  • This is confusing.

  • division by zero sounds terrifying

  • I love this man

  • Are you guys buying these lies? try asking him why that ought to be the case and you will see he is lying.

  • I think.

  • Lol. [Paper...)

  • GASP!!!!! a never ending stack of papers @_@

  • lolz, this would be a very good commercial for sharpie. to display how long their pens can hold up on ink XD

  • I like this Professor, he explains amazingly I will be his new follower

    Thank u Professor

  • 0 means nothing

  • @xFuckYouInTheAss doesn't mean nothing, it's a integer and integers mean something. :)

  • sir please tell about derivatives and the function of derivatives

  • the last mistake in this lecture, at min. 1:17:12. as the infinity is not a real number and in fact not a fact, when he gave x=3.999... and 10x (39.999....) - x =(36) and then 9x= 36, thats mean x=36/9 = 4. x started with 3.9999... and ended to be 4. This is non-sense. in fact no infinity, 10x - x = 9x not 36; but it will be 35.999....91 (if u divide it by 9 it will give 3.9999....)

  • in min. 1:03:00, he said the absolute value of x can be - x, and this is not correct. the absolute value can't be -ve.

  • in min. 33:58, the real R numbers contain Q and Irrationals, but again 0 neither Q nor Irrational, so 0 is not a real number.

  • @bassamota are you sure? why isn't 0 rational ?! according to real analysis, rationals are ordered pairs of integers, and 0 is an interger, hence 0 is in rational , hence 0 is in irrational, hence 0 is in real, and hence 0 is in complex....

  • @crozame 0 can't be in rational nor in irrational. we don't have in rational (x/0) like 1/0 or 2/0 all these are undefined. And we can't have sq. root of 0 so it is not irrational. and it can't be a real number as it can't be used in all functions like what those we mentioned ( devision and under sq. root and other functions).

  • @bassamota no, The definition of ratioanal excludes that 0 can be denominator.

  • excellent lecture, but there is a mistake. at min. 19:27, he said all "Z" is in Q. while "0" is a Z and can't be in Q.

  • how would the material covered here compare to the material being covered in 2011 as far as similarity?

is this the equivalent to MAC1105?

  • OMG I LOOOOOOOVE those 80s beats in the background!!!

  • God Bless You!

  • Wow!! Best Algebra teacher ever. Coming from a guy who flunked or dropped out of College Algebra five times that says something. Just finished lesson one and moving on to lesson two!

  • amaaaaaaazing thanks a lot

  • Amazing...talk about teaching as service. You will help tons of people...well done.

  • This teacher is easily my favorite out of all of the Algebra teachers, or people trying to call themselves "teachers" on YouTube. He cuts the shit, doesn't condescend, and is extremely clear in his speech. Richard Delaware emanates complete badassery and I commend him for it.

  • God bless you my man.... You really saved me, i wish the best to you and to your family! I own You!

  • studying for my midterm....n this is def helpin.... thank god u can learn anything on youtube!!!

  • that marker give me the shivers tho...........

  • @jpopwili123 damn man on the parts where you could realy hear it i was like damn cover that sound! that pen was killing me on the parts where he would write when he wusnt talking!

  • god bless his heart!!!

  • All I can say is god bless the USA,thanks England

  • Sir you are real great, because you made mathematics easy to every one.

  • 0:46:50 "This is nonsense" is it bad that my mind went

    "Nonsense? THIS IS SPARTAAAA"

  • You should really just teach my teacher a thing or two about algebra..

  • @TheTyTyXD lol

  • Is there a video/lecture in this series on matrices? We covered them when I took college algebra about a decade ago and I'm looking to review the subject.

  • Great lectures. Remind me to send you a grad invitation.

    Outstanding!

  • No words to describe the deed you have done, but youtube is not playing after 1.01.25 minutes of this video.it keeps loading but not finished. Is there any other options like the same video uploaded again somewhere with the other name or anything else?

  • No words to describe the deed you have done, but youtube is not playing after 1.01.25 minutes of this video.it keeps loading but not finished.

  • @discoverygardens Try another web-browser hopefully it'll fix it.

  • algebra, geometry, calculus, trigonometry, its all gibberish to me

  • fook yeah

  • thank you so much

  • CLEP! ME TOO! Thanks!

  • Thank you very much Sir, This is great,,,

  • Whoops. I meant colour.

  • How many trees died for this vid? Hi everyone on YouTube. This is my first message. Long time watcher, fist time scriber! My favourite colure is orange! Oh, and thanks for all the vids Mr man! Groovy music!

  • Comment removed

  • HAS ANYONE GONE THROUGH ALL 40 LECTURES OF THIS SERIES???PLEASE DO MESSAGE ME...I AM SET TO DO IT AND WOULD LOVE TO GET YOUR FEEDBACK...SORRY FOR THE CAPS!!!

  • @bangalorebully i am going to watch them all before my fall semester starts ill keep in touch with u lol

  • @DanTheManFromTexas Dan, I have finished the whole series by now and fortunately without any doubts left..Delaware is great...If you face any problems, feel free to message me..I am fond of Texans!!

