I don't know why people use the Hindu shuffle. Just use an overhand shuffle. The Hindu shuffle looks so stupid, awkward and suspicious. I can overhand at 100% normal shuffling speed, so it's 100x more convincing.

My big gripes in decreasing order of concern:

1. He is exposing this to the general public.

2. He doesn't name the trick, which is "Red Hot Mama", also known as "The Chicago Opener."

3. He doesn't credit the trick, which will imply to some it's 'his' trick. This trick was created by Al Leech a long time ago.

And, of course it's not the best card trick. (There is no such thing anyway, there are only many equally strong tricks).

What makes a good trick isn't using the most complicated sleights, but the effect on the spectators. Chicago Opener or Red Hot Momma which is this trick is a real stunner for laymen. I've used it a lot & it ALWAYS gets a great response provided it's presented well. This one & a colour change deck trick are 2 of my favourites as they leave folk open-mouthed & are fairly easy to do.

Side steals, diagonal palm shifts etc are fun to pull off but don't mean the audience like them better.
