  • dude u are amazing thx

  • Question: How can I improve the quaility of the video? Should I buy HDMI cable for my Xbox and buy another HDMI cable for my DVD recorder? If that is the solution, then how would I set it up? Thanks!

  • @Abriggs500 DVD players are standard def.

  • Urgent question! How can I record my voice? Help!

  • @Abriggs500 Sound recorder in accessories. Then add it to you video through the program you are editing it with. You may want to edit the video first and watch it as you record your voice. Then add them together in your final render. You would need to have a mic to connect to your computer. There is a guy who's youtube page is youtube.com/TheMightyPnut. He does commentaries all the time. check it out. He maybe able to answer your question better.

  • I have a problem. I insert a DVD+R and my dvd recorder ( a Sony RDR-HX710 ), after recording, says "Info Write", but if I insert the dvd+r, after recording it all, in the computer, the computer says "drag files into the blá blá blá", So the dvd says that it records, but there are no files! HELP!!

  • how do i get my own voice in the video

  • @drewbug08 Most people just do the voiceover after, just record your voice and put it in.

  • @drewbug08 Edit the footage on the computer, or use a Karaoke Machine

  • if i insert the xbox cables in the Dvd recorder how am i soppose to see? in the TV?

  • @ItsAnonymousGuy hdmi cable

  • I got everything to work as you said except for the importing of video data for editing. For some reason, my iMovie program won't accept the recording. Maybe I need to use a different program?

  • @bobynoxr i used nero 7 to transfer the video data.

  • @drawderocks Does that work for a Mac?

  • @bobynoxr you have to find a program that rips VOB files off the dvd. i don't have a mac so i don't know if it has a program that will do that. if you search the interent you may find a program that can.

  • could you also use i vcr to do it

  • My quality gets horrible. And If I click A or move right it actually takes time before it moves. How to fix this? any help is appreciated! Allso I have a pc monitor. Btw. For the people who own a television, wouldn't it be easier to connect the dvd and xbox to the tv instead of running it through the xbox?

  • What should i do if i plug it in, but there's no picture. P.S there is sound and I am using the new xbox.

  • My dvd PLAYER has 2 inputs so can i record gameplay with it??

  • @ironhide68 If it has inputs then it should be able to record. make sure there inputs not outputs.

  • @drawderocks OK great thanks!

  • cool story bro

  • how did you recorcd with no lag

  • if you plug your xbox video/sound/whatever cables to your dvd recorder how do u actually see whats on your tv if they are not in your tv

  • @sgtmoody87 you hook the dvd recorder up to the tv.

  • how can you record without a dvd recorder or a capture card or dazzle

  • @Supernino950 it is a dvd recorder.

  • ok

  • can you make a tutorial on how to do this on ps3

  • is this the same way on ps3. if not can you make a tutorial on how to

  • @zbshooter it's the same way a far as i know. I do not own a ps3, but others have said it works.

  • i get audio but no video??!! :(

    please help :(

  • Thanks. For this, I'll be sure to credit you for how I recorded my TM3 playthrough.

  • PLEASE HELP!!!!! my recorder is fine and everything but say im Playing MW2 and i press R1 to shoot it delays and takes a second or 2 to shoot what do i do?

  • @TOPSHADOWGUNS2

yah mine does that to especially when i look left and right

  • @Aquaman519 yea it sucks :/ because it makes it almost impossible to play

  • thx for help :) but can i stop record and then continue?

  • LOl u got the same dvd recorder as me!!!

  • ok well i got it working finally... thanks for the help! now all i need is video editing software and a lesson on how to add all kinds of effects.... might wait till next year in college so i can get people to help me with that who are taking classes in that field....

  • @TitanZ41 I glad you got it working. i didn't go to college to learn how to edit, but i do suspected that they would be using a program like sony vegas or something to edit their movies, videos etc. so i wouldn't waste my time on windows movie maker or even nerovision. plus it's best that you have a full verson of any editing program because you may run into problems with importing your video off the dvd or other devices you may capture from.

