This is hot, and that pilot has some proper skills to be sure. Flying like that as close to the ground as he was is very dangerous.

The car is the obvious win though, having ground traction. What's amazing is that the helicopter could corner as well as it did and give him a run for the money. Good show.

This is an unfair race. Why not go in a straight line? The chopper will always win because in the air you can travel directly to your destination in a straight line, as where a car has to follow the roads.

Well when it comes to racing, I'll take Tiff over Top Gear. I love Top Gear, but Tiff has raced F1 and even for Porsche at events such as Le Mans and others. I'm sure Tiff knows what he is doing, especially in a Porsche.

Wrong, I myself am a helicopter pilot, and i know for a fact that you can fly without using the controls for over 3 MINUTES (not SECONDS), also, just for the record, if a helicopters engine fails it will not fall out of the sky, helicopters can auto-rotate (like gliding) land in a confined space with no forward speed and not crash, most chopper crashes are because of pilot fault low to the groud, powerlines are the main threat. apart from that good pilot skill.

Hi guys and thanks for the comments. I am the pilot in this film and have to let the truth out, I was taking 10 seconds a lap off Tiff, it's a fix. and I have asked them to correct the film but to no avail.

This was a days work in 30kt winds and the finish is one of many starts we filmed.

The filming was done in March 2004.

Oh and I was in the Army NOT the Air Force.

They should have used a MD500, although the gazelle is faster thye MD500 is more agile and would probably have fared a bit better. Still a really cool comparison though... camerawork wasn't great though.

Excelentes pilotos!! El piloto del Porsche es muy bueno, porque una cosa es correr solo y otra correr bajo presión, y el piloto del Helicóptero simplemente sensacional. Realmente admiro a los pilotos de Helicópteros. Bravazo!! Muy pareja la carrera el Porsche ganó por muy poco.
