Philadelphia Zoo Gibbon Male Calling

I love the sound of gibbons. Does the Philadelphia Zoo have siamangs? When a pair of siamangs perform their duet, zoo traffic comes to a halt.

No, the Philadelphia Zoo does not have siamangs. Another local zoo, the Animal Kingdom Zoo, in Burlington, NJ, had three of them for a while, but I never heard their call while I was visiting there.

I wish I had, though. These calls send chills through me! They are so wonderful.

I hate to say it, but sometimes I get annoyed when other visitors are talking so loudly they don't notice. On a couple of occasions, I have said even more loudly, "Oooooh ... listen, do you hear that?"
