@theeaterofpie yeah lol blah blah theres a difference blah blah blah lol i think it takes more talent to play synths then to touch a couple of buttons on a computer
@MrKingvanilla83 but thats like comparing someones skill of painting against someone elses skill in dancing. production and performance are entirely different aspects of music. people had the same opinion as yours about pianos at one point, as people deemed them to be 'cheating'. people should embrase technology, not hate on it. rant over lol.
@theeaterofpie imo opinion you have more talent if you play an actually instrument then if you play some cool sounding beats on a computer and have someone else sing your lyrics
@MrKingvanilla83 then i take it you know very little about music production :L i'm not saying either takes more talent, as they are completely different. Your idea of electronic music seems to be the use of presets and drawing in midi notes o.0
@theeaterofpie im not talking about production. sheesh. ive seen people seriously just push about 3 buttons and it makes a bunch of noises and they think their something. And i know plenty about music
Oh I was brought back to this gem; I LOVE THIS sooooooo much. POWERFUL vibrations. A most beautiful happy vibration flowing through to my very core. WOW!! I needed this. :-))) THANKS for the click of my finger.

HOW DO YOU GET ON RPO RECORDS???? @XxMaLcLmPwNsxX well...Rpoland IS a record company that focuses on compositions and classical/acoustic music....it also depends in what you mean in your music...i don't see much techno in CANDyRAT..just sayin P:
Why is anyone critiquing this fantastic, talented, and already established artist? What have you got to show for? Matthew Santos and his band are GREAT
@KBerns11 you would be suprised whats waiting out there in the world my friend... disabled, sick, unrespected musicains, even people in jail and addicted to the hardest drugs out there ARE the best in the world, period, these ppl should be extremely grateful they have made it in the industry when myself, disabled(unable to walk do to ligements in my knee) i used to play drums very well and i now focous on NEW experimental ideas with what i have left of my body, i play a computer keyboard LIVE
@XxMaLcLmPwNsxX thats really great that you strove to find new ways of musical expression after loosing the ability to walk and that is something to be proud of. I just dont understand how this relates to my comment. I was responding to all the comments about how the organ sucks and w/e. really nice song =) best videos which shows how all band plays on studio=) if I were you I'd change mic position for guitar more close to the end of fretboard , around 12th fret.

@Znatnhos I'd agree. I don't think organ is bad instrumentation, but you're right, it's a little deep for the setting. Give it some edge and brightness and i'd be throwin' the money blob urrwhere.
@drbulbus I'm listening with headphones... so no, audio clarity is not my problem. And frankly, I didn't mean to indicate I don't love this (I do)... this is the bee's cock. I think this would sound sexy as fuck with that little (huge) hammond B3 they've got chillin' in the background.
Liked this alot, but I'm a bit torn on the mixing. Not really sure if I liked the balance of the guitar and the keys. And speaking of keys, why not use an actual ORGAN, when it's right there, in the video even? :p
I can't really understand the comments about unindividuality or missing innovation. Voicewise, lyricswise and allover songwritingwise Matthew Santos seems to me incredible creative. There is a feeling with the music that I rarely can find these days anywhere.
@mayakikun I agree. I don't know what innovation anyone could be looking for, at least in the music. With 12 notes and only so many keys, you can bet that it's already been done. For the song as a whole, the most "innovative" thing I could think of is a song that startles the masses, and the songs that do that are the kind that people stop listening to very quickly.
Sounds like Jay Spooner Trio. Good music, but would like to see more innovation. The sound is way better than anything I could make, no question, I'm not trolling, the voice and music is overall great, but with those gifts, INNOVATE =) best of luck (breakdown at 1:58 was my favorite part) and I agree with what @WillieWallace92 said, and I think its cause girls will also listen to music like that and dance to it. They show up at a venue, males show up.
I'm sorry, but why does everyone have to sing in that same style nowadays? I just can't seem to escape it. It's not necessarily bad, it's just EVERYWHERE!
That was excellent. Not sure if it's my system or the mixing on the track, but the levels sounded a little funky in places. Testament to the track, though, that it's still so engrossing despite this.
The song is pretty good, the main lead is impressive but the vocals need some fine tuning (mainly to start after and finish before the lead does - to effectively blend in, not "stick out" so to speak). All in all, great job!
Hey Matthew, i remember hearing you in Bill's class/spiritual circle at Columbia few yrs back! Great to see things are working well for you! All the best1
Inspiring! CandyRat does it again, giving another fantastic group of musicians a place to be heard and appreciated, so that musicians such as myself can once again be INSPIRED!
Sounds like he borrowed his voice a bit from Dave Matthews, who coincidentally made a song called "Grave Digger", in which he asks the grave digger to make his grave shallow. :P
Candyrat has some of the best musicians I have heard this past year.....Don Ross, Miller, this guy etc! I hope it is a label that continues to produce music of real musicians! Great stuff!
I think the percussion is a bit to overpowering, It's taking away a little bit from the vocal and keyboards melody. HOWEVER! I am sick, so it may just be that my ears are too sensitive. I might post my thoughts after I feel better if they change. Regardless thats just my perspective. All and all, wonderful song. Im also a musician, but don't have any of my work up yet. Im still in the experimental and production. TO WHOM EVER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR THE COMPOSITION!!! Get a youtube channel.
Great style, but his first single should be something with a strong hook and unfortunately, this doesn't have hook enough to get the attention he had with fiasco.
I suspect that it's physically impossible to listen to organ playing like that and NOT develop bobble head like characteristics
