Conservatism derives from human nature and thus can appeal to both sectarian and secular. Linking it to religious belief only helps alienate those of a more secular nature who might not understand how it applies to them. How do you boil that down for a 30-second ad? Still working on that.

Fred worked harder than any other candidate in Iowa over the last several weeks. His 17-day bus tour drove over 4,000 miles holding events in over 50 cities and he did numerous TV and Radio interviews in between those events. Don't buy the media's "lazy" line- Fred's working very hard for this. He is also the only candidate with conservative positions on every issue, so he can unite the GOP in November.
I gotta say, this is one of the few guys who is less flash and more "real" sounding than the other ones I am seeing. I know they are all politicians so its taken with a grain of salt but Fred seems to be the only one who is actually representing the conservative line, both moral and fiscal. I probably won't vote for him, but that's mainly because he's not a front runner. Though, it was a very heartening commercial--it's good to be reminded every so often.

i agree that that is what is laid down in the preamble, but the "creator" mentioned is nothing as specific as the christian concept of god (which has very specific characteristics like jealousy, vindictiveness etc). jefferson and most of the founding fathers were well-educated secular deists and would be turning in their graves if they saw the nation polarizing like today.
