She's talking about non-sexual open relationships. In this scenario, there is no possibility of having a child outside of the relationship because you are still choosing to have sex with only one person. The emphasis, really, is on being completely open and honest with your significant other. And on feeling free to tell your partner about any feelings of attraction or love you may have towards others, while still choosing monogamy.

bringing more people to the relationship seems like it would cause more problems especially when children are involved what happens if he has a child with another woman or you have a child by another man? it kind of reminds me of polygamy just on both side's i'm not knocking you to each there own i just don't see how that would work at all
