Judging by those, it looks like it can be really hard to hear what Ellen's saying. Either the earpiece has a problem or the screaming fans in the studio make it hard to hear what Ellen's telling you to do.

She might not have been able to hear or make out what's being said. Could have been a technical issue for all you know.

Don't go jumping to conclusions. :)
