What numbers? The US lost 50k troops, over 2 million vietnamese were killed. Vietnam population back during that war was greater then 2 million. The vietcong worked for the north vietnamese, they were completely funded and supplied by the north vietnamese army(NVA). After the tet offensive in 1968 the NVA did pretty much all the fighting because the vietcong were destroyed. Even the NVA general in his book said the vietcong were useless after the tet offensive

What numbers? The US lost 50k troops, over 2 million vietnamese were killed. Vietnam population back during that war was greater then 2 million. The vietcong worked for the north vietnamese, they were completely funded and supplied by the north vietnamese army(NVA). After the tet offensive in 1968 the NVA did pretty much all the fighting because the vietcong were destroyed. Even the NVA general in his book said the vietcong were useless after the tet offensive

guys guys guys, right, not1 wuld ever kill children women etc etc. but , ther it was diffrent, vietcong didnt wear uniform so every1 looked the same. u didnt know who was enemy or not. u couldnt comunicate or anything which made it scary, u never know wat the people are thinking, ther was alot of pressure on those soldiers, they are pure guilty not but ther was still alot of pressure on em and it wasnt easy to handle...im not defendin any side, im just expressing myself

shooting children just incase they are vietcong in disguise? cutting peoples heads off just because they were stressed that they had only found civillians? ok if they were getting shot back at then it would be understandable that they shot people as they wouldnt know who was who but considering no one shot at them they knew that they werent vietcong fighters... this documentary shows that the soldiers knew that they were civillians.

Actually, some of the viet children were trained to stab US soldiers when they turned their backs.
Not saying what they did was right, it clearly wasnt, but anyone could have been an enemy out there and you wouldn't have known.

This documentary clearly shows that there was no attack, ambush, or anything when the soldiers walked into My Lai, although kids were trained to stab soldiers or whatever, it is clearly shown that no kids did that in My Lai so your statement doesn't make sense when posted onto this video

i am a royal marine i am not pround off is this we were on patrol afganistan and we came under fire from a building we were pined down in this countyard and takeing fire from RPGS and AK47 we then called in a air strike because a lot of our mates were dieing after we went in to the building and the top floor was full of taliban and on the ground floor it was full of kids we called a air strike on a school but we did not know it was a school i not proud of it but i would do it again

I agree that those 'heroes' of my lai were truly cowards, you say "a soldier goes what he is told to" and about orders, but surely noone can be brainwashed into doing things that atrocious and still make the excuse of "following orders", conscience must overrule following the crowd, and thankfully those actions of Hugh Thompson prove there is some good in the world. Hugh Thompson and Lawrence Colburn are the true heroes of my lai, and deserve to be regognised instead of these murderers.
