  • The guy has "IT" in spades!!!

  • WOW the best american idol ever

  • Does Paula call that dancing?

  • ...such a good voice *-*

  • wow, very nice cover!

  • Love the song. Never heard of this singer.

    But think I like it....

  • Would Clay Aiken would have won if America had suspected he was gay? Oh wait......

  • correction, thier is atually now 149 likes and 1 dislike ......whoever the dislike is clearly is deaf

  • damn hot and sexy! perfect voice for the perfect person. love clay!

  • This is the song that made me decide I loved Clay Aiken!!!

  • Clay could read me the newspaper and I would think it was perfect

  • how was that motown the musical? I mean that was AWESOME!

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :):)

  • Clay you are still the one and only Idol!

  • He is still sexy now, but I wish I could hear his strong voice like he did on AI.

  • 106 likes and 0 dislikes since 2007, nuff said!!!

  • wow hes so good

i use to think he wasnt that great when i was kid

so much confidence and big voice

  • This kind of proves that the quality of AI contestants has gone downhill. We've gone from Ruben & Clay to Lee & Crystal.

  • Muito massa veyh!!! hehehe...

  • this is the best performance on motown week!!!!

  • You are such a pleasure to watch and listen to !! Spetacular voice and incredible personality. What a combination !!

  • Yes, Yes, Yes!!! I remeber this done originally by The Four Tops and then in 1971 Donnie Elbert redid it and put some kick to it. It was uptempled so much so that it went from a fast waltz buy The Four Tops to a hip hip and take it away, good enough for me to go out there and pick up on it for a buck. Clay's version here seems to be somewhere inbetween the Tops and Donnie. Thanks4 posting, and it's nice to know their playing Clay Aikens on 93.7 CJJR Country here in Vancouver.

  • i got goosebump..where r u clay??

  • he sounds good enough but really, sugarpie honeybunch? the song is stupid. and to imagine his "sugarpie honeybunch" is a man.

  • @xxkmlsmpxx dont be such a homo-phobe, its the 21st century... even Eminem got over his fear of gay people. you can too

  • @ruffrhyder21213 you have no idea what you are talking about. im not a homophobe. just because i called a song gay does not make me one either. i'd like it if you dont go around calling me a homophobe when you dont even know me, thank you very much.

  • @xxkmlsmpxx

jeez, your so sensitive, and yea i do know what im talking about because you said, (and I quote): "to imagine his 'sugarpie honeybunch' is a man." thats a pretty homophobic comment. its not even about whether or not the song is considered "gay" but your basically making a mockery of his talent and making homophobic remarks because he is gay... and yea, your right, I dont know you. I dont need to know you because by the way you talk, you make yourself look ignorant.

  • @ruffrhyder21213 First of all, I never said Clay isn't talented. He truly is. I just don't like this song and I just think it's weird Clay chose it when back then when he tried so hard to hide his sexuality, because to me, yes the song sounds kind of gay. That is my opinion, ok? I'm allowed to have my own opinions. I suppose they came across the wrong way. I will say it one more time: I'M NOT A HOMOPHOBE. You are the ignorant one because you are making judgments on a person you have never met.

  • @ruffrhyder21213 Continuing... It is completely unfair to judge a person based on a few remarks. My first impression of you was that you were a complete asshole but I know that's probably not true. You just can't seem to except the fact that I am not a homophobe. I'm not trying to offend you or anything but really. If I was a homophobe I would say it, ok? I believe in expressing one's opinions and if i truly believed in homophobia i would say so.

  • @xxkmlsmpxx

woahhh hold up, don't even play the victim. you basically judged Clay Aiken, mocked his way of life, and now you want sympathy? dont be a hypocrite. and to clear it up with you, yea i actually am an asshole. but im only an asshole to stupid people. i really dont have a problem with you personally, but i do have a problem with idiots. for all i know you could be the sweetest person on earth but,

that remark you made threw you in my shit bucket.

  • @ruffrhyder21213 Look. All Im trying to do is convince u that Im not a homophobe. I wasnt trying to make homophobic comments. I dont care that Clay s gay. Thats just who he is. And if you think Im a idiot, how exactly do you not have a problem with me? If it helps, my fav teacher at school is gay, my fav TV show is Glee, which is obviously pro-gay rights, and I dont know if you watch Glee, but my fav fan fantasy couple is Rachel and Quinn. & Adam Lambert is one of fav singers. Sound homophobic?

  • @xxkmlsmpxx I said i don't have anything against you personally... meaning i dont hate you, you are not the person i despise the most in the world, im not gonna kill u haha. im just putting u in ur place, so the next time you decide to say something idiotic like that again you will remember this and hold your tongue.

secondly, u dont have to prove to me if your homophobic or not i've already made my decision. but it seems like you really care a lot about what some random asshole thinks about u

  • @ruffrhyder21213 Yes. I do care what people think about me. Is that a problem? And why is it your job to put me in my place? And may I ask, have you "decided" I'm a homophobe?

