  • How many plates

  • thanks for supporting huffing have you gone to rehab? J

  • You would just need a 4" coupler, A male reducer from 4" to 2" and then a male 2" plug to get a flat bottom.

  • i dont get it

  • how many plates are u running?

    i have a 9 plate cell that has 3 positive and 4 negitive at 75 mm X125mm

with the rest earth and produces about 250 ml per 30 sec wondering if that is on the right track

  • Please read my FAQ

  • What a boring voise u got..

    sorry

  • epik videos, every one of them has a funny remark that you havent cut out. very at home genius workshop. *sniff* "ahh that smells good. (pause) former life..." A true world saving hero, with your engineering. That is what you are

  • Thank you for the kind words. Just keeping in real and entertaining.

  • NATTY ICE!!!

    Represent the HxCx DRUNX!

  • You Sir will be going down in history as one of the pioneers who actually had a bearing on saving this big blue marble and it's inhabitants. I certainly hope our president elect has the good sense to veto any inhibitive legislation regarding the future of this very worthwhile endeavor.

I also wanted to thank you for numbering your videos.

Please keep up the fantastic research!

  • former life hahahaha

  • I drilled the holes in the side of my tank, it gives better support and the cap can be removed. I also drill a hole in the side towards the bottom and in line at the top and put 2 elbows and a clear tube on mine to have a water level line, And they do make a flat bottom 4" Sch 40 cap.

  • Will this not produce a Hydrogen and Oxygen mixture of gases? Like Brown's gas, as from the Grass Roots Magazine from the 80's?

Where he uses it to weld an iron bar to a brick?

Where used in an eternal combustion engine it creates a vaccum when ignited and gives water off as the resultant "exhaust"?

And does not that engine require to be mounted upside down to have the valves drain the water out?

I remember imagining a lot about this some 20 years ago.

Im not sure Im on same page as your goals.

  • Yep all similar to Brown's gas and even back to the 1937 patent of the water carburetor just a whole lot more refined and most of us are using it as supplemental fuel injected into the intake air to make the fuel burn more completely and save gas. Of course with modern computer controls some other considerations like O2 sensor adjustments and placement of the injection are needed. Zero has even refined the EFIE for O2 sensors and PWM to reduce the current used in electrolysis. Thanks Zero!

  • Hey thanks for the reply. I have been watching a lot more videos & finally got onto the idea of where this was all going. lol.

My mind is racing, my enthusiasm gone youthish again. I love to be creatively inventive.

I am wondering about these high currents, they seem a lot for a car battery consisently pumping it out.

Larger plates? Different electrolyte solutions? Closer plate gaps? Heat friend or foe? Many thoughts. Temperature regulation, storage resevoir for peaks and off peak revs.

    evolving

  • Just wondering why there are neutral plates?

Also does this just feed constantly without regulation to the air filter mainfold near the air intake? Or is there some rev sensitive factors? I take it the Fuel Injection is auto compensating for it?

  • Many ECM/ECU (computer) units will see the leaner mix at the front O2 sensor due to the better fuel burn as too lean and will go rich, some will go failsafe and go "open loop" similar to choke on a carb like it does when the sensor is cold. The upstream, or O2 sensor forward of the catalytic converter, is what a fuel injected unit reads to adjust fuel. If you get poor mileage with HHO then you need to compensate with an EFIE unit on the O2 voltage. Search EFIE and you'll find ZFF's vids on it.

  • Pretty much the neutrals give it a resistance to current and lowers the high current and heat from the current. 15-20A for direct battery is normal and 8-15 about right with a pulse width modulator (PWM) to pulse the DC rather than continuous DC. Gap seems to be good around 1/16th inch for most people. Each vehicle and generator will have it's individual problems and advantages. Most can inject into the intake some have to go into manifold. Carb'd engines w/o computer seem to be the easiest.

  • Zero, Your saving me hours of shop time. Thanks for all your videos. I'm going to use window "polyurethane" to hold my next cell together. I've patched tires from the outside, with that stuff.

  • To avoid getting scraps of metal into the spaces, I'd suggest predrilling the leads and then assemble everything. Faster and cleaner.

  • i am having trouble keeping it air tight when i come up to pressure . i use the same 4 in pvc screw cap

  • Lots of teflon tape, my friend.

  • You can also run a small bead of Goop around the crack that can be pulled off without too much trouble if you need to disassemble.

  • Use silicone grease on the threads. I have some clearish silicone grease that goes to 400 F I use for fuser films in laser printers but paint ball owners use it in their guns and some restaurant machines like the shake and soft serve machines use the same for the seals at the back of the churning cavities. Vaseline will probably melt off and Vaseline and bearing grease might cause problems with the plastics as they are petroleum based (hence he name petrolatum for the base of Vaseline).