  • @drawderocks how do i add vocie to my vid for halo reach and can i edit this on windows movie maker. and also great guide! ill be sure try this tommorrow with my panasonic recorder

  • @Hawkshot100 i can't really tell you if you can edit anything untill you try it. i would suggest that if you wish to record voice that you use sound recorder in the accessoires on windows. you can always add a wave file to the audio part of your project. First try and see if you can figure it out on your own then if you can't seem to get it to work you can tell me what you have tried. that way i can see if i can figure out a way of making it work. send any message back as a personal message.

  • i just got a Toshiba dvr for xmas and i have already recorded a few things on 3 different cds. i am using DVD+R but i have aran into a problem. I can only watch the dvd through the dvr, when i put the dvd into my computer xbox, or ps3 it shows nothing on the disc... what am i doing wrong?

  • @TitanZ41 you need to make sure that the dvd+r records at the same speed the dvr burns at. if the dvr burns at 2x8 and the dvd+r need to be 2x8 not 2x16. the dvr can only record on disc of the same speed. i also haven't done this in awhile so i don't know what brands work with what brands. you may want to check if your dvd player on your computer can play the disc that you use. you should be able to find what brands are compatable with your computer dvd player online.

  • @drawderocks ok 1 more question- how do i change the speed it records at? thanks!

  • @drawderocks ok 1 more question- how do i change the speed that it records at? thanks!

  • @TitanZ41 that's the problem. you can't change the speed.

  • When you record something from your 360 onto a DVd can u hear teh sound whilst it's recordign (ie can youplay a game and record it and hear what is going on, like playing a song on guitar hero hear it as you play it and have the soun on the DVD)

  • Totally fanfreakintastic - because I have the exact same DVD recorder. I had been thinking there was an easier way than trying to do it through computer and you did it.

    Thanks.

  • hey when i do this a black bar appears along the bottom and it doesnt go away. any help?

  • Does the output of the DVD recorder have to be the same as the input?

  • @iTimeLineJrM you can record from the camera to the dvd recorder but i don't think you can do it the other way around. but i'm not sure because i haven't researched if you can.

  • should i put my xbox into widescreen even thouhgh i play on a standard?

    you know, for youtube purposes

  • @pablopenguin24 you don't have to if you have sony or another program that can pan/crop.

  • still hard to understand

  • how do i see the gameplay while its recording

  • what if you use a cable box instead of a DVD recorder? i have AT&T uverse

  • Extremely helpful, i recorded call of duty 2 and didnt spend a dime!

  • does it also rec the sound of the game

  • i also record like this

  • With my TV it doesn't have Input 1, Input 2, etc. What if I plugged in the red, yellow, white AVI cables into the back of my TV and put the red green and blue AVI cables into the DVD Recorder, will it work?

  • What always gets me is how my DVD-R has about 5 HD outputs but only an SD input. :(

  • why if you have a MW2 Xbox but an old dashboard just wondering

  • @xXSPAc3kiDXx I made the faceplate. it's halo images.

  • @drawderocks oh OK never mind but i thinks its time for an update

  • @xXSPAc3kiDXx I have an xbox elite now. the one you see i the video still work. the funny thing was that for the first 6 months i had it it could only play halo2 and the halo3 beta. when i bought halo 3 it didn't work for four months i thought well i need to send it in to get it fixed. about a week before i made this video i started working right and it hasn't had a problem since. my nephew uses it everyday to play halo 3 online.

  • what halo game was that?

  • i got the dumbest problem ever, when i try to put my AV cables in the AV input my HDMI cable blocks the way, please help me.

  • @qq455 cut the big plastic off the av

  • i have a problem i have got a toshiba dvd player and recorder and it has a harddrive i set everything up then it says cant record this program could anyone help me please if you can thanks :D

  • i really like this method because I have a dvd recorder that has component in so I can record in 720p and 1080p and its saved 20$ for buy Haupagge HD PVR 1212

  • can someone help me? i got everything an xbox 360, hd tv and dvd recorder but i dont know how to connect it so it would record my gameplay. i connected the 360 rca or sumthing the cable with red, white and yellow into the recorder and the component cable in the tv. I get a picture but no sound. usually when i watch dvds i get it on hdmi and the gameplay picture is not on hdmi its on componen

  • wow the delay is rlly bad when i do this

  • Great video. I tried it and it worked. Once problem though. The image is appears squished. Could this be because I recorded this off of an HDTV?

