So, just how noticeable has the chance been in this guitar? I just bought the same, and I find it a bit bright, with not enough low end. I'm going to try some medium strings, and see it that makes a difference. The thin Elixers it came with don't sound full enough for my tastes. Thanks.
I just bought a Taylor 110e. It's sound a bit bright for my taste. Might a different set of strings make that much of a difference? It has the original Elixer strings on it. Any thoughts?
@peterpulpitpounder i do know what you mean about it being bright....it might open up over time sometimes i play with a heavier pick to make it a little thicker...the gsminis have a good bass sound their somewhat expensive though...
Well, I recently made the decision to return the 110ce and opted for the 310ce instead. It is definitely warmer, even a bit more subdued, and I do hope all this talk about a guitar "opening up" is true, as I'd like to see this guitar resonate just a bit better than it does now. I've been playing a Yamaha fg-335 for over 25 years, and despite it being all laminate, it has an amazing, full sound to it. Perhaps I should have gotten a Taylor.
I bought this guitar online from guitarcenter and when I strumed some chords I had to press down the strings pretty hard to get a clear sound without buzzing. If it makes any difference I'm a beginer but my other guitar I currently have is easy to play chords without having to strain my fingers to produce a good sound. Is this just the way the Taylor 110 is or is there something wrong with the guitar.
@ihearthappiness599 My 110 plays very smoothly and the action is just right. You might want to look into having the nut tightened or loosened, or you can try to do it yourself.
If you want to know more about it I think there's a video on it that's actually from Taylor guitars. PM me if you want it and I'll see if I can find it.
I'm kinda devading right now on taylor 110 or taylor DN3 sapele dreadnought. As you know the DN3 is much much more expensive than the 110. I've been playing for a year already on my epiphone and I wana upgrade. Which one of the two should i get? I want a pro one like make it my last guitar you know. please help thanks
@powerrangersr i would think that you would need to invest a good 1000$ more to get a similar sound to andy i would recomend (for the recording he does) an acoustic/electric setup with an input and mic it in front of your sound hole
@Forgeth3Bulletz jack Johnson accuracy uses a martin sumthin about the more dull taste of a martin has better island feel ... then again jason mraz also is kinda island feel and uses taylor .... John Mayer (great for harmonic chords) OMJM is his guitar
myself im still deciding if i wanna try out this taylor
@Forgeth3Bulletz thats a big reason why i got mine. i just got it yesterday and it sounds perfect for JJ. playing the song Taylor on a Taylor guitar. awesome haha
I've been playing acoustic guitar for 39 years. I own a Taylor 110 for everyday use and I can tell you that in it's price range nothing but nothing beats it. Yeah Bob Taylor moved production down Mexico way but they're still way above the competition with that unmistakable true Taylor sound. It's deservedly part of the Taylor family and an incredible best buy for the money. It sure ain't no runt! ! 'nuff said.
Thats a really big statement to make but a seagull guitar sounds way better than this i think and is a couple hundred dollars cheaper but to each their own.
Owned around 90 guitars .... my 110 is a cracking guitar. Everyone has different taste ... but for £400 it's a great deal. Two models of any same guitar can differ greatly
Then can you suggest some models. I'm in the market for an acoustic, preferably something similar too a Taylor 214/114 with cutaway, really like the way it sound and looks.
I think they would have more endorsements and better sales if people on YouTube would shut up and actually play the fucking things.

Save your money and buy a Martin you will thank me later the quality of these guitars are ok but a Martin is superior
stodd32 1 year ago
Interesting, I always considered Martin to have a high mid range and treble, and not as much bass. While Gibson has the bluesy bass.
I'd love to get one of these guitars someday.

Will the bass improve over time? Will it "open up" as the expression goes? I wish it had a bit more in the lower end department.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
The Taylor 110 is a waste of money. It's a very cheap guitar with a fancy name made in Mexico. It is not a true Taylor.
Save a couple hundred and buy a Seagull or Breedlove.
My advice to someone looking for a good guitar with under $500.00 to spend... try another brand other than the 110.
