  • NO IT'S NOT IT'S THAT GIRL WHO PLAYS NYLAH ON THE LION KING! IT DOESN'T EVEN SOUND LIKE WILLOW

  • It's willow smith

  • Lol I love my hair. Why you people waste your time making dumb comments eludes me.

  • @gbotbo55 Knew there was a matter of time that the ignorance would appear. Nobody cares what you feel or think, if you have an issue with African American people that's your problem and your stupidity. So, do us all a favor and your keep your ignorant and despirate attempts for attention for other videos where people can "go there" with you. Because I'm not the one, and I know black is beautiful.

  • But I liked it because it was funny but I think its cazy. Will one of you send me a message please. Ok lol lol lol

  • That's stupid

  • Wow, I love my hair too. Cute lol

  • The head wobble at 1:10 is just so cute!

  • Is Willow Smith doing the voiceover for this? Just a thought :)

  • this is great. I loveeeeeeeeeeeee my hair to. I will never put a relaxer in it or anything, I love it's naturally curly pattern and wouldn't trade it for any other texture everrrrr.

  • that girl need a perm.

  • @si1verm0th NO SHE DOES NOT MY FRIEND RUINED HER HAIR BY DOING THAT

  • My oldest neice wants her hair to be natural because she sees me my sis her daughters and my mom natural but her mom said no. FOR SHAME

  • lol FINALLY TEACH BLACK GIRL TO LEAVE IT AS IT IS!!!

  • how cute was this!? LOL

  • i love my hair!

  • Love this , all kids need to see this x

  • This is so cute!

  • Sesame Street producers are so intune with society...

  • This shouldve came out when I was six lol!

  • When I was younger I was so stubborn. I refused to get my hair straightened. I've only had it straight for three years now. I'm sixteen, I decided to straighten it for a change and I hated combing it course. But I might go back one day. I'm glad I didn't start this though younger, its expensive and tedious.

  • This is great and it's about time! The sad truth, though, is that if MOTHERS don't embrace a love for natural hair, then they can't pass on that love to their girls. Girls this age don't have much say in whether or not they keep their own texture.

  • so cute <3

  • I'm natural 8months in now! A little relaxer still left on the ends. I'm so excited about this. I love this video. I hope it encourages young children not to relax. I still wear it straight...i just flat iron it. I haven't worn it puffy kinky afro yet. I'm scared but I'm gonna do it...one day. Love yall!

  • lol this is too funny but cute. its so sad that even little girls have pressure to "look good" that we have to counter it w something positive like this. why is our society such chaos? this is a good thing frm sesame st!

  • Bobbing my head..."I really, really, really love my hair!" This is great!

  • I think this is just super adorable. And Sesame Street is always on trend. It's cute how this came out around the time of Willow Smith's song.

  • I think she loves her hair.

  • Haha, I like this song. It's catchy. I get made fun of a lot because I have those tiny free-flying braids in my hair, but I'm white. I always thought it was silly that a hair-do went with a a certain skin tone. I like them on MY head. Besided, the muppet looks like she's having so much fun! And she has a great voice, too.

  • Awwww. Love it.

  • I'll never forget when my sister in law took my 4 year old niece to have a perm!!! 4 years old having chemicals on her delicate hair and scalp. I was really upset and had to meddle and what did I hear? " You don't know what is like, you have a "good" hair". Ok, my hair is not afro but is not straight either and very difficult to take care, but my mom had all the patience in the world to care of it.

They should make a video with the mothers saying that they love their kids hair as well.

  • @Marynure Exactly, my auntie permed both my younger cousins hair after my beautician aunt told her not too-- It took out alot of my younger cousin hair-- Ticked all of us off.

  • Thanks for posting the entire song! The other version with 2 million + views on youtube seems shorter.

  • @kimmaytube you are very welcomed! :)

  • love it!!

  • Good message. The song is kind of annoying, though.

  • I Love My Natural Hair. . .

