Im not his biggest fan or anything but Man the guy has taken so much shit in his career, you have to admire his dignity and the character he has shown throughout. Capello absolutley humiliated him in his final season at madrid and the guy turned around, put his head down and worked even harder and he got his la liga medal in the end. I hope he gets to finish with england on the big stage at the world cup next summer, he deserves it. he can put the ball on a fucking two pence piece!

robbie, beckham is no talisman but he has scored imprtant goals and worked hard in an average team....it's a team game remember. Let's not forget that 'world class' Gerrard has never performed for England and he is in the position to be the real engine of the team. Your obvious hatred for beckham makes a mockery of your judgement...it's not a toss up between greatness and nothingness....the man has done his best in a technically backwards set-up. correct me if wrong but here are the 25 goals that VN scored to win real the title that year and Beckham was invloved in precisely 0 of them. How does that tally with his fans claiming he "led them" to the title? Bro, I`m a barca fan and I watched every single game of Barca and real madrid for the past 10 years and I can tell u that beckham was often the only madrid player trying and working when things went sour for them. He was instrumental to Ronaldo and every set piece was a real danger when he took them. No he`s not as skilled as zidane but every time he had the ball on the flank u could bet ur house that a quality cross would be provided. He changed my mind: he`s not all marketing like i thought.

you see, ive watched all his england games and this mythology about his "crosses". He NEVER provided one in the truly big games, never v aregntina or brazil or italy etc. He makes one cross from a 90 minute match about once every other year and it gets stupidly overplayed. Other players who arent even in the team to provide service do assist crosses and its barely mentioned. If youd seen Beckham fail to impact a single 1 of 5 majors then youd agree that at least 90% IS marketing.

2-I won't compare the talent of beckham to Zidane but becks had more assists for real than zizou (i know a lot of set pieces but that proves my point on his crosses).
3- I remember from memory A LOT of Ruud's goals that were created by becks (even if they weren't counted as assists officialy)...

furthermore, even now that becks is rotting in AC milan I wouldnt take anybody over becks for free kicks, corners and other set pieces. Again, i am not a fan particularly of Becks but by watching him everyweek for Real I can attest that he is not only marketing: sure valdano brought him for that, that i won't question, but he did deliver with real madrid. I would even say that 1 of 4 goals where directly contributed by him specially for the first two years that he was in spain.

i would certainly take anybody over Beckham having watched him waste EVERY free-kick attempt on goal hes ever had at wembley since 1996 without ever hitting the target. And in 15 years, he never proved capable of beating a top class nations keeper from one of his smply innumerable efforts. HOw on Earth did he "deliver" for madrid when in 4 years in europe, they never once did anything having been champions just before he arrived? I saw him v arsenal in 06 over 2 legs and he was a joke.

listen becks played only 23 league games (injury) and in those games he assisted RVN (oficially or not) at least 2-3 goals. remember lots of penaltys for ruud and lots of goals unassisted. type Ruud van Nistelrooy - The perfect striker and ull find a video of his league goals. there was at least 3 that i could identify becks providing him.

weve been a good team on occassions, chiefly in euro2004 when we were led by rooney,lampard,owen etc but the ludicrous beckham fcked it up again for everyone else withh is clownery. Its utter cr$p to suggest england would have been "nowhere" without beckham, his presence playing to his style was the very reason we were so toothless against top quality consistently. We played well in 96 before he was in, well in 04 when he was a joke and we look good now hes sat on the bench.
