I have 2 monitors at the moment but now need a third one. Can you tell me if I just need another graphics card to do it or is there something else that I need?
I have 3 hp 22' monitors and I think that's my limit as far as size goes. I'll just add more 22' monitors. You can turn them slightly so your viewing angle is much better than on one large screen. I would suggest keeping them all one size though; and don't forget the ultramon software to manage them all (much better than xp/vista's multiple monitor utilities. My Hp's are currently $230. Get em' cheap, stock 'em deep. Make sure you have adequate ram, to cover all the open apps (4gb is good)
ohhhhhhhhh yessssssssss, MAC PRO 2008 in Overclocking, 32gb of RAM DDR3 (2000MHZ), 8 Cores Intel XEON, 2 blu ray units (1080P), I now have 3!! APPLE CINEMA DISPLAY!!! ANDDDDDDDDDDDDDD 3 NVIDIA 9800 GTX (1GB DDR3 - ULTRA SLi).....ANDDDDDDDDDDDD iLIFE 09, iWORK 09, iPHONE AND its shit....
It isnt really a pc when you hve that much more ram!! it is an independent server. This is the kind of ram that will be used to power the whole network at your schools, workplaces etc!!
You need 32GB RAM for Virtual Machines, I run about 4 VMs at a time on my MacBook Pro 13"" I have a 2.53 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo 4GB RAM. I like to run Ubuntu (latest version always) 64-bit, Windows 7 Ultimate (or latest)64-bit, and Windows XP Professional 32-Bit (for older stuff). I also sometimes run Ubuntu Server Edition 64-Bit for some things. My Mac OS is Snow Leopard 64-bit (not ever sure is Snow Leopard 32-bit exists).
I have 3 23" 16:10 monitors all tipped 90 degrees with a fourth 19" monitor on top. For a combined screen resolution of; 3600x1920+1024x768. I use them for everything.
A lot of people say they'd rather have one large screen than multiple monitors, but there's a huge difference. One big screen is much better for watching video, but four screens is pretty much 3-4 times the resolution as an HDTV, depending on the size. You can't view 4 screens on an HDTV the same way you can use multiple monitors. The windows will be asmaller resolution and you won't see all the data on the screen. Multiple Monitors are for Multi-tasking and business, and HDTVs are for Video.
i use my mouse and keyboard on two different comps because i can't get it set up with a mac and my pc because i keep entering the coding in terminal wrong x.x

I'm using a normal dual monitor setup,
with a 18.5" screen 16.9
and a 17" screen 4.3
basically they are almost the same size..
oh and, you having 4 monitors doesn't really count as a super PC..

I haven't been able to find any USB solution that supports 1920x1200 across three monitors - anyone know of one?
brigsata 3 years ago
The top monitor seems to have a different contrast ratio but then again that could be the viewing angle or just the contrast/brightness settings.

a 30" monitor is much better than those 4 19" monitors
olesto 3 years ago
That depends on what you are using it for. Personally I have three 27" LCds and it's pretty awesome. I think Al Gore uses three 30" LCDs.

@SuperPCMart I agree, it's hard to multitask neatly with one large monitor although Win7 does help with this using their snap and stack features.
pinkfloydeffect 1 year ago
@SuperPCMart Not true for the 30" 2560x1600 monitors. They have more pixel area than four 1080p monitors.
