(cont'd) "... Additionally, normally-sexed individuals are no less likely to engage in self-defilement [masturbation] if there is insufficient opportunity to satisfy one's sex drive. And they are equally likely to assault male but especially female minors ...; to indulge in incest; to engage in bestiality ...; and even to behave depravedly with corpses if their moral self-control does not control their lust. ..." (cont'd)
As historian Jonathan Ned Katz put it: "He who coins the term loads the dice", LOL. Heterosexual men and women participate with each other (as Kertbeny put it) "in so-called natural [procreative] as well as unnatural [nonprocreative] coitus. They are also capable of giving themselves to same-sex excesses. ..." (cont'd)
Ironically, Mr. Kertbeny first used the term "heterosexual" (NOT "homosexual") disparagingly, pathologizing many unsavory aspects of straight sexuality! As historian Jonathan Ned Katz put it: "He who coins the term loads the dice", LOL.
That poll is interesting, but I agree, we need to take it back. However, I completely understand that it is a dehumanizing term. I'd rather be called gay than homosexual.
@MisterMoonyLupin Get knowledgeable! Learn your history! Seeing that the words "homosexual" and "heterosexual" were coined by the Austrian-born Hungarian journalist and homosexual rights campaigner Karl-Maria Kertbeny, in a letter he wrote to the German Uranian (homosexual) activist Karl Heinrich Ulrichs in May of 1868, they're perfectly acceptable words, at least when used by those who are not ignorant of, and thus proud of their origin.
I never hear " Are you a heterosexual?" ..only the word straight so if you use homosexual then use heterosexual, and if you use the non scientific term like "straight" then use the non scientific term "Gay" problem solved and there will be no excuse to find a problem with any word choice for both parties..

The girl has an annoying habit of beginning sentences with "no" when there is nothing to negate. By the way, people shouldn't obsess over what is "p.c." "Gay" means happy. Homosexual is the proper term. That's the reality.
The whole shifting of words and 10 years down the line the next qword is "contaminated" .. reminds me of all the different terms for African Americans throughout the years. We all know the awful n-word, but who can even remember "coloreds"?
@lezwitch : Actually, "homo" in "homosexual" does NOT mean human. It means "same" (as in: attracted to the same sex, rather than the opposite sex). Same "homo-" as in "homogeneous" , "homozygotic twin" etc. How come it doesn't mean "human"? Simple: it's taken from a different language: Greek, not Latin. The noun "homo" in *Latin* means "man", as in "human". The adjective 'homo" or "homoios" in *Greek*, on the other hand, means "same" or "equal".
More PC bullshit...... The word 'homosexual' is descriptive and has meaning like any other word. The REAL issue is homos want acceptance and validation of homosexuality itself regardless of what word we use to describe it.
I'm gay and I always felt the word homosexual was a scientific classification. There shouldn't be a negative connotation with it, especially if people use it more compassionately.

Homosexual is the most PC term you could ever use. I'm bisexual, I have many homosexual friends. We all accept homosexual and gay fully. We don't even find offense with faggot so long as it isn't used with a negative connotation.

