Most of the people before you died somewhere around the 14th or 15th test chamber. The Room with the Sentries can be done easier and quicker, Just Put an orange portal high on the wall and blast blue ones onto the floor of sentry holes, they fall out through the hole in the wall and break you can usually get all but 1-2 this way and in less time.
Its a woman because we are better at working out puzzles (and there is no fighting in the game so something a woman would do, A guy would want a BFG and go shooting things.)
In the game 'portal', you are motivated to finish because GLaDOS promised cake at the end. Throughout the game, in side chambers, people who have made it to the end found out that GLaDOS wanted to kill them, and went back and wrote "the cake is a lie" to warn future test subjects that GLaDOS would not be giving them any cake.

Is this the advanced setting? Because though I hate ego-shooters I found this game very refreshing and liked it very much. These scenes I haven`t seen before. And if you end it then you are dead?
