Although I've never played this game before, I know the plot of the game is about L helping an agent to solve a case. This is before the story depicted on Death Note (thus the name "The Prologue to Death Note). So it's not likely for Light to appear here.

B is like the antagonist and also one of L's successors.B tries to prove that he is better than L so he makes a case that even L cant solve.A it doesnt say much about him.

Actually this game isnt that hard to figure out. Basically its mostly visual as its point and click to work your way out of the trapped building, then point and click to diffuse the hidden bombs. simple trial & error