This is the most insanely DUMB video yet. This is why progressives don't get ANYWHERE in this country. We have these idiots that are worried about PC shit while people are dying for oil! Unbelievable.
On a side note, this is a rare case where Cenk *was* right... Until he tried to drag "right wingers." into the mix. Some of the most hateful words I've heard against homosexuals have come from Liberals, who have homophobia that runs so deeply that the first thing they can think of when their arguments fail is to call me gay, simply because they disagree with my opinion, and so don't like me. I've even allowed them to believe I was gay in the past and the insults only got more and more vulgar.
@TurboDally I've argued with both Liberals and Conservatives. When the leLiberals cant beat me, they resort to calling me "gay" along with the variant of that word that begins with an F. They do this as an insult, not because I'm gay, but because I've angered them by having a different opinion than them, and as a result, they do not like me. Natrually the best insult that comes to their minds is something else that they do not like : Homosexuals. I've yet to see this from any "right wingers"
Homosexual & LGBT are not synonymous, because transsexuals are not homosexuals. Being a transsexual is not a sexuality, and neither is being transgendered.
@g42mcombo Just because you turn your back to someone doesn't mean they are going to change. If all the homosexuals in the world turned their backs to you, would it make a difference in your sexuality? Fix the drugs and the gangs and the failing and hungry children in school and then worry about sexual orentation.
I don't know any gay or lesbian people who refer themselves as "homosexual". It's usually a word used by others to describe us and as Anna said, a lot of those other people aren't exactly our friends. When I'm writing for a wider audience I'll use the words "gay and lesbian" or "LGBT". If I'm writing for an audience who might be totally unfamiliar with LGBT issues I'll spell out the acronym the first time I use it.
Are you actually being serious? It's the scientific term but if you don't like it face it it's a fact of who you are. I can think of slot worse terms to describe homos. As for adopting kids well it's naturally and biologically incorrect and unfair on children who have no choice in the matter. I personally believe homos adopting is wrong but if to be done should be to kids who have reached an age where rational decisions can be made
you are so full of grease its coming out thru the phone..boy you make me sick..im laughing at how scared you both are..homosexual homosexual homosexual..hahaha

