction, those in charge made a grave mistake. That and Tigne point shopping centre in place of the old fort. Why do the Maltese authorities seem hell bent on destroying their colonial heritage. Building after building topples for characterless tower blocks, hotels and shops.

thx for posting this vid, I'm Maltese aussie born, I've never been to Malta but seeing this vid and hearing the music you chose has given me a feeling as though I've been there. My late father used to live in Marsa and came here to Australia in 1958 on the Scaubru which sank, he used to talk about Malta being his birth country and would tell me stories about travelling on the buses and the fun the people of the time would have, if the buses are scrapped Malta will never be the same.

i live in Malta and ride 4 buses a day to go to school and back home.. usually i will also ride them in the weekend to go out.. i should say that i like the old vintage look of these buses and i like it when i get onto one of them.. maybe your complaints should go the how the buses are manged from the authorities not the buses them selves... however the system will also change by next year and hopefully it will get better... i also wish they keep a lot of those vintage buses

A lot of these buses to my eyes are works of visual art and should be preserved. I noticed a few of the follow the lines of 50's cars..............I picked a 59 chev and a 60 lincoln contentinental in two of them..........great stuff. :)

No, never been abroad sadly.

I know you never did, but that's what the Gov intends to do once the new proposed reform takes place. Arrangements have already been done to scrap them. The buses are privately owned in most cases by their own drivers, and in my opinion its not fair that the Gov is forcing them to scrap their vehicles. Its like someone forces you to scrap your car, or something that you like most.

I couldnt agree more these buses are nostalgic preserve them for rallies or a transport museum just not in public service they dont fit the bill anymore. I have just returned from St Julians and have been to Malta many times work and pleasure, the tourists all think the buses are great for the first two days then the view changes after taking a trip for 50 minutes on one. People complained over and over about loosing the Route master bus in London no one misses it now.

I think we should agree to disagree, obviously modernisation is not your bag, everyone and everything has to retire sometime, sad but true. People road around on horse and cart once but you dont see them now, well only when we take the queen out for a quick spin once a year.

That's the point! These buses are heritage that don't have to be lost! Some of them date even from the 30s and are maintained in mint condition, tough I don't deny that there are numbers of them that are in a desperate condition. A bus is not dirty or not well maintained just because it emits black smoke.

Nice photos of Malta buses mate. Like the music too. Music industry now know that people that hear music on youtube and like it often buy the music, so it is free advertising. In the last year I bought 2 CDs cause I heard 1 track from each CD on youtube.

Yes I guess I overdone it a bit with the white fading, that's just to give it a more dreamy/ nostalgic effect.

Note when it fades to black is to give it the feeling of "death" of the bus.
