This is going to be an interesting show. The fashon industry reminds me of a dog show. People have to match up to some subjective ideal in order to make it. It seems so unfair for people who don't quite match, and they may still be pretty. It is very disturbing that people would vote based on appearences, while stands on issues are far more important. 4 years ago I voted for Obama because I prefer his stand on the issues. Still he is a heck of a lot cuter than McCain, which is just a nice perk.

This documentary has a very white centric view on beauty. If you notice the part where they show the faces morphing together..the faces have very white features. They show naomi campbell who is a light skinned black and has a narrow nose. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with this. I've just noticed that many models in the fashion industry tend to have a lighter complexion..I rarely see darker ones. Ok, Kate Moss has "fabulous bone structure" - she is very pretty. But hasn't anyone notice that her bone structure is VERY masculinized? For example compare her thick facial bones to the thin bones of Elizabeth Hurley who also appeared on this video. Compare their photos - when they look straight to the camera, neutral expression.
Yes Kate Moss is beautiful, but making her strong face the some kind of symbol of femininity ?? is it some kind of fashion world conspiracy ;-)) or am I blind?

Rachel is very pretty by classical standard, high forehead, perfect large sized eyes, high cheekbones, V-shaped face and beautiful natural hair colour, but I did not see her face in profile. :)
Samantha had the best profile, and was classically beautiful like Rachel, a kind of sophisticated beauty. :)

Another thing I've noticed with a lot of female models is that they're photogenic but not really as good-looking in person or "in motion"; that is, without the benefit of capitalizing on the len's perspective and use of flattering angles. For men, perhaps it's different, for a square jaw, nice eyes, small nose, and high cheek bones always seems to be attractive to females no matter what their taste may be. But I am a heterosexual male, so it's hard to tell.

@zephyrgrim Male models and popular male movie stars often have high cheekbones and a medium high proclaimed forehead. It's a recurring theme in the entertainment business, but not nearly as recurring as with the females.
Males often focus more on the natural beauty of their appearance, whilst wimen strive and aspire to look like someone or something else.

Maybe it's a good thing that they consider these girls to be top candidates for beauty. To me, they're not really tantalizing or interesting. The same goes for Kate Moss. She looks dirty and plain, and somewhat skanky. So it's a good thing that these average-looking girls are considered top-shelf material, as it proves beauty is indeed subjective to some degree, and one doesn't necessarily need to have classical features to be considered attractive.

This documentary has a very white centric view on beauty. If you notice the part where they show the faces morphing together..the faces have very white features. They show naomi campbell who is a light skinned black and has a narrow nose. I'm not saying that there is anything wrong with this. I've just noticed that many models in the fashion industry tend to have a lighter complexion..I rarely see darker ones. Anyway, I guess what I'm trying to say is that perhaps this view on beauty is biased

You must also consider history; it was only a few decades ago that black people's rights were fully recognised in the U.S, so ethnic diversity has come a very long way in a short span of time.

The way i see it comes down to symmetry. The faces that look the most symmetrical are considered beautiful. If its not completely symmetrical(which no ones is) then its considered unique