Like bonobos, other animals will mount another of the same sex and engage in seemingly "homosexual" behavior, although their motivation may differ. Dogs, for example, usually do so to express dominance. Cesar Ades, ethologist and professor of psychology at the University of S‹o Paulo, Brazil, explains, "When two males mate, what is present is a demonstration of power, not sex."[8]
tolerant, perhaps because they use sex to divert attention and to diffuse tension.
Second, bonobo sex often occurs in aggressive contexts totally unrelated to food. A jealous male might chase another away from a female, after which the two males reunite and engage in scrotal rubbing. Or after a female hits a juvenile, the latter's mother may lunge at the aggressor, an action that is immediately followed by genital rubbing between the two adults.[7]
There are two reasons to believe sexual activity is the bonobo's answer to avoiding conflict.
First, anything, not just food, that arouses the interest of more than one bonobo at a time tends to result in sexual contact. If two bonobos approach a cardboard box thrown into their enclosure, they will briefly mount each other before playing with the box. Such situations lead to squabbles in most other species. But bonobos are quite
They "borrow," so to speak, the manifestations of the instinct of reproduction to manifest the instincts of dominance, aggressiveness, fear, gregariousness and so on.
Bonobos are a typical example of this "borrowing." These primates from the chimpanzee family engage in seemingly sexual behavior to express acceptance and other affective states. Thus, Frans B. M. de Waal, who spent hundreds of hours observing and filming bonobos, says.
then they will reject the opposite sex when introduced. Duh.
FOR THE BONOBO ILLITERATE.
Since animals lack reason, their means of expressing their affective states (fear, pleasure, pain, desire, etc.)are limited. Animals lack the rich resources at man's disposal to express his sentiments. Man can adapt his way of talking, writing, gazing, gesturing in untold ways. Animals cannot. Consequently, animals often express their affective states ambiguously.
Zoos routinely pair up species of the same sex so unwanted breeding and fighting does not occur. Animals play the cards that nature deals them. So, they will exhibit homosexual "behavior". Why? Because there is no other option. And after being in this situation for some time, they will reject the opposite sex when introduced. Why? Because they're gay? Don't be ridiculous. Some species pair up with the same partner for life. So, if they were forced by the zoo to pair up with the same sex,
A male and female bird mate and the female lays the eggs. The female leaves the nest and another male joins the "father" to help care for the eggs and raise the young. Does this mean the males are gay? Of course not. All it means is that during evolution, that species determined that males were more capable of protecting, feeding and teaching the young. The female was relegated to being just an egg dispenser.
There is no such thing as "gay" animals. Reading human motivation and sentiment into animal behavior is poor science. Just because a male dog humps another male dog doesn't mean it's gay. Anyone with half a brain can figure that one out. Homosexuals latch on to the "animals are gay" in order to justify their existence.
Since animals lack reason, their means of expressing their affective states (fear, pleasure, pain, desire, etc.) are limited. Animals lack the rich resources at man's disposal to express his sentiments. Man can adapt his way of talking, writing, gazing, gesturing in untold ways. Animals cannot. Consequently, animals often express their affective states ambiguously. They "borrow," so to speak, the manifestations of the instinct of reproduction to manifest the instincts of dominance.
With animals that lack intellect and will, when two instinctive impulses clash, the one most favored by circumstances prevails.[4]
At times, these internal or external stimuli affecting an animal's instinctive impulses result in cases of animal "filicide," "cannibalism" and "homosexuality." To stimuli and clashing instincts, however, we must add another factor: In expressing its affective states, an animal is radically inferior to man.
However, the spontaneous thrust of the instinctive impulse can suffer modifications as it runs its course. Other sensorial images, perceptions or memories can act as new stimuli affecting the animal's behavior. Moreover, the conflict between two or more instincts can sometimes modify the original impulse.
In man, when two instinctive reactions clash, the intellect determines the best course to follow, and the will then holds one instinct in check while encouraging
Everything that's so pathetic about the liberal-left summed up in one brief video. Not ever has the world homosexual been a term of anti-gay abuse. These queers are obviously having a joke with her and the silly cow fell for it.
isn't the problem with negatively connotated words exactly that people "on one side" stop using it and so it is then only used - in this case by conservatives - in a negative context?
in my opinion, people who are so focused on everything being p.c. are completely missing the point. why not just, i don't know, focus on the CONTENT?
I think it's because homosexual is mainly used for men, while in the first question they used "Gays and *LESBIANS*" which are more widely accepted. If it was just gay and homosexual, there wouldn't have been a difference.
You guys i.e. "The Young Turks," with mister tan blue shirt over here, are ridiculous. If you are arguing about homesexual at large, you especially, to buy viewer programming, have no point talking about any subject material that references a particular point of view. When in fact, to be logical in any sense of the reason, you have to understand the predicate to which people deprive. It's not opposition here, it's term of reference. Stop being ideological, because you sound moronic
Gay actualy means happy but ppl call homosexuals gay cause they act happy so if i say your gay it means your happy if i say your a homo it means your an asshole
Wow boo fucking hoo, the term homosexual is a scientific term meaning same sex. People need to grow up and quit bitching about the dumbest fucking things ever.
Homosexuals are retards if they think the word homo dehumanize people.
