@susanwesla Thank you very much for your reply and offer. I am will have to pass on your offer to sell me chaga since I collect it my self whenever I am in woods, and currently I have a few kilos of that wonderful tasting and miracle fungus.
You guys are again overlooking that making tea just like this is not going to have any health effects.
It should brew for 8 - 10 hours, before the chitin mushroom cells have released the polysaccharides and the other good stuff. That's why the Siberians used their samovar - it was on the fire for the whole day and that's how they benefitted from it - they were in their own way 'extracting' .
People cannot digest raw mushrooms! Making tea for 5-10 minutes like this will taste OK but that's it.
@SIBALD When I'm at home I brew it for 4 to 5 hours slowly cooking it at the low temperature adding water from time to time. But in the wild there is simply no time for a such sport... I brew it for an odd hour and for me tastes excellent. Thank you for your input but can you support your 8 to 10 hour by providing source. Thank you.
@nedeljkomostar Thanks for getting back to me, I have most of my Chaga information from this website oriveda dot com, they have a great resources section with pdf's and the page where they give background about Chaga and Chaga supplements was pretty enlightening for me as well.
I used to buy raw Chaga on Ebay but it didn't really do anything for me + was pretty expensive, so I tried supplements and ended up with these oriveda guys. They know a lot about heir stuff and are very helpful.
@wawhiker At the bushcraftusa forum where my nickname is ron_in I posted some pics and a bit more info about chaga.... There is the link I put in description under above video.
Kad odes tamo idi na Bushcraft USA Forums > Skills > Bush Medicine > Chaga or Birch fungus. Moje korisnicko ime tamo je ron_in.
@steintanz It has a specific taste that I haven't found in any other drink, food, or anything else but, for me, it's beautiful. I love it. Moreover it has many medicinal properties. I added some of them in description of the video. Thanks for visiting.
@SkogKniv I didn't have time to boil it longer, usually you simmer it for an hour and a half or two and after that it comes dark dark brown in color and thicker then coffee. But the flavor is something you have to experience since I really can't describe it. Go for it bud and you will see.
Thanks for the video, I have some on the stove brewing now. I collected some chaga for the 1st time yesterday and am anxious to try it.

Hello Zoran! This tea looks very good.
Is it possible to describe the taste or is there anything that tastes similar?

@Waldhandwerk Hallo Sepp! Chaga ist bei uns scheins nicht auffindbar, eher Richtung Skandinavien ... oder weißt du was Genaueres dazu?
