This game was a 7. The story is really fun and the idea was really good, but the gameplay wasn't that great. Camera movement sucked and it becomes annoying really fast, but the art was really good and the humor is awesome. If this series got its camera movement better and lost its repetitiveness, this series could easily be the next Conkers... which I loved.

And to be honest with you it really is a lot like pikmin. If the only differences are being evil, characters looking different, and destroying villages. This game was massively fun at first...........but as you progress the enemies get fucking ridiculous, like how they own 17 of your minions with one stupid swing of their sword and you have to fight like 60 of the same, unstoppable enemy. I was severely disappointed with this piece of shit game. 75% of the entire game is you telling your minions to wait in a safe spot while you go up and try not to die while trying to soften up the enemy, but you still get massacred so much it is ridiculous.
They overlook the fact that the voice work is hit or miss...Gnarl is one of my favorite voices in video game history...whereas Khan makes me want to reach for a gun and shoot my 360.
I do agree however, that Overlord rocks...and comparing it to Pikmin is like comparing ripe fruit to moldy 7-week old bananas. In Pikmin you're controlling a pack of cartoonish generic looking sprouts, whereas in Overlord, you're controlling minion hordes that are heavy on destroying their surroundings.
Correct me if I am wrong, but wasn't it the graphic they compared with fable and not an actual game vs game?
Still, I find Overlord the better game because fable was so goddamn overhyped and once it got out, the length of the game was VERY short and several things got cut! Even if you do all the side quests and try to locate every key e.t.c. Overlord feels more complete.

Fair enough if killing and destroying is your thing, but it doesnt stop the fact that these guys are awful.
Actually there's a lot of strategy involved. You have to set up ambushes with your stealth minions.
You can have your brown minions set up in narrow passage ways to maximize their combat abilities. You have to set up your red minions at proper range or guarded by Browns.
You have to position your Blues and protect them because they are the medics of your army, there's a lot of strategy. You can rent it to see the gameplay. This is leagues above Pikmin.

It's all up to the person playing it. My game crashed a LOT, and yet I liked it, mostly because I have a LOT of patience when it comes to things like that.

You can't always trust the reviews on websites like Gamespot and IGN because the full time editors review the big titles but a lot of the non-AAA titles (such as Overlord) are written by interns.

DVD drives can only play CDs and DVDs. CD drives cant. Where did you try downloading it from? If it's Gametap, then maybe you should call them up and ask them about it. What are your computer's specs?
The game only works on a DVD if you plan on playing it with a disk. A DVD drive could read both DVDs and CDs but a CD drive could only read CDs. You may need to upgrade your CD drive to a DVD drive.

These guy's give really good fucking reviews! I loved this game as much as they did! It was really fun, unique, and it did remind me of Pikmin at times, when you have to carry shit, but that's not a bad thing at all considering their both great games.

yes....ign is the most critic...like...hmm...for tony hawk's american wasteland they gave 3...for prouving ground 5..and for marc echo's getting up contents under pressure they give 7...yes..overlord I think is a very succesfilly created rpg....and they gave 6....they are very critic....another very good rpg the Fable:Lost chapter...like the real life...u can have wife...u can steal..and they have 5....I can'r understand the IGN

IGN sucks, i mean look at Alone in the Dark they gave it a 3.5 (WTF!). I think AitD deserves an 8 for effort, creativity, graphics, and gameplay. Overlord is also one of those games that deserves a great score.

The game definitely has Pikmin overtones, but does its own thing. Comparisons to Pikmin should NOT be seen as an insult.

You can't always trust the reviews on websites like Gamespot and IGN because the full time editors review the big titles but a lot of the non-AAA titles (such as Overlord) are written by interns.

I tryed to downlod overlord from a dc form a store but wen i downlodet it it didnt work.
my pc cant play dvds and i wonder if thats the problem cause on the cover it says PC DVD
and that i tink means that you need ti be able to play a dvd is that right?

DVD drives can only play CDs and DVDs. CD drives cant. Where did you try downloading it from? If it's Gametap, then maybe you should call them up and ask them about it. What are your computer's specs?

The game only works on a DVD if you plan on playing it with a disk. A DVD drive could read both DVDs and CDs but a CD drive could only read CDs. You may need to upgrade your CD drive to a DVD drive.