Homo means men. However its the word homo that is derogathory not homosexual. You don't go around calling people homosexuals if you want to insult them you call them homo, if you say homosexuals you are referencing their sexual attraction to men its not an insult.
@BurnRoddy I know my reply is a little late with your post being two weeks old, and I also agree with your overall point that the slang term "homo" is derogatory, not "homosexual," but I thought it was worth pointing out that the prefix "homo" does not mean "men," it actually means "same" (homo-sexual = same-sex). Conversely, the prefix "hetero" means "other" or "different." Anyways, I'm not trying to sound like a know-it-all, just sharing some knowledge.
Yes in biology it means same and hetero means another or different but in latin homo means men.
Homo sapiens means wise men or knowing man.
And thaks for understanding my point of view. I think we can all agree that stating a sexual preference doesn't demoralize anyone because it doesn't involve his/her personality.
@BurnRoddy Yea, about 5 minutes after posting that, I looked and found out about the Latin meaning; something I was completely unaware of. So sorry about that. Anyways, that final sentence in your last post is spot-on as far as I'm concerned. TYT videos always spark arguments in the comments, so it's nice to agree with someone.
Here's the thing about banning words... if a person has a problem with a particular term being applied to themselves then they also think the meaning is somehow negative.
So if this person had a problem with the word he has a problem with the meaning. Their own negative thought about themselves are being reflected in that word.
Every time I listen to these two banter back and forth on the issues of the day, I can actually feel my brain melting due to how overwhelmingly retarded and boring they are. And yet... I can't stop watching. It's fascinating. No wonder they have so many views. This dude is nothing but a corny, spineless coward.
"Homesexual" is just a 100% PC from Latin same+sexual (orientation, attraction).
While a "gay" in this context originaly had the same meaning as a "prostitute", and "gayhouse" = "brothel". Perhapsthere was a belief, gays do that only for the money. 8D BTW, in my native language it still is pretty much like this (only derrived from the word "joy", sort of "joyhouse" and "joygirl').
But no, because some loons use it, it suddenly has became bad...
I have two problems: 1) having to identify as any *sexual designation is limiting to human sexuality which is often too varied and dynamic to be rigidly defined.
2) "Homosexuals" aren't the only ones whose sexuality is under attack from heteronormativity.
@Conchobhar BWHAHAAHHAAH "heteronormativity" You say that like heteronormativity is bad. Accepted or not, heterosexuality is the biological norm.
But back to topic. homosexual should be fine because it's descriptive of gays and lesbians. Saying "gays and lesbians" is more wordy. I'm with cenk on this one.
@eightball8008 - Heterosexuality is NOT "the biological norm." Nowhere is there research to support that claim. If you haven't studied any biology beyond the high school level then I recommend that you take a few classes and you may be interested to know that sexuality is quite varied, indeed.
I rarely put my field on these posts but I will today, I AM a biological scientist and I can tell you that your post is wholly incorrect.
@Archimedesthread My friend you don't need research to know that male birds have sex with female birds. As does every other macroscopic creature on the planet.
Sure, the occasional deer might hump another male deer in the forest. Does a baboon get frisky with one of the guys every now and then? Yes. But how do the overwhelming majority of vertebrates produce viable offspring? The answer is clearly male and female mating.
Your biology degree doesn't mean bollocks if you can't tell that much.
@Archimedesthread The "biological norm" referred to here probaqbly means male and female of a similar species required to reproduce offspring. Sexuality of a nonreproductive nature is what you are referring to. I am aware of the term "parthenogenesis", but that involves life forms of a lower order-amoeba, etc.
@Archimedesthread sure "biologically" it might not be the norm, bt i think we can both agree that there are more heterosexuals than gays. i dont mean to intrude on your argument, i just felt like saying something.
@Archimedesthread in a way it is the norm because if it was if homosexuality was the norm then there would be noticeably less people all I'm says is heterosexuality is more normal and closer to the mold of an average person last time i checked the demographics 5-10% are gay or lesbian so 90-95 are straight.so straight is the norm but homosexuality is curtainly not to be scauffed or outcasted its just genes that happen to turn on or off
@Archimedesthread lol if its not then dude why are we still around? because reproduction is not a do it if you feel like it its a fucking necessity bitch without we die off so plz stop this oh animals are gay thing if you were a biological scientist which i highly doubt you would know applying human terms to animal behavior is retard
Displaying homosexual behavior does NOT mean they're gay. Reading human motivation and sentiment into animal behavior is poor science.
There Is No "Homosexual Instinct" In Animals
Anyone engaged in the most elementary animal observation is forced to conclude that animal "homosexuality," "filicide" and "cannibalism" are exceptions to normal animal behavior. Consequently, they cannot be called animal instincts.
These observable exceptions to normal animal behavior result from factors beyond their instincts.
-- Clashing Stimuli and Confused Animal Instincts
To explain this abnormal behavior, the first observation must be the fact that animal instincts are not bound by the absolute determinism of the physical laws governing the mineral world. In varying degrees, all living beings can adapt to circumstances. They respond to internal or external stimuli.
Second, animal cognition is purely sensorial, limited to sound, odor, touch, taste and image. Thus, animals lack the precision and clarity of human intellectual perception. Therefore, animals frequently confuse one sensation with another or one object with another.
Third, an animal's instincts direct it towards its end and are in accordance with its nature.