  • Chemplex 710 is the name/grade of the grease I use - about $9 for a 5.3oz tube.

  • Sorry I had to remove your comment. Trying to keep it family friendly.

  • got ya ;P didnt want to share that secret, lol

  • natural ice, nice choice!

  • Either that or Steel Reserve if I'm in a real hurry to get there. ;-)

  • BAWAL SINGHUT SINGHUT

  • new to this very interested, bet you never heard that before? would be interested in speaking to you can you contact me thru my email?

  • Nope. Please read the FAQ on my channel home page.

  • ok I understand your reasoning , but I need to tell you about your o2 sensor tests,I believe you mite be going the wrong way, If I understand you correctly?

  • I'll double check the O2 sensor plots tonight but I think I'm going in the right direction.

  • I agree with flahr1--have had pressure leaks without the primer. Still best to use the 2 part system. Let's hope it holds for you, Zero!

  • Hi Zero, for good efficiency dont have too many series connecting joints. Stainless has fairly high contact resistance. You could consider passing rods thru opposite side walls of the tube above waterline. Leaving cleanout free for gas outlet and refill. This way electrical connections aren't disturbed during refills. I know sealing is more difficult, if cell is under vacuum it's ok though. Thanks for the tip on Silicones..that must be why mine always fall apart & floats round loose in the cell.

  • Hi Zero..the cell is insulated very well...could an improvement be made by a thin layer of varnish on the exposed plate edges? good luck

  • YES! But, adhesion is the problem. Under electrolysis, very little stays put on the plates. Even along the panels the edges will come loose over time. The plates will remain in position because the glue will remain stuck to the panels which box them in.

Some have tossed around the idea of powder coating the edges but I'm not sure where that stands.

  • What other alternative can I use in place of the Goop brand? Iam in South Africa and I have never seen the Goop product.

  • I've used 3M white eurathane marine adhesive with good results. Basically anything flexible that is rated for caustic environments should work.

  • thanks. what are the plates sizes please?

  • You should always use pvc primer as well. If you're hesitant --- well it smells even better than the glue!

  • Awesome! :-D

But seriously, someone else noted that too. I'll try to mention it in the next vid.

  • Out of curiosity, what is the consequence of not using primer? Will it never cure? or will it just take a little longer?

  • It does not bond as well. Without primer the connections may leak or under pressure it would separate. In your application you may not ever have issues without primer, but its cheap and good insurance. The primer melts a think layer of pvc welding it together with cement.

  • ..correction "thin layer"

Cures the same with or without primer.

  • I don't think this application will benefit much from primer then. Thanks for your comments!

  • Back in my carpentry days with my father, I asked the same question "what's the purple stuff, if the clear stuff is the glue?" My father replied thustly "to properly clean and abrase the pipe so the glue has something to hold onto." Ah, the good ol' days.

  • Hi ZFF I had just finished my cell (25plates 18cm x 6cm) Which is approximatly like yours but I drilled the plates top and bottom used nylon bolts and washers to hold and space the plates. I am going to use silicone sealer to close the edges. I also sanded the plates. well now I can compare the ouput with yours. Mine may have a bit less surface exposed due to the spacing washers 1.5mm thick x 2cm dia.

  • DO NOT USE SILICONE PRODUCTS!!!

They will break down in elyte and poison your cell. Marine adhesives only! GOOP brand is easily the best. I highly recommend that you do not substitute.

    You have been advised.

  • ZFF, What is the purpose of enclosing the electrodes with the marine glue and black plastic? Just curious.

  • To insulate them from solution and force current to pass through the plates instead of around them. This is where most series designs fail the effieiency test.

  • the brick... that's a good name... great build so far, thanking you for sharing I am.

  • Funny guy! *shifff* Smells good. :D

  • Yeah, in a former life... ;-)

  • Warning! Don't smell that glue whit long period. Or you will see green man walking in your kitchen :D

  • Great job!

  • ZF

    Great Vid

One thing when you put PVC together the joint will not cure to full stringht unless you use the primer. (the purple stuff)

Like I said great vid helps the Base get started on the right foot.

Thanks for all your time and effort

  • Yes, this latest build is not only my most ambitious, I want this video series to be the definitive tutorial as well.

  • hold on tight the last time that I tryed that I got my finder almost cut off from the spinning metal.

  • Me too. One of my videos way back on the OSPMM. Got anxious, careless, held a strap of metal to the bench to drill it, the bit grabbed it, my palm got sliced.
