One hilarious proof of that is that in all the various supposed holy bibles, yahweh (who christians say is the only god) talks about other gods and even names at least 1 (Baal). @ChainX Untrue. Its not my baggage. An ex-christian who watched this video told me that he started asking "Which god?" to christians, and he said that it has had a big impact. You've missed the point of my comment entirely. My point was that it is not a trick question. I have no idea how you've come to this conclusion. People who ask about "God" are referring to the Judeo-Christian deity. Someone who is asking about Allah, is going to ask "Do you believe in Allah." There is no trick involved.

Most think Yaweh is God so it kinda doesn't matter imho. I agree there are many slices to the theological debate...often times it's a matter of defining WHAT a god is or is supposed to be in the 1st place.

I am making vids such as this for those who never realized that "Do you beleive in god" is a loaded question. I am working with someone who has a lot of experience talking "from within" to start an atheistic sect of xtianity (that is about as inside as it gets) and he has found asking "Which god?" to be very powerful. Answering these questions knowing they may be loaded is of no concern becuz they can be further explained if necessary. As I've said before at another of your vids, I have been known to get into their myth with them in order to debunk it. When dealing with people who have hallucinations, sometimes you must appear to believe them in order to dispell them. There are many ways an Atheist can argue any so-called validity of Theism and 1 is from within the mythos itself.
Sometimes you must use theistic words when arguing with Theists and allowing them to ask loaded questions isn't always an allowance but rather what Theists do! Sometimes that works in the Atheists favor. I don't steal was my answer to that question.

There is a fundamental reason that I adopt the xtian terminology and worldview when discussing it with an xtian. They aren't my debating opponent. They are my audience. Rather than letting large, well organized points fall on deaf ears, I have found it better to suspend my disbelief and take on the POV of an xtian, fisacrifice a bit of ground and gradually evolve their ideology in small doses. @blackadm In some casesyou can be subtle enough, and I think you've discovered, that you are simply assumed to be a xtian. While that may give validity to the worldview in general, you get your foot in the door where you otherwise may be ignored.
Sometimes it's nice to call bullshit, but I generally only do that after it is determined that the person doesn't care about logic, evidence, ect. and are aggressive about pushing their own worldview.

I totally buy that it is often optimal to give up some ground to establish a genuine dialog then chip away. But I dont see that as the reason that most Atheists are not reacting to the language of xtians, I think most are unaware that they are inadvertently giving credibility to xtianity as so well stated by Dawkins re debating creationists

There's a video called "let's stop appropriating Jesus" and it makes valid points about throwing hypocrisy in xtian's faces by saying things like "oh, how christian of you" when they are nasty. It validates not only that Jesus exists but affirms that he is the standard to thrive for. That's the price of being reactive and led by emotions. Internally, yes, we naturally should be angry when threatened with hell, but externally xtians see that as fear/confirmation.
Actually answering "No" would have been accurate too. There is a third option, "No - I have not stopped stealing because I never did steal". Stopping would be impossible. The no answe doesn't need to mean that you're currently stealing anything.
@Gunnariffic You are 100% correct but the issue is IMPLICATION. "No" implies you are still stealing even though it COULD mean you never did. Your explanation "Cuz I never did steal" avoids the trap. If you only say "No" most people will assume your a thief. "Do you believe in god" is a difft trap so when people say "No" to that question it is as if they agree with the implication that the only answers are "yahweh" or "not yahweh". So others assume it is ok to equate yahweh to god. Thats bad.

One hilarious proof of that is that in all the various supposed holy bibles, yahweh (who christians say is the only god) talks about other gods and even names at least 1 (Baal). @wideosvatcher 2000 yrs of failure doing the same things over and over is why I created a "meta_Atheism" channel - so we can find different ways of engaging that will be more effective. Most think Yaweh is God so it kinda doesn't matter imho. I agree there are many slices to the theological debate...often times it's a matter of defining WHAT a god is or is supposed to be in the 1st place.

By equating Yahweh with god, you effectively wipe out the possibility of a Deist position, or the possibility that a god is not all knowing or all loving or all powerful. They think the choice is "Yahweh or No god(s)". It is a false dichotomy that they are not aware of, and if you accept their dichotomy that makes it harder to argue against them

There are plenty of gods out there that Theists can choose from & believe in as thee only god. Obviously, this will disagree with a Deist's position but I don't see the issue here. Theists think MANY things that r untrue.

Yahweh is in their Bible so if they think Yahweh is god...at least, I can say that maybe THAT theist read some of It! A person belieiving in the immorality of this doctrine is far more concerning to me thenworrying about the position of Deism.

Arguing from within the myth is a strong argument becuz it leaves the Theist realizing that proving the literal truth of the Bible and it's God is irrelevant. IS this god WORTHY of worship is the more crucial and stabile point here.