I would expect this comment from someone who comes from a "right wing" bias. Why wouldn't I?
TurboDally 7 months ago

Like bonobos, other animals will mount another of the same sex and engage in seemingly "homosexual" behavior, although their motivation may differ. Dogs, for example, usually do so to express dominance. Cesar Ades, ethologist and professor of psychology at the University of S‹o Paulo, Brazil, explains, "When two males mate, what is present is a demonstration of power, not sex."[8]
chitownzfinesthustla 7 months ago
tolerant, perhaps because they use sex to divert attention and to diffuse tension.
Second, bonobo sex often occurs in aggressive contexts totally unrelated to food. A jealous male might chase another away from a female, after which the two males reunite and engage in scrotal rubbing. Or after a female hits a juvenile, the latter's mother may lunge at the aggressor, an action that is immediately followed by genital rubbing between the two adults.[7]
chitownzfinesthustla 7 months ago
There are two reasons to believe sexual activity is the bonobo's answer to avoiding conflict.
First, anything, not just food, that arouses the interest of more than one bonobo at a time tends to result in sexual contact. If two bonobos approach a cardboard box thrown into their enclosure, they will briefly mount each other before playing with the box. Such situations lead to squabbles in most other species. But bonobos are quite
chitownzfinesthustla 7 months ago
They "borrow," so to speak, the manifestations of the instinct of reproduction to manifest the instincts of dominance, aggressiveness, fear, gregariousness and so on.
-- Explaining Seemingly "Homosexual" Animal Behavior
Bonobos are a typical example of this "borrowing." These primates from the chimpanzee family engage in seemingly sexual behavior to express acceptance and other affective states. Thus, Frans B. M. de Waal, who spent hundreds of hours observing and filming bonobos, says.
chitownzfinesthustla 7 months ago
then they will reject the opposite sex when introduced.
Consequently, animals often express their affective states ambiguously.
chitownzfinesthustla 7 months ago
Zoos routinely pair up species of the same sex so unwanted breeding and fighting does not occur. Animals play the cards that nature deals them. So, they will exhibit homosexual "behavior". Why? Because there is no other option. And after being in this situation for some time, they will reject the opposite sex when introduced. Why? Because they're gay? Don't be ridiculous. Some species pair up with the same partner for life. So, if they were forced by the zoo to pair up with the same sex,
chitownzfinesthustla 7 months ago
A male and female bird mate and the female lays the eggs. The female leaves the nest and another male joins the "father" to help care for the eggs and raise the young. Does this mean the males are gay? Of course not. All it means is that during evolution, that species determined that males were more capable of protecting, feeding and teaching the young. The female was relegated to being just an egg dispenser.
chitownzfinesthustla 7 months ago
aggressiveness, fear, gregariousness and so on.

With animals that lack intellect and will, when two instinctive impulses clash, the one most favored by circumstances prevails.[4]
At times, these internal or external stimuli affecting an animal's instinctive impulses result in cases of animal "filicide," "cannibalism" and "homosexuality." To stimuli and clashing instincts, however, we must add another factor: In expressing its affective states, an animal is radically inferior to man.
chitownzfinesthustla 7 months ago
However, the spontaneous thrust of the instinctive impulse can suffer modifications as it runs its course. Other sensorial images, perceptions or memories can act as new stimuli affecting the animal's behavior. Moreover, the conflict between two or more instincts can sometimes modify the original impulse.
In man, when two instinctive reactions clash, the intellect determines the best course to follow, and the will then holds one instinct in check while encouraging

isn't the problem with negatively connotated words exactly that people "on one side" stop using it and so it is then only used - in this case by conservatives - in a negative context?
in my opinion, people who are so focused on everything being p.c. are completely missing the point. why not just, i don't know, focus on the CONTENT?

Homosexuals are retards if they think the word homo dehumanize people.
Homo means men. However its the word homo that is derogathory not homosexual. You don't go around calling people homosexuals if you want to insult them you call them homo, if you say homosexuals you are referencing their sexual attraction to men its not an insult.
BurnRoddy 8 months ago
@BurnRoddy I know my reply is a little late with your post being two weeks old, and I also agree with your overall point that the slang term "homo" is derogatory, not "homosexual," but I thought it was worth pointing out that the prefix "homo" does not mean "men," it actually means "same" (homo-sexual = same-sex). Conversely, the prefix "hetero" means "other" or "different." Anyways, I'm not trying to sound like a know-it-all, just sharing some knowledge.
fender412 7 months ago
Yes in biology it means same and hetero means another or different but in latin homo means men.
Homo sapiens means wise men or knowing man.
And thaks for understanding my point of view. I think we can all agree that stating a sexual preference doesn't demoralize anyone because it doesn't involve his/her personality.
BurnRoddy 7 months ago
@BurnRoddy Yea, about 5 minutes after posting that, I looked and found out about the Latin meaning; something I was completely unaware of. So sorry about that. Here's the thing about banning words... if a person has a problem with a particular term being applied to themselves then they also think the meaning is somehow negative.
So if this person had a problem with the word he has a problem with the meaning. Their own negative thought about themselves are being reflected in that word.

