I had a 71 Chevelle. 350 engine--about 390 horsepower. Yes.... major work done.I sold it to a young kid due to financial problems and he wrecked it 3 weeks later. He sold the 4 American Racing Mags for $100. It was like a child to me. Glad you got it back :)

OMG the same thing happen to my 1969 ss chevelle sold it and ask to buy it back 3yrs later and was told it got wrapped around a gas pump in brighton mich. the motor was picked and car crushed. at38yrs old then I had tears in my eyes. I still think about it to this day. so glad to see you got yours back

Awesome story man. My uncle had a '71 Chevelle too, not and SS but he had repainted it red with the black SS strips, he loved that car. He sold it to pay for bills and he hoped to buy it back as-well. We saw the car years later in a parking lot and the kid he sold it too just abused it and the paint was all faded out... his heart dropped :(

I sold my 1970 Trans-Am once so I could restore my 69 Hurst/Olds. I followed that car for Six years and three owner's later and a lot of over time I bought her back. I got lucky, I'll never do that again. Never sell your love.

I sold my 1970 Trans-Am once so I could restore my 69 Hurst/Olds. I followed that car for Six years and three owner's later and a lot of over time I bought her back. I got lucky, I'll never do that again. Never sell your love.

First off, AWESOME CAR!! GM CONQUERS ALL!!! Secondly, amazing that you got your car back after that long. Thirdly, I think it looked better without the tips, but still awesome with 'em. And lastly, AWESOME CAR!!!!
