my opinion is that he probably dictated the letters to a helper... if he was especially meticulous he probably would have known that a letter he wrote, no matter how carefully, could probably be linked to him by writing analysis, whereas a letter written by an accomplice would never be linked to him and might even clear him if he was arrested and his writing compared. Just my theory.

"Spray em" sounds like a military type of phrase, in reference to area-fire. Sometimes in battle there's no time or purpose for aiming precisely. Instead, you point in the general direction of your enemy and shoot along with your fellow comrades until you have an area-covering spray of pouring lead.

Zodiac was never trying to be a sharpshooter, he didn't try THAT HARD, he was merely concerned with hitting his target and capitalizing from each shot that took effect.

second; you have not pointed out the obvious 'affected' overall tone of the letters and the frankly 'effeminate' tone - this coupled with the liking for musical theatre (with a seafaring theme), the use of navel codes and the SF location, indicate he may well be homosexual...

in a very hasty fashion compared to the carefull attention spent on the cypher?

One can never take seriously anyone who posts diplomas and rugs on their walls. Mr. Van Nuys is seriously ill and should seek therapy and begin a course of appropriate psychotherapeutic drugs. Folks who feel a need to post diplomas on a wall are typically lacking self-esteem and seek to use the diplomas as talismans of self-worth and symbology to others of one's value.

@markaskin Actually, his title is DR. Van Nuys. And, we can be sure that he was a superior student. College dropouts don't earn degrees such as those which he displays. This psychologist is serious about the case and is trying to make a difference. Anybody who has an issue with what he is doing here has a PROBLEM.

ino how people create them.all kinds of people all threw hsiroy have. u ahve 2 make a code for each letter fer your symbols and right it in the symbols.the prob is ppl dont ahve the codes
