Gotta say, I love this show, but this episode (I think it was this one) said something that could be really polarizing, if it were true, but its not. Xbox 360 software, like XBLA games, DLC and such, are 'connected' two ways, by the account, and the system it was first downloaded to. If the game was moved to a different 360, then you have to be online to play. You can migrate to a new system by going to the xbox website

Then you can play offline again.

@rd1979 The sad thing is, there are PSN games that require you to be online to play at all, no matter what. Final Fight Double Impact on PSN is famous for this.

I loved the episode--After Burner is such a bizarre classic, and I find myself waffling between both perspectives you present, between incomprehensible love for and existential confusion at the pointlessness of it all. As for that poster, it looks like Joe DOES have some gaming swag after all! What else is he hiding from us viewers?

@MrGamesack I recently found my sega genesis and I found out it still works. The only problem is that I only have 2 games. After burner and Shadow dancer. My question is, where can I get genesis games and where can I get cases for my game cartridges.

Looking for a copy on the Saturn I came across Afterburner released on the NES/Famicom by Tengen, and Afterburner II released on the Famicom by Sunsoft. The Sunsoft version doesn't seem to be half-bad considering the hardware limitations.

This was a great episode. After Burner made me a gamer, and I had played all of the Top Atari 2600, NES and Arcade games available to me at the time. After Burner was something else entirely that no other game could offer, and so horribly few games offer today.

GREAT episode! You guys did an amazing job! I would love to get a Saturn and play Afterburner with the mission stick! I never knew that Afterburner on the Master System was the first console game in the U.S. to have 4 Mega power. I remember the arcade cabinet where you sat down and the seat moved-that was insane!

@austinmackert :( Why can't I have an opinion? It's alright for people not to like a series of games. It happens all the time and everybody who plays games has a series or game they don't like. After Burner, for me, is one I just can't get into. I've tried it but it's not for me.

@crapperstick Definitely a fan of Phantasy Star but that's one of those games (series, actually) that would take a long time to play through to grab footage..
