Oh brother - its ALWAYS the man's fault.... I recall that Zelensky had some really major back surgery around this time. One must remember that so-called "supported" pirouettes are a dual effort. Any ballerina who depends 100% on her partner in this particular step is a fool. Anyway it could be a simple matter of traction - if one looks closely it appears that she spun out from under herself, as her supporting leg moved considerably forward as she turned.
that pirouette could have been saved. There's no reason she should have hit the floor. a little push with his right hand and she could have been put back onto her balance.
I think her partner didn't give her enough support! Her supporting leg started to fall apart, but her partner didn't give her extra support to get her back on her supporting leg!
Maria has very good reputation. She dances very accurately and precisely.

Even if she fell, her performance before that incident was really good. She is a very capable dancer despite the mishap

Maria was very young, when danced it dance. Her partner was I.Zelenski from Mariinsky Theater. They had no joint rehearsals before this performance.
Everyone recollect this episode as a cheerful, funny thing.