  • He gives great explanations, and is really thorough. This makes math so much easier! But I wish he'd use a white board instead of wasting all that paper!

  • Thank you! I'm taking college algebra in the fall and i havent taken a math class in like 3 years so this has been a very helpful review. Thank you very much for the upload!

  • i really hope i get a professor like this guy next semester :p

  • thank you very much for sharing these valuable knowledge!

  • Is this the college algebra course for high school?

  • thank you so much

  • thanks you so much sir...i admire you...very clear presentation....

  • lol he spelt "given" like "6iven"

  • The clear explanations are amazing, you seem able to think in terms of how and what is needed to make it understandable.

    Thank you very much indeed

  • i like the music at the stop tape intervals brm brm br

  • thank you so much

  • this guy should sell dvds for 500$ per class! he would make a killing! all he needs is a tv ad!

  • thank kiu 恨机器 0:27:21

  • thank kiu 恨机器

  • The paper he uses is for the benefit of many people at once. It's not like more paper gets crumbled when you watch it. If he's comfortable with paper as his medium, let him do his thing. Besides, paper is renewable. It literally grows on trees.

  • @bourbonstmc You say that because you are so alienated from Mother Gaia that you can't even hear the screams of those trees as they are butchered.

  • Math is crazy. Example: how can 264=1.592?.. Stupid shit.. Hate math

  • Great video! Greatly appreciate the upload!

  • sure is alot of paper your wasting.. at least write on the back! poor trees......

  • @kingofkrunk107 did you really watch a math video, to bitch about trees?

  • @ZachariahLogan. obviously not idiot...

  • @kingofkrunk107 your calling me an idiot? I think since were watching a math, either, we both qualify, or neither of us do. haha, I didn't mean to sound mean, just kinda, saying, No one needed to point out how much paper, he uses. Everyone saw that.

  • sure is alot of paper your wasting.. at least write on the back! poor trees....

  • 0 * (1 / 0) = 0.

When it is defined that any number divided by zero is zero.

Since throughout mathematics there are numerous cases of

special treatment of values to suit the needs of mathematical

progress and the fact that dividing by zero as it is currently "undefined"

results in no value (a division by zero error or undefined on computer and calculators respectively).

    Defined:

    0 / 0 = 0

    0 / 0 != 1

Any number divided by 0 is zero. If zero is taken to stand for the absence of quantity.

  • ok, i am not a mathematician, but if there is an infinite number of rational numbers and an infinite number of irrational numbers then how can one be have more numbers than the other?

  • I fell asleep watching this video and banged my head on the coffee table. now I don't know anything

  • u sure do waste alot of paper... ever heard of a chalk board?

  • god help me

  • WOW you have beyond cleared this up for me, I can't hear past my professor's beard :/ thanks a billion!!

  • We have thousands of profiles about girls naneedj.info

  • Thanks a million you really know how to deliver this language very well Professor.

  • This is incredible! You have a real gift. The course is really structured, clear, and comprehensible. Extremely helpful. Thank you!!!

  • sir, you are not only a genius but you are also good at teaching. thats rare. i mean, your voice is not shaking, and you are not babb-babb-babbling.. i really love you sir

  • Great course !!!

  • Professor Delaware, once again thank you so much for taking this value time. U don't know how much this classes are helping me a lot with my Math classes. I am in a BHCC in Boston, MA. Happy 2011!!! WE LOVE YA!!!!

  • I am studying for my college algebra clep and appreciate whoever uploaded this video. Thank you for proving that the internet is not just corny cat videos and porn. Peace.

  • thank you for posting this.

  • lol i love how the music for stoping starts out retro 70s style then goes into heavy death metal rock

  • thank you sir. videos like this make me feel hope for you tube!!!

  • Great review! Thank you Professor Delaware.

  • Is there any way to get the textbook used for this course?

  • this is pretty interesting even though im in high school and hate algebra

  • This is a very useful introductory math course. I would really recommend this for people as an addition to their textbooks. Combine this with books and a decent forum for finding answers to your questions and you're all set for learning math in your own pace.

    A+

  • Hey does anyone know of any other lectures that they find similar to this on youtube?

  • @wiredboy27 is it 145?

  • @kwyjiboy11 nope its 46 its 4 squared, 5 squared written backwards... njwildberger is the best killswitch

  • @wiredboy27 i saw a different pattern: 61+-9=52. 52+11=63. 63+31=94. Each time you add 20 more than the number you added to get the previous number (-9, 11, 31, etc.), so 94+51=145.

  • but yeh question iswhat is the next number in the sequence... hint: not 65

  • This is a great course.. also try the one on sequences... the encyclopedia of integer sequences is a good resource... it has a great sequence i couldn't believe i didn't get... see if any of you get it... ok here it is : 61, 52, 63, 94...

  • thank you very much

  • thank you very m uch

  • Prof Delaware and the production staff should be commended for attention to detail - like super-imposing the word "ellipsis" over the written word for better clarity. It is refreshing to see people who are genuinely interested in producing quality resources that are helpful to others.

