No, he was never going to be the new singer of Queen. What he was offered was the lead role in their musical, "we will rock you". Accordingly, Brian May was sitting at homw one evning watching the telly, when Jan Werner was showned and Brian was just nailed to the flor by his voice. May told his people to find out who that amzing singer was, and get him (May) in contact with him. After reciving the offer, Jan Werner said "When Queen calls you, you of course say Yes! No doubt 'bout that!"
