this is a temporary ghetto fix. Eventually, your drive will completely fail. What you need to do is go on EBAY and buy a new drive on ebay for around $30 and install it. Some drives will allow you to just switch the drives boards from bad drive to new drive and some you will have to use a program called jungelflasher to switch the information from one drive to the other. It is really quite easy and will only cost $30 opposed to having microsoft do it for $120. And while your at it you

......you're at it you can put modded firmware called ixtreme (LT 1.9) on to your drive which is very similar to to the process of switching the drives and that will allow you to play games downloaded off of the interwebs. I was a complete newb and found the process so easy a caveman could do it! Stop giving your hard money to microsuck until they decide to not put out shit hardware.

it's really easy to take apart and fix most of the time the disk drive is just dirty ive fixed many the dust gets hard somehow and you need to open it to get that stuff off

Guys, if this happened just now in the last months, is because of updates.... the Xbox 360 120gb elite and the white one have some major incompatibility for the Dvd Drive and does not spin it ... to make sure this is what you have put the disk in the straight position and see how much it moves, it should move it just a bit and it is because it has no spin and it does not detect it ... the only way is to open it up and take the dust off and clean the laser or get a new DVD DRIVE (20 pounds / 30$

1. Take disc out

2. Open tray close tray do that about 3-4 times just make sure you dont do it to fast

Don't do this. It will scratch your disk.

Instead, take the disk out, and do the same as this video WHILE hitting the top of the XBox. Don't hit too hard though, and make sure the tray is closed.