Oh, nice!
Long live idiocy!
SwineNahNah 8 months ago
I have two problems: 1) having to identify as any *sexual designation is limiting to human sexuality which is often too varied and dynamic to be rigidly defined.
2) "Homosexuals" aren't the only ones whose sexuality is under attack from heteronormativity.
Conchobhar 8 months ago 2
@Conchobhar BWHAHAAHHAAH "heteronormativity" You say that like heteronormativity is bad. Accepted or not, heterosexuality is the biological norm.
But back to topic. homosexual should be fine because it's descriptive of gays and lesbians. Saying "gays and lesbians" is more wordy. I'm with cenk on this one.
eightball8008 8 months ago
@eightball8008 Look up heteronormativity. While you're at it, why not also look up "normal"?
Conchobhar 8 months ago
@eightball8008 - Heterosexuality is NOT "the biological norm." Nowhere is there research to support that claim. If you haven't studied any biology beyond the high school level then I recommend that you take a few classes and you may be interested to know that sexuality is quite varied, indeed.
I rarely put my field on these posts but I will today, I AM a biological scientist and I can tell you that your post is wholly incorrect.
Archimedesthread 8 months ago 10
@Archimedesthread My friend you don't need research to know that male birds have sex with female birds. As does every other macroscopic creature on the planet.
Sure, the occasional deer might hump another male deer in the forest. Does a baboon get frisky with one of the guys every now and then? Yes. But how do the overwhelming majority of vertebrates produce viable offspring? The answer is clearly male and female mating.
Your biology degree doesn't mean bollocks if you can't tell that much.
eightball8008 8 months ago
@Archimedesthread A biological scientist who spends their time on YT watching lady Gaga videos and chasing trolls? Doubt it.
HarunDanyal 7 months ago
@Archimedesthread The "biological norm" referred to here probaqbly means male and female of a similar species required to reproduce offspring. Sexuality of a nonreproductive nature is what you are referring to. I am aware of the term "parthenogenesis", but that involves life forms of a lower order-amoeba, etc.

theotherguy245689 7 months ago
@Archimedesthread in a way it is the norm because if it was if homosexuality was the norm then there would be noticeably less people all I'm says is heterosexuality is more normal and closer to the mold of an average person last time i checked the demographics 5-10% are gay or lesbian so 90-95 are straight.so straight is the norm but homosexuality is curtainly not to be scauffed or outcasted its just genes that happen to turn on or off
standunk 7 months ago
@Archimedesthread lol if its not then dude why are we still around? because reproduction is not a do it if you feel like it its a fucking necessity bitch without we die off so plz stop this oh animals are gay thing if you were a biological scientist which i highly doubt you would know applying human terms to animal behavior is retard
chitownzfinesthustla 7 months ago
@Archimedesthread No.
Consequently, they cannot be called animal instincts.
chitownzfinesthustla 7 months ago
These observable exceptions to normal animal behavior result from factors beyond their instincts.
-- Clashing Stimuli and Confused Animal Instincts
To explain this abnormal behavior, the first observation must be the fact that animal instincts are not bound by the absolute determinism of the physical laws governing the mineral world. In varying degrees, all living beings can adapt to circumstances. They respond to internal or external stimuli.
chitownzfinesthustla 7 months ago
Second, animal cognition is purely sensorial, limited to sound, odor, touch, taste and image. Thus, animals lack the precision and clarity of human intellectual perception. Therefore, animals frequently confuse one sensation with another or one object with another.
Third, an animal's instincts direct it towards its end and are in accordance with its nature.
chitownzfinesthustla 7 months ago
