@sporeprints Would Oyster Mushrooms clean up an oil (chemical) dump? It's an old quarry that was once filled with water but is now crusted over. Local council have been quoted 100 million to clean it up. Do you think it's possable and how would best be done?
Oyster mushrooms are extremely efficient. I would definitely consider it an option. It has been proven in the field. You can contact Mushroom Mountain if you want any assistance, we can consult or advise at any level. Where are you located and where can I find some information about the brownfield?

These Lentinus lepideus for remediation would not be edible, but can be used to hyperaccumulate. The fruiting bodies can be disposed of at political luncheons...
@sporeprints That is quit possibly the best idea I've ever heard in my life. Mushroom cultivators need to keep our study's under the radar, you know what happened to the electric car. They want to finish pumping all the oil out of the earth before they even consider anything else, same will probably happen with mushroom. They shit themselves if they find out we're learning to be self sufficient.

I would not eat mushrooms grown on copper arsenate treated lumber. Their arsenic content might be huge.