  • love this video, i wish my mother & i could have watched this when i was younger. i absolutely hate putting chemicals in my hair & hope my nieces don't perm theirs. beautiful video & thank you sesame street <3 :)!

  • Not everyone has the time patience and most importantly the money to get a perm all the time or to buy appliances to straighten their hair. These chemicals are also damamging to hair so some girls like to go natural and i think its just as nice as long as they keep it looking nice n neat just like anyone else. This is a nice video for young girls out there to see that all hair is nice no matter what anyone says.

  • This is really cute. Children will definitely take it in. <3

  • Great video, and nice to see the appreciation reaching younger generations so that experiences of my own will be a thing of the past, and we can move towards greater acceptance of all people. One thing i noticed is that there were comments about white or other ethnicity people with similar hair, well, why can't a black child be a role-model for your own white or other ethnic race children? It sorta sounded like this was considered a video only for black children, instead, promote acceptance

  • @flordemielmedia No, for me, it's good for a black child to be a role model. Just so long as everyone understands that kids of all ethnicites and colors can have naturally curly hair too- we don't all perm our hair to make it look like that. When I was younger, people always assumed I did something to my hair to make it look like that. Generally speaking, it would be nice for them to have a clear understanding that very curly hair comes in all ethnicities.

  • I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS!!!! I heard about this on NPR.

  • @jackflack1516 A monkey, ma'am, would've been a step up for you. DNA just proved you guys are Neanderthals. And oh yeah, you just reminded me, when your hair gets wet you smell like german shepard dogs. Please take go peel your skin somewhere else. It smells like rotten bacon.

  • I love this video. I'm not black/african-american but I've always had frizzy

hair. It's cool to see people are trying to make kids feel good about themselves!

So much of our media is used to degrade us. I think this is really cool!

  • Nice video.. Would also be nice to see more of little girls of other ethnicities with curly hair (yes, we do exist, as my daughter is white with VERY curly hair), but I'm not complaining. I guess it's the kind of thing we need here in the U.S. Why do I get the feeling that in other parts of the world that are diverse (ex: England, Australia, and Canada), hair doesn't matter as much? Canada is a good example- even white ppl wear cornrows and no one gives a hoot about other ppl's hair.

  • I love my hair!!!

  • one word: WONDERFUL!!

  • i wish this was shown when i was younger..wish i never got a perm in the 5th grade now im 16..very good message!

  • How many interchangable wigs does this puppet have man!!!!???? lmao love it

  • The white person's nightmare, seeing blacks embrace their natural beauty and overlooking those exaggerated and far-fetched standard of theirs. Well those racist, scum sons of bitches need to just get over it or get like us.

  • @GOLDENBELL1991, Indeed

  • My 5 year-old daughter and I both wear our hair natural. She used to ask if she could get her hair permed or wear it straight like the kids in her class and I would always tell her no because her hair is beautiful just the way it is. I just showed her this video and she was all smiles. I just heard her singing this. Great job!

  • Look, negative comments Will Be REMOVED! If you have nothing positive to say-- Stay off.

  • @ENR2005

Sorry I just cant stand racism please understand me..for I am a Mixed girl who loves her hair :)

One love! thanks for the video...Even though now Im 26 and it's pass my time..Its nice to know that all the future kids will see this message and with their innocence they will embrace it!

  • @MsYerbabuena I totally understand. : )

  • What a great thing sesame street did for all ethnic girls out there. I wish they had this back when I was younger, heaven knows I could have used it. I totally understand how it feels to not love your hair, and I'm glad that sesame street can come out and help little girls enjoy and love what God has given them.

  • This is so cute. xD

  • @MsYerbabuena I second that!!! Jackflack1516 is truly rude and must live a awful boring life with an outlook on life like that

  • @jackflack1516

And white people did destroy the world...Cold Cold race...sometimes Im sooooo ashamed to be part european...what a disgrace to mankind.