  • This is one of the best professors of math that I have ever been exposed to. (I am a tier 1 college grad mind you)

  • I FEEL STRONGER NOW

  • I appreciate how he broke every thing down and went line upon line. It helped me grasp the foundational principles of numbers.

  • @created2give I agree, I am like you. The way he broke it down into steps and explained each things(set theory, types of sets, the break down theorms, etc) made everything understandable.

  • Six people are still stuck in pre-algebra

  • Thank you Thank you Thank you !!! Your time and effort is epic and my appreciation is the same. Thanks, Professor Delaware and UMKC !!

  • thanx! your are the best

  • Lol we learn this is 8 grade in Romania.

  • @isrobertb

Lol, I had a professor from there a few semesters ago. I didn't like her only because her accent was so thick. She pronounced 'parentheses' like 'par-rah-ther-ress'. I do not dislike anyone from other countries but math is so much harder with thick accents.

  • @M0N3t7 Lol. Yea we speak with thick accents here.

  • multiplying 3.999999......... with 10 decreases uncertainty, that's why 4 = 3.9999....., I guess thats where I was stuck.

  • YOU GIVE AWAY YOUR KNOWLEDGE SO SELFLESSLY AND WITHOUT A TRACE OF EGO , SIR YOU ARE GREAT .

  • @suneel008 Very well said

  • @suneel008 yes this man is a saint, and way better then my teacher, i learned really allot, I am taking extra math

  • YOU ARE THE BEST TEACHER , THANK YOU SIR .

  • Thank you!!!

  • 1:17:08 EUREKA MOMENT!

  • Thank you so much! I can use this to help me with math!

  • Just perfect. Thanks!

  • God I'm so smart!!!!

  • this is awesome, I just got out of the military and going to school in the fall. This is a great refresher course. THANK YOU.

  • Thank you for the help your provide.

  • great instructor

  • Take that carbon footprint

  • im barely in 8th grade and this video is awesome to me u rule mr delaware

  • Good teacher! Can explain every little detail. You are also good making a straight line!

  • Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge

  • It's really fast but........ i UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING. Please note I hate math lol.But you're a very good teacher!

  • i'm loving this video, but my god, the amount of trees he is flipping through is giving me a nervous tick.

  • 20:30 Suppose that 1 = 0 × ∞. Then 1/∞ = 0, and 1/0 = ∞. Therefore 0 × 1/0 = 0 × ∞ = 1. Of course ∞ is not a rational number but, there is no ambiguity.

  • w0000t w000t sick videos bra like 20 awesome

  • thank you very much po!!!!

  • Thank you so much God bless you for sharing your knowledge . In my culture they say knowledge and happiness are the only things that increase by sharing

  • He's wasting paper i hate that ugh

  • @PierreKorfiatis

I'm sure he recycles. Regardless, the small amount of paper 'wasted' here is no match for the amount of information sharing and intelligence culturing going on behind the scenes, in our heads.

I say waste more of that useless tree stuff to teach ;)

  • dude, what good is "intelligence culturing" when you can't breath?

  • @PierreKorfiatis

Na, It's the best use of paper I've ever seen.^^

  • u r awsom, great job. n kip it up

  • Thanks for this. Why wasnt the Internet when we were learning Math ;).

  • i can't believe i'm getting this for free!!

  • Very helpful

  • Very nice videos!! It reminds me just what I've "forgotten" during the years! : )

  • i love you, have my babies!

  • Nice!

  • Thanks for the excellent videos. Are the exercises mentioned in the videos available for download?

  • this great

  • this is awsome

  • This is great!

  • Aw man! Get a mic. X(( Subs or something. I got my speakers, windows sound, youtube player sound, everything maxed, and I can't hear a thing. ,-.- I'm really interested, too. 0.0 I could really use to brush up on my math. Consider dubbing? Audio and video should be done in separate parts, anyway. It way ups the quality.

    Anyway, thanks for posting.... =)

  • ALRIGHT, so.... I had my headphones plugged in. LOL

  • @majib2009 So true... does he practice for these videos? He speaks audibly and writes legibly. In fact, when I was taking my calculus exam, his voice is the one playing through my mind over and over... freaky.. especially for the "chain rule."

  • I recommended your series of videos to all of my classmates. Thank you!

  • thank you sir....for sharing your knowledge...

it helps me a lot in my mth subject...

    once again, thank you

  • THANK YOU!!!!!!!

  • I've been in the Marine corps for only 4 years and I've already forgotten most of the basic algebra I learned in middle school and high school. This is a GREAT refresher!!

  • Thank you sir,Very helpful video.

  • is it just me, or is this high school level stuff? hell, middle school. no elementary. maybe the next episode will get better........

  • watch the series, this is the first one...for people who haven't been doing equations for a while its a good refresher. "Judgements prevent us from seeing the good that lies beyond appearances. - Wayne Dyer

  • Thanks for this video. I haven't watched it yet but I'm just curious, do you give assignments? And if so, what book goes with this course?

  • its easy now thanks professor
