rg2027x you got that commet right on. I know what im about to say is far from new but music will never have that essence or pure meaning behind it ever again. completly timeless. you'll never get that feeling inside that makes you glad to be alive. The bullshit they try passing off as music today is sad.
Michael Spinks may have listened to this to tune on his way to the ring but it didn't help him very much. He wound up on getting his arse kicked on several occasions. So much for musical inspiration. In the real world this not a Rocky movie magical song. Boxing is about ability, heart and physical toughness. Spinks was lacking in all three categories obviously.
Justo buscaba este video..es lo mejor de la epoca... recuerdo que tenia 11 o 10 años cuando mis hermanos mayores veian Disco Club y esa cancion se me quedo en la mente..ke gran recuerdo saludos de Lima Peru
Kenny is slated to be at the height of 6'4,yet when he stood near Charlie Daniels who stands 6'2 then Kenny looked no taller than Charlie Daniels.I do not get why people have to jack peoples height up.Like in WCW Paul Wright was slated 7'4 and in WWE he was only 7'2 and later 7'0.What is the point.Did they shrink over the years?
remembers when this song was used by NBC Sports to promote the college basketball final between Michigan State (Magic Johnson) vs Indiana State (Larry Bird)
Those are the original musicians with the exception of Michael McDonald. That is Tris Imboden on the drums. George Hawkins on the bass, Jon Clark on flute...read the liner notes before you put up something you know nothing about. Back in the 70's it was all lips syncing. That is how they rolled then.
This is lyp synching because it is not a live performance, it is the promo video (of the studio version) of this song. Yes, those are teh musicians on his bad at time. Nice upload!
This is also before Kenny discovered mouse and went a little too heavy on the synth in the 80's.
I didn't realize how good of a singer Kenny was. The beginning of the song his voice has a lot of soul in it. He should have been an R&B singer, and sang with the De barge's and the Jets back then. ha ha haa
@WhatTheFlyinFudge I heard a story where "certain friends" of Steve Gadd took him into the studio drunk off his ass, and sat him down in front of a drum kit. He proceeded to play in time with the metronome for 15 minutes...henceforth the nickname "The Human Metronome"
A wanna be where you are ....
I recorded this video on Beta format many years ago in my borned country, Colombia! I was wondering today if somebody has put it into the tub and wow! here it is!
Pues si, en Lima esa epoca de adolecencia felizmente tenia creo que para entonces era un betamax y me ponia a grabar buena música. ahora vivo en europa y nunca mas encontré ese video.
Kenny and Michael McDonald write and sing well together. Michael is in the background.

Kenny sings like a man who really needs a good shave but doesn't have a razor. I feel his pain.

Kenny could really sing. No fucking auto tune or computers needed
Back then you had to play from your heart.
Now that soul has all gone away

This was also the theme song for boxer Michael Spinks, who used to walk into the ring with "This is It" playing.

This track should be labeled "This is it - Michael McDonald with Vocals by Kenny Loggins"...
Michael Mcdonald gets looked over quite a bit. Could be the beard. But It wouldnt be Mcdonald without the beard!

Brian Man is on the keyboards, not Michael McDonald...does every man with a beard and plays the keyboards with his mouth in the mic Michael McDonald?

This video is kinda lame. I wanna see the REAL musicians who actually played in the studio:
* Michael McDonald, eating the mic, not know where the mic begins and his beard ends...
* Steve Gadd, in all his coked-up glory playing the perfect groove whil completely out of his tree...
