Laci I'm so glad your doing these videos but I wanted to tell you I had gotten my makeup brushes at costco they are affordable and do a great job and are super soft.
When my brushes get scratchy, I wash them with my facial cleanser and then let them air dry by letting the handle lay on the counter with the brush part sticking over the edge (so as not to change the shape when it drys.) If I wash them in the morning after use they are dry for the next day. I wash them probably every three weeks or so.
You shouldn't wash them on the side. Always upside down because the water will still be in there. You should watch michelle phans clean brushes video.
You don't have to do it that way but I'm just letting you know.
Hey this is a fun new channel you have! I was going to send you a facebook message but figured others may want to hear about this as well. If you go to your local craft there is a brand of actual paint brushes by Lowe Cornell, look for the Maxine Mop collection they have a purple handle and white brushes, they are comparable to the MAC brushes and some say even better for just a few dollars! I got a bunch of these and love them! So soft and really hold up after washing! I highly recommend them!
hey have you tried washing your brushes with warm water and face wash and letting them air dry, b/c mine would always get scratchy feeling after a while and washing them really well seemed to help alot!! Just an idea tho!!
you should check out the sigma makeup brushes...i have all of them and i love them...they look and work just like the mac ones but they are alot cheaper.
The elf studio brushes are great.. just like the once you bought the black handles elf ones are better :) you are going to love that too face stuff it's great..you know nyx was having a big sale online everything was 1.00..btw the warm palette rocks.
I think the sale ended Sunday or Monday :( next time I will let ya know...this is my second time shopping on that sale my first time everything was 3.00 now they where 1.00..I so got my hands on that lol haven't gotten it yet.
Hey this has nothing to do w/brushes BUT i know you are all about the inexpensive makeup products. I went to CVS last night (not sure if you have a CVS where you are) and they had thier Loreal Bare Naturale eyeliner powder for 75% off! I got 2 bottles for 2.49 a piece! Regular price 9.99. They come with a brush and are AWESOME! i got Cocoa and Olive (all they had left), you might want to check it out! everyone else too!! LOL!!
@MakeupLovinMomma YES!! They wil let you return it. Both of these were great, super pigmented and the brush is good too. Both colors have a bit of sparkle to them. there was a bunch of stuff on 75% off. They had moved it all to the very bottom, close to the floor and it all had a big neon green sticker on them.
Great Vid! I've also been getting into makeup alot lately because of you girls on here lol. Since I am friends with you and andre and michelle who all are doing make-up and beauty vids!
I have the Sigma brush set and LOVE them! They are compared to MAC brushes by a lot of youtube makeup gurus. I'm somewhat "new" to makeup too - I've worn it for about 10 yrs but just started getting into doing it properly and buying higher end stuff in the last year or so. The Sigma brushes have really taken my makeup skill to a whole new level - they make a huge difference! I use the stippling brush for my foundation and it gives a beautiful airbrushed look. Check them out!
I will def. check that out, thank you!! I would love to able to get MAC but I would never pay the price for them so this would be a perfect alternative :) Thank you!!
Something else you might want to give a try. As far as a foundation brush, not sure if you are thinking about those or not, but try using a stiff blush brush to apply your foundation. I have a foundation brush but I much prefer using a blush brush for my foundation application. Also as for the elf concealer brush, I never use it as that. I use it to apply my cream eyeliner to my waterline, which works amazing for that. Oh and have you tried the Elf studio line brushes, they are ALOT better!
yes defintely invest on brushes, i make my own primer, its very easy. i will make a how to later. n i deep clean my brushes so itll last longer. and also u might wanna invest on the stippling brush from mac, its good when it comes to applying ur foundation evenly.
elf studio line's flat top powder brush is AWESOME!
I still like elf's eyeshadow brush =)
Target has brushes by Studio Tools & I have the medium e/s brush + smudge brush and they're both relatively cheap =)
I love Sonia Kashuk too!
Sigma brushes are good alternative to mac brushes. Much more cheaper!
For the 88 palette, the shipping sucks but it's cheaper on ebay =\ I just recently purchased the warm palette for $21 (finally found someone in the US and not Hong Kong that sells it)
I've heard great things about the too faced shadow insurance! Have you heard of the Sigma brushes? I think the brush kit without the brush roll is around 70 dollars, and it comes with 12 brushes that are apparently comparable to MAC brushes. You should check them out! I don't think I can post a link, but just search "sigma brushes" into Google if you'd like to check them out! :)
Where did you buy the make-up geek brush, what exactly is the brush called, and how much was it? I have tried several blush brushes and found that they were too soft, so it would be great to get a good one.
i have two of those elf brushes and they work really good for me:)

A way to make them feel softer again at least for the eye brushes is to wash them out with soap and water but wash them with eye makeup remover too.
