  • sorry to say, the shot doesnt look good, its a bit of an underextraction... try harder

  • What is the grinder setting?

  • I have one of these. It is superb. Beautiful and functional. I use Lavazza beans and grind at 2.5. With it's integral grinder, the domus bar makes other coffee machines seem amateurish. After loading up on espresso, I have a big cappucino - lovely!

  • Yeah, I got one recently too. I have been gridning my beans at 4.5, But I have a metal tamper and pack it tightly. It works well with lots of crema. I have been home roasting my own Sweet Maria beans. Do you tamp it tightly? When I have tried a lower grinder setting, it seems to struggle. Perhaps, I should try it with lighter tamping.

  • Not over-tightly as the pressure shoots up too high and mere drips of coffee are made. I may try rough ground/tightly packed some time but it is working so well consistently that I fear change! It is a tough machine. I have had mine about four years and it has only had one bit of maintenance (DIY rubber seal on coffee group) even though I use it every day.