  • @xxkmlsmpxx

you know what, this isn't worth all the negativity, I apologize for being a jerk. i hope i did not upset you, best of wishes. your a good person.

  • @ruffrhyder21213 Um, thank you. The same to you.

  • @xxkmlsmpxx

    oh and another thing...

you said: "just because i called a song gay does not make me one either."

i never called you gay or questioned your sexuality... you've said enough.,

  • @ruffrhyder21213 Ok, really? I meant that calling a song gay does not make me a homophobe. Where did you get from that i thought you called me gay? You are the one that really needs to shut up.

  • @xxkmlsmpxx hmmm a little touchy about your sexuality i see... honestly, if u did not make stupid homophobic remarks, people here wouldn't take the time and gratitude to bust your ass for being an ignoramus.

  • @ruffrhyder21213 Well I'm sorry for getting frustrated that you seem to be completely missing the point. And I'm sorry if my comments offended you, but they weren't meant to be homophobic and they are my opinion. Also- you are the only one who gives a shit about my comments anymore so don't make it sound like the whole goddamn world is against me.

  • @xxkmlsmpxx

you said, "think about it, his sugar pie honeybunch is a man," that cant be anymore homophobic. if a heterosexual woman was singing that song, im pretty sure you would not have made that same comment, but since Clay is a gay man you show your true colors. you say that comment was your opinion rite? so you have negative opinions about homosexuality. is that not homophobia?

of course the whole world is not against you... you got the rest of the idiot population to back you up.

  • Hi Sel from Sweden :D I enjoy this version very much. If you look a little more, he is more than just the voice. All round entertainer with heart of gold. I have been extremely fortunate to attend my first concert 2 wks ago and he blew us all away when he sang this song better than he did here in AI2 7 years ago!

  • seen some videos of him now, very very good voice i most say..and this performance is great! always liked this song and starting to like this more then original! greetings from sweden.

  • He has the best voice I have ever heard. And I mean ever.

  • Not bad but honestly, nobody can sing this the way Levi Stubbs did. It just doesnt sound right any other way

  • damn you american idol.. he was on scrubs ! he deserves to win !

  • @imnotshorty0321 He was on "Scrubs"? Which ep.? :O

  • @KittyKatty92 season 4 "my life in 4 cameras"

  • OMG!!! seriously he didnt win?? wat a waste of talent...

  • he might be a little gay but he is so hot

  • Amazing performance... Clay is heavenly. The best thing to happen to American Idol EVER!

  • anytime ai needs a ratings boost ask for clay! HINT HINT have clay as one of the guest judges hes said he would like to be one ! i would start to watch again to see that am i right ?!! or am i right ?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • what does that have anything to do with it

  • Beautiully done!!

  • awsomely voice

  • Thank you for posting this...I remember this performance like it was last night... What a pure voice he has and he was flawless in concert. One of the best to come out of AI.

  • I LOVE his version of this!

  • he is so cute, everytime i here his voice it makes me fall more in love with!He should of won american idol....Ruben studdard didn't deserve it as much as him

  • he's REALLY good!!

  • He is pretty gay but he's good

  • i disagree

clay makes this song more masculine = better for this song

  • this is exactly the major difference between david a and Clay aiken, David is only a ballad singer where as clay is able to sing songs like this and make it work

  • AMAZING!! BEST IDOL EVER!!!

  • I was hooked from the first note.

  • what's the reference to duct tape?

  • it's from the pre-performance clip. While Clay was at the YMCA, he let the kids plaster him to the wall with duct tape for fun. Such a major cool dude!

  • i cant say how much i love him!!!! LOVE YOU CLAY!!!

  • I love Clay Aiken so much!

  • Clay can sing anything in any genre and make it work. He will be around for a long time to come.

  • awesome

he got an upgrade and now he's hot clay

    great voice

  • One of my most favorites -- love seeing it again. Has he ever come a long way -- from Am.Idol to Sedaka Tribute to two tours again this year -- UNICEF travel in Dec. 07 and then Spamalot next year. Wow! A truly talented caring man!

  • This was the night I first turned on American Idol and found Clay. I loved him just from watching his background video that they showed before he sang. Then I heard that Voice and said "That kid's got PIPES!" After that I was toast, solidly Clay's fan for life. Finding out that he wanted to help special needs kids and was appointed a UNICEF Ambassador, I was even more impressed. Besides which, he is funny as all getout onstage! Anybody who's not seen Clay in live concert, you need to!

  • This boy got some soul.

    Watch him climb the ladder.
