She started out in Nottingham, my home town. She probably didn't get a very good reception when she first started playing gigs here. It's not a very happening town and until a few years ago I don't think there was much of a niche for alternative music. A lot of the time at gigs here there seem to be bad vibes from audiences as if they are against rather than for the performer. She couldn't get a record deal here so she moved to America. She has fans here now though.