  • Awesome video! My 11 year old daughter is mixed and we have had such a hard time getting her to love herself and accept herself and her hair seems to be one issue she is stuck on. thanks for sharing this.

  • @SirsRose oh no :( It's hard to imagine that this image stuff starts so young. I wish you luck, and I'm sure she'll grow into a beautiful person of course!

  • @SirsRose

Awww Im mixed ..and I know exactly what ur daughter went through..Now Im 26 and I just lovvveee My hair..I love being different...Let her know that her hair rocks!! :)

  • @jackflack1515 and @TheChocolateOlive, shut the fuck up. Why do youtube comments turn into a debate between dumb ass people about their thoughts on life?

Just try to appreciate that they're getting little girls with all kinds of hair to appreciate how they look.

  • @aubreytube You're right. Forgive me.

  • @jackflack1516 Furthermore, little girl, europeans never created civilization. They never created a thing. Their rise on the world scene has only been in the last 6 hundred years. Africans RULED Spain for 8 centuries. Everything europe has, the STOLE from Africa. In fact, all europeans are on welfare, and their empire is on it's last leg. So run and tell that you little biotch.

  • @TheChocolateOlive

    100000000% right!

  • @TheChocolateOlive

Why cant share and embraces others cultures..instead of hating what is different... I really didnt know people were still so stuck on this... I see I am truly blessed to have been raised and to be raising my children with the outlook to see the best in all people...I just dont understand why this even bothered you jackflack1516...Really I think we all want to know why did this bother you? Why is this video that helps lil girls be proud of them selfs so hurtful to you.

  • @TheChocolateOlive

I bet jackflack is a woman hater too!

  • @amandafleming2412 Ya for sure.

  • @jackflack1516 So-called caucasians have translucent skin, through which you can see their blood, therefore they are light red aka pink. Your skin peels when you've been in the sun for 15 mins or more. Albinos also have different colored 'hairs & eyes' and like albinos, the eyes of pink people are susceptible to macular degeneration. You are albinos (mutants) who kept the albino genes by inbreeding, and mated with neanderthals. Therefor, you are inbred mutants who practiced bestiality. Good day.

  • Backstory- writer on the show has on adopted daughter from Africa. He wanted her to like her hair, but didn't realize that a lot of black girls and women have the same issue; not just girls adopted across racial lines

  • Wow...lol

  • glad somebody's doing it...

  • :) right on sesame street

  • I needed this growing up lmao

  • @sweets6738 AAAAhahaha, Lord knows. WHere was the love.. lol

  • amazing! this put a smile on my face

  • It's important that we love ourselves in any form that we represent. We are diverse people, who come in many colors, shapes, and hair textures. As long as you love who you are, the form by which you wear your hair shouldn't matter. Just as the puppet pointed out. Her hair was in natural curls, extension braids, and long pigtails...all which represent her...a beautiful little Black girl!

  • Wonderful! Self Love!

  • Love...Love...Love It!!

  • Very positive I love it!!!

  • this is awesome! i didnt think sesame street would do this lol :D

  • Now, if only we could get grown ass black women to accept this message of self love

  • @Dante3X lol, so true!

  • @Dante3X lmfaoooo so true. lol

  • @Dante3X You're right! I stopped using chemicals nearly 5 years ago and although the transition was hard, I LOVE my natural curls and often wear it wild and free!

  • @Dante3X AAAAAAAhahahahahaha! and let the church say............

  • @Dante3X it all starts with the Babies :) this is awesome.

  • @Dante3X lol so true but to their defense it's always "its my hair" or "if white women do such and such how come blacks can't do that" so let them do whatever they want with it even if it is detrimental. I'm proud to wear my natural, short curly hair =)

  • @Dante3X, Actually there has been alot of African/African American women going natual and I love it!

  • That should say teary eyed

  • Wow this made me testy eyed what a positive message for little girls to hear at such a young age!

  • Awesome video!!!!! A great message for all little black girls =0) I knew there was a reason I loved sesame street when I was a kid!

  • loooove it! go sesame street
