i think its interesting to compare drug free kids who lived before Prozac and haldol with todays psych med inspired kids. its true the audio was experimental.. they didn't know about decibels and hearing response curves.. or maybe they knew but ignored it..
she makes the audience feel that if she could see how much they can love, that they could win her with the feeling she gives them with her songs about desperate need for affection. god i want to show her the powerful feelings in my mind
Janis will always be my Idol,, She had a lot of Soul & A beautiful voice!! She is one of a kind & I can't wait to see her in Heaven :) RIP with the rest of the angels !!
A powerful woman vocalist. A bright star whose light shone too briefly in this world. RIP Janis. Thanks for posting this gem. BTW, the sound volume is perfect.
wwwgreatbuyoutletscom wwwtopfuelsavercom lying awake at night, sometimes-not reslessly, but serenely, waitng for sleep-the quiet re-establishes itself, piece by piece; all the broken bits, all the frgments of it w've been so busily dispering all day long. It re-establishes itself, an inward quiet, like this outward quiet of grass and trees. It fills one; it grows, it becomes more perfect; it is beautiful and terrifying, as well as beautiful. For one's alone in the crystal and there's no support
It's so sad that she died so young. I would have loved to see her in person. Maybe in sprit someday. I get the chills real bad each time I here her voice. If you listen to a lot of her music that she wrote you could tell her life would end soon.
That girl gave it all and the brief pan of the audience tells it all in their rapt attention.Such intensity you can't turn away. Be at peace Janis for you are cradled in love.
I m sure you knew your walk here on earth would be short and so you gave everything you had. The way you sing makes me feel like if you only sung to me but the reality is that you are singing to the whole world, for the humanity, and probably, for the eternity !!
I love the Chantel's version.....had no idea the Shangri-Las did this one too! Wow...gotta hear that. But Janis was the first I ever heard to do this song. This album (Kozmic Blues) was one of the first I ever had. Seems like yesterday....gosh Im gettin up there in age hehe!! But this album means a whole lot to me personally. To a lot of people. Makes me FEEL so much and still to this day makes me cry sometimes. People just love Janis. Thanks for posting. Subbed ya btw. ~Peace "Jenny"
Just awful ..she strangles the life out of every song she touches ...trying to make every verse / note an overblown epic ...Dusty Springfield understood the importance of light and shade something Joplin never understood .
@nolslifegren .."...importance of light and shade something Joplin never understood."...I think she understood it but she rejected it for heart felt soul...instead of being a 'stylist'..
You want a lounge singer take yr UK 2nd grader...go ahead...but you want Rockn Soul...its Janis
@nolslifegren Baby you have not ears...OMG!!!! Listen to accurately....Light and shade...She did it And believe me listen with your soul while she sings....Little girl blue...Go on!!!
this song is amazing, in the minut 2,16 the note she make is the best of the best, em posar els pels de punta..., for me the best singer of all the time, a rose for you
Wow, the emotional look she had on her face, watching the band, during those small moments, were just precious & I'm so happy to have seen this side of her. Just amazing.

With the exception of some mezzo soprano divas in opera, Janis is the greatest female singer ever...It's not fair to compare opera to the blues and rock; it's just that her caliber of the kind of music she blessed us with is on par with soprano singers. And I was named after Janis. She was mesmerizing and her voice had so much range. Singers today, like the epitome of the bad example, Taylor Swift, are an incredible joke in comparison to these real artists.

There are 2-songs she was able to sing to me (her baby) "Maybe",,, & especially "My Farewell". My mom was clever enough and strong-willed enough, to sneak these songs past her manager.
@SeekTruthNOW I know that I will someday soon see Her in Heaven, and the wounds this old-world has left upon both our souls, will all be healed and we'll be whole, by Heaven's Light of unity within Love, and alas we'll be Free.
