Presumably a bentusi & council fleet in order to force the remaining taiddan fleet to flee and secure peace on Hiigara

Actually, that one "lavaship" was actually the mothership of a race that was going to be included in the game, T-MAT. Unforntunately, they were not included in the final game. The Planet-Killers from Homeworld 2 were also based off the original T-MAT mothership design.

The best part is when Cptain Elson arrives. When he arrived I had two fleets attacking my mothership, and fleet intellingence said something like "Another fleet is emerging from hiperspace above us, we are being overwhelmed!", then this music started, and then I they spoke as friendly ships. It was absolutely epic.

it woud been more fun if the eperor woud talk a littel bit more here:P He just dies without saying annything. Maybee say somthing revealing or some kind of thretening... But i wont complain;)

There were probably a communication breakdown due to the action of our agents undercover inside the ship.

I'd be willing to do a walkthrough for Homeworld Cataclysm since I pretty much finished the game, although I need some help figuring out what program I should use to record it.

Obviously thats the shortened version of how I did it and obviously I got other stuff besides support frigates and attack bombers.

Yeah, I had those ships at the opening. Fended off the first wave with the mothership getting pretty torn up. During that battle i was getting resources and I got more support frigates and attack bombers. Soon Captain Elson came round and gave me units then it became easier.

Passed it today with those ships :) took me about 7 times.

I find that rather doubtful, I cant see you having enough attack and repair abilities to keep the mothership alive through the starting attack.

If that was your fleet after the opening then ok, there are plenty of resources (Around 20k) in the two nearby fields to rebuild your fleet.

Well...I'm bonered at this mission...because I've only got 4 ion frigates, 3 assault frigates, 4 destroyers, 2 missile destroyers, 1 support frigate, 2 harvesters and 1 mobile resourcer....I've only got 152 RU aswell...

You dont have enough firepower to beat this level, go back to the level where you lost most your fleet and try to save whatever you can.

If you need help doing a level with as few losses as possible just pm me.

highly recomend mission 14 (with the ion frigate sheel) - and by salvagin boosting your ranks

With the epic battle, defected vessels adding to your reinforcements, and Adiago for Strings being played, this brings tears to my eyes.

Agreed, the music, timing and speech is absolutly perfect.

The only other epic moment like that was the appearance of the planet killers on Homeworld 2.

when you have a fleet that compacted don't you have alot of trouble with friendly fire?

The odd few shots hit each other, but most of the ships are smart enough to get out of the way.

However, when you add around 40 strike craft on both sides it does become somewhat of an issue.
