  • About 0:26 in I was thinking nice bum. Then the song says 'check out my bum' Lol coincidence.

  • I see that you are trying to do something new here...but I don't think it translates as well. It is funnier when the reality is the situation where things fall apart, but I still enjoyed your video. We always expect things to go badly and in your video things ended well. :)

  • Isn't this backwards??

  • this video kinda sucks...good song though

  • Wow your reality is good.

  • Harrison High School FTW

  • shes hott

  • LOL @ that stoner 0:57

  • that outfit hurts my eyes! leggings are not pants! uggs are of the devil!

sorry, that was rude, but you're too pretty for that sht.

  • LAME

  • fuckin' lov this movie. <3

  • thats so good but was it reversed?

  • oh my god, what is this shit. i was expecting a scene from 500 Days and I get this crap.

  • @Keatonisamonster Read the description... it was a project. I was assigned to copy it, supposed to. So obviously I'm not trying to take the credit of Marc Webb. You think it looks stupid? Then don't watch it!

  • @Keatonisamonster actually I think she made a nice twist; her expectations were always negative, showing lack of confidence in the situation, when reality was so much better; I guess I took from it that life is beautiful if we stop being so negative about it; unfortunately the "expectations" frame was the last to recede so I didn't know if that meant the character kept having bad expectations despite reality, or that our expectations (good or bad) always precede reality... good job!

  • Holy Shit. Anyone else realise that the guy sounds like Steven Hawkings :L

  • @electricgirl821 yes, thank you

  • Can you please tell me what is the meaning of it being reversed. Its an awesome concept but I just don't understand what it means... Maybe I'm just slow.

  • I really like your take on it! (: I'm glad you were creative and created a different scenario then just do what happened in the movie (:

  • Much less depressing than in (500) Days of Summer.

  • that was the total opisit, and wtf?

  • Also, work on your camera work and sound. Make sure you match room tone, there's obvious spikes in it while they speak. Add some color correction, and watch the window reflection, the camera is in the shot.

  • It's a nice attempt, but it's a little bit weak. There's no emotional connection whatsoever here. Who are the characters? Why do they matter? Also, I understand you're trying to be original, but I just think the having reality be better thing failed. And why do they kiss after bumping into eachother? Weird.

  • Read bottom comments up btw. X_X

  • The contrasts between the two is what imposes emotion on the viewer in 500 Days, and the general ability to relate. This one isn't so much the same. Yes, the kissing is fine (and spontaneous), but just passing the guy up is everyday.

So here's my two-cents. It's got structure, but it needs to be polished a bit more. You also need to build an anchor point and ground it in something. There is no context, so it's difficult for the viewer to build a relation with the characters. Good work though.

  • The disaster is the conclusion that the party is an engagement party. You need to lead up to this to capture the feeling from the film. You need an extraordinary climax or an extraordinary disaster. Sure, the kissing acts climatic, but just passing isn't a disaster, it's everyday.

  • I can't personally look at this without thinking of the scene in relation to the movie. In terms of that, it's grounded in substance, as in something leads into it. It also serves as a pivotal changing point in the film. The way this should conclude is that everything develops either into this climax or this disaster, as in the film. In the movie, the climax is Summer and Tom reunite.

  • I Think It's reversed...Yeah i totally do,I Don't think anybody Could Kiss a perfect stranger in less than 1 Minute,Well Except if it's a hore...

  • @Ham27Breakthrought Oh hey there...

you never won any spelling bees did you?

  • I like the way the good was in reality and bad was in expectations

  • @500DaysofAriana

    Thank you 500DaysofAriana! :)

Glad SOMEONE can see the beauty of not doing things exactly how people expect them; it's called being original.

  • it was great:) where do you go to school? because im interested in majoring in broadcasting!

  • @dalonti

I am only in highschool, but you can google the top colleges in the U.S. for broadcasting majors! I tried to include a link, but it wouldn't allow me to.

  • I think the sides were wrong...

  • You have it reversed. The reality is that we all live alone, and that we all die alone.

  • @SagaciousSilence :D:D:D lol, but true. :(

  • eeer, it seems like 'reality' and 'expectations' sides are mixed up, aren't they? anyways, i enjoyed watching it!

  • That book drop was on target! It seems as though the expectations would be more of the reality though? She expected to have a bad day and had a good day instead?

  • Do you mean side by side? You just pull the corners to make it a smaller size (small enough to include another video beside it) and then line them up the best you can. What type of editing software are you working with?

  • heyy one question, how did you manage to put them together like that? My teacher asked me to do the same thing and I don't know how! would be great if you could help :)
