My point is that his production does not sound like the hungry, organic and raw 9th Wonder that was on The Listening. You can tell he made it on his computer with no pro equipment, the way his beats were EQ'd, the way his snares hit, the way he chopped his sample into 10 half a second intervals to make a entirely different melody than the original sample.

Not to many R&B singers are looking for poorly mixed beats. That's more suitable for certain rappers. I love that dusty grimy shyt too but 9th's just showing his versatility. I'm sure he can still result to his old eq when underground rappers request it. He has access to better studios and knowledegable engineers as well as his knowledge is expanding. Its called growth as an artist. Check out Khrysis recent production. Its cleaner too.