@julzabro As usual, you are right in most of what you say (imho), but you obviously are aware that you are "arguing from within". I am making vids such as this for those who never realized that "Do you beleive in god" is a loaded question. I am working with someone who has a lot of experience talking "from within" to start an atheistic sect of xtianity (that is about as inside as it gets) and he has found asking "Which god?" to be very powerful. Answering these questions knowing they may be loaded is of no concern becuz they can be further explained if necessary. As I've said before at another of your vids, I have been known to get into their myth with them in order to debunk it. When dealing with people who have hallucinations, sometimes you must appear to believe them in order to dispell them. There are many ways an Atheist can argue any so-called validity of Theism and 1 is from within the mythos itself.

Sometimes you must use theistic words when arguing with Theists and allowing them to ask loaded questions isn't always an allowance but rather what Theists do! Sometimes that works in the Atheists favor. I don't steal was my answer to that question.

What's the relevance of this video? Who cares about stupid little words. Words aren't facts; atheists aren't concerned with terminologies, we're concerned with facts. God just means a deity, in our culture it is used to refer to the Judeo-Christian God, but people define God the way they want.

@mattdd05 If your concerned with facts & not perception, youre naive. The expression "Perception IS reality" exists for a number of very impt reasons. Further, facts MUST be communicated by words. If the words give the wrong impression, they trump the facts. You make my point when you say "people define God..." you capitalized it. Why? xtians do that out of respect for yahweh & they got you doing it too. you didnt pluralize it another deference to yahweh. Why do you do their bidding? Crazy!

If I don't capitalize it, or use the words "god or gods", Christians think, "oh he's talking about the roman/greek gods, not my God, with a capital G. He's the real God. That's why they capitalized his name.

Im trying to show that theres a cost to respecting their fantasy (the New Atheists don't indulge the yahwehite BS, and its a large part of the reason that, after 1000s of years, Atheism is finally making progress). @Greggah Thx for the comment, but you are way oversimplifying.Atheist can mean a # of things, but to say its not a belief in god is inaccurate, the definition I think you meant was that atheists dont believe in ANY gods. Also there are no followers of "christianity" There are, as you say "a lot of very different people under that roof." Amish, Mormon, etc. In both cases the people under each roof share many similarities. All atheist share a logic based word view in that way they are NOT difft.

@Holznagle You are utterly completely correct. This is an educational problem. we teach kids the mechanics of "writing" (how to spell words, what the parts of speech are etc) NOT how to communicate. In my curriculum, communication is the focus, not grammer. I am working on this sort of educational change, but I single out Atheists here cuz they should know better. They are making sound arguments, but those arguments are being undermined by linguistics and I am trying to show them that. Thx

There is a fundamental reason that I adopt the xtian terminology and worldview when discussing it with an xtian. They aren't my debating opponent. They are my audience. Rather than letting large, well organized points fall on deaf ears, I have found it better to suspend my disbelief and take on the POV of an xtian, fisacrifice a bit of ground and gradually evolve their ideology in small doses. Completely demolishing them just sends them hiding or frantically quotemining scripture. CONTINUED...

@blackadm In some casesyou can be subtle enough, and I think you've discovered, that you are simply assumed to be a xtian. While that may give validity to the worldview in general, you get your foot in the door where you otherwise may be ignored.
Sometimes it's nice to call bullshit, but I generally only do that after it is determined that the person doesn't care about logic, evidence, ect. and are aggressive about pushing their own worldview.

@blackadm You continue to impress. Taking the POV of the xtian is arguably the thrust of my "Christianity is better than Atheism (to create Atheists)". I totally buy that it is often optimal to give up some ground to establish a genuine dialog then chip away. But I dont see that as the reason that most Atheists are not reacting to the language of xtians, I think most are unaware that they are inadvertently giving credibility to xtianity as so well stated by Dawkins re debating creationists

There's a video called "let's stop appropriating Jesus" and it makes valid points about throwing hypocrisy in xtian's faces by saying things like "oh, how christian of you" when they are nasty. It validates not only that Jesus exists but affirms that he is the standard to thrive for. That's the price of being reactive and led by emotions. Internally, yes, we naturally should be angry when threatened with hell, but externally xtians see that as fear/confirmation.

Actually answering "No" would have been accurate too. There is a third option, "No - I have not stopped stealing because I never did steal". Stopping would be impossible. The no answe doesn't need to mean that you're currently stealing anything.

@Gunnariffic You are 100% correct but the issue is IMPLICATION. "No" implies you are still stealing even though it COULD mean you never did. Your explanation "Cuz I never did steal" avoids the trap. If you only say "No" most people will assume your a thief. "Do you believe in god" is a difft trap so when people say "No" to that question it is as if they agree with the implication that the only answers are "yahweh" or "not yahweh". So others assume it is ok to equate yahweh to god. Thats bad.
