I have a 97 sport. Of course they get stuck! I'm been stuck many times. They are tough as hell though. I have almost 400k and even the tranny still works perfect.
jeeps drivetrains are damn near bulletproof if taken care of. i knw i own a 92 cherokee 4wd 4.0 ho. that thing is fun to offroad in. their small but tough as hell. their like compact suvs on roids ha.
And that's why you should always carry a "snatch strap", rather than a tow chain. Can you see how the strap stretches, allowing the momentum of the Jeep to work, rather than the chain suddenly coming tight, and breaking something. It's the stretch in the strap that does the work! Just make sure the strap is rated for enough pull. I carry a 50,000lb strap myself.
Iam new with the offroadind in vehicles, when one step further an got me a JEEP!,the best damn truck i have ever had,I have 200,000 plus miles on my jeep still runs like new,and might i ask everyone,How come jeeps never get stuck?,just a mystery, and whats funny is everyone talks down to the jeep name when were the ones alwayz pulling the other trucks out that are not jeep lol
@bluewolfsoldier1987 your right everytime i go mudding i always get downtalk because everyone i knw have 4x4 trucks with lifts and whatnot and i got a jeep but in the end its always me having to pull them out haha my jeep is stock with at tires but its so light i hardly get stuck now since most of my friends saw the way a jeep performs 1st hand when they ride with me they all want to sell their trucks and get a jeep. not to mention their fast too ha
I am new to all of this, but isn't it bad to yank like that? When I use to go with my brother and we went mudding, they would slowly ease the tension out of the chain them give it their all, when asked why they said because you could break stuff doing it that way or bend the frame.
its always been like that with jeeps no one thinks they can do anything cuz there small but damn they dont quit i got a 94 zj with about 365 hp i luv it i wont ever get rid of it
... You're a queer with an all stock Cherokee, tires, and ALTEZZA tail lights, saying Chevy sucks? Seriously?! ALTEZZA FUCKING TAIL LIGHTS?! Don't get me wrong, I LOVE Jeeps, but you are a FAGGOT! LOL And to tell you the truth, I've gone through more shit with my stepside (a project) and bald ass all terrains than my previous two XJs, lifted, with mud tires! Lose those fag tails and take it off the street just once in your life, then maybe, MAYBE, you can talk. LOL
I love XJ's... they pack a lot of punch for being such a little thing. Much tougher than they look. You almost have to own one yourself to know what they're capable of doing.
that chevy has no need to be out there look at it its as tall as a 2 wheeler

light as hell, you're talking just over 3000 pounds!
i think an XJ is the perfect 4x4. with the exception of a few components. like the dana 35c. i hope i don't bust of those out in the boonies
tainterlakeisgreen 3 years ago
Why not upgrade it with either the XJs dana 44 or even the XJs Chrysler 8.25? Direct bolt in.
countryboy262i6 2 years ago
yeah thats why it's best to find a tow package jeep with the dana 44.
