this song reminds me when I was in first grade and I would miss the bus! My mom would have to drive me to school and this song was always on the radio during my ride... Good Times!!!!!!
This song sounded so trippy when it first came out. It was unlike anything else at the time. It was all texture and atmosphere with little attention to musicality. An attempt to create pop music as art that I think succeeded. Sadly, I feel Nick Rhodes was artistically depleted after this because this was the statement he had wanted to make all along. Once you make your statement what do you say next? Why bother to talk at all when you got money, respect and women.
Does anyone know anything about the garbled voices that sound like distorted short wave transmissions that intersperce this song? I have wanted to know for 2 and a half decades!
The production values of this song owe a HUGE debt to George Martin, of Beatles fame. Were it not for, "I Am the Walrus" this song, this studio trickery, would not exist.

Faz muito tempo que escutei essa música e pensei que fosse do Duran Duran... mas era na verdade de um projeto paralelo (dissidente).

Did anyone else love when Duran Duran split into Arcadia and The Power Station?
karlmoles65 1 year ago 2
@karlmoles65 Not really, but the guys needed to spread their wings a bit!

@Saralv I thought Power Station was amazing, and Arcadia was very good too.

I only found out last week that this ISN'T a Duran Duran song; in essence it is, but it would be nicer if it was 'officially' a DD song ;)

I always loved this song by Arcadia when I first heard it back in 1985 and after 25 years it is still a great song.

A good verse from Grace Jones capped this Fairlight driven pop song off well