Thanks in advance for any info you or anyone here can give me.

  • ca u play in HD while u record in SD ?

do u have Delay when u play ?

    ty :)

  • @NAKEDSONmgo there is always a delay. if you can split the signal that would be the only way not to have a delay.

  • i love you you helped me so much :D it already has been watched 105 times XD loook at the video responce XD

  • @hermanuslinssen make sure that your using the right dvd and you may have to finalize the disc

  • i think im having a problem similar to hopo182. i record my gameplay and it works in the dvd player but not in the dvd drive in my computer. i know when i go to record the dvd it ask me about XP, SP, LP or EP but thats the quality and corresponds to how much i can burn to a single disc. if you know what I might not be doing or what im doing wrong please help me

  • okei I bought a DVD+R disk and when I put it in the dvd reorder then it says error

  • hi , need HELP, it wont let me explore the disc, + it doesnt pick up my recorded data , it just says stuff like its blank,,

    please help

  • @hopo182 do you know at what speed that your recorder burns at. my recoder burns at 1x-8x but once i bought dvds that burned at 1x-16x i could not burn any footage onto those discs. if you still have the manual it should tell you what kind of dvds to buy. i'm pretty sure that's what's happening.

  • well , i use DVD-R discs ,

but i want to use cd-r discs,

    anyway,

i record my gameplay, it plays back perfectly on the dvd player,

so i no its on the disc,

wen i put it in the dvd slot on the pc, it doesnt pick it up , any ideas??

    thanks

  • when i try this it says 'you can not record this selected program' wtf any help?

  • @CoDGamerHQ you should be able to record gameplay. If you are trying to record a video or something there maybe a copyright protection on it. you will not be able to record them using this method.

  • I found out it is because I have an HD TV and my DVD recorder doesn't have HD cable plug-ins.

Any way to use the DVD recorder without HD cables?

  • @homeyG75 use a different tv?

  • @drawderocks yeah, i'll do that, but my house has only three tvs: a tiny piece of crap, my parents' tv, and the living room tv (HD)

  • Neither the back nor the front works. Please help me?

  • do these hd dvd recorders work on an older non hd television. My tele's a bit old, but it has plugs to run a playstation 2 or xbox through it, as well as a standard connector for freeview (uk).

  • @Balgorg I have no idea.

  • I tried this like a couple years ago and it worked with the Wii, but now I sold my Wii and I'm trying to record my 360, but it doesn't show the video but I can hear the sound. My DVD is obviously correctly connected to the TV because it shows the blue screen and that stuff. Must be something wrong with the input.

I only tried the front though.

    Let me try the back.

  • perfect video turns out i have the same dvd player

  • hey, i have a question, how much do dvd records cost, and do you need to hook it up to your tv, because i dont use a tv i use a moniter... and where do you get " recordable dvd made for your recorder", if you can answear id appriciate =)

  • is it possible to have a dvd recorder with a usb connection on it? i want to record my modern warfare 2 gameplay onto a flashdrive.. plz reply! =D

  • @visage92 do you have a dvd recorder with a usb connection on it. I don't think you can because every usb connection i seen only allows for photos. Now if it has a firewire or a composite connection you maybe able to record it to your computer with a capture program like nero or sony vegas.

  • Wow, Nice video. It seems it's easy to setup.

I'm planning to buy a LCD TV with Built in DVD.

Will it work to record games from the a DVD that's built in in a TV??

  • @speedruntrainer I don't think it is because it needs a dvd recorder an i believe they only have built in dvd players.

  • My Sony recorder which is a rdr-hx780 is working well, just that I can't seem to record my PS3 becuase when I am on input is all blank. Only way I can see my PS3 is when I go to TV mode?

  • @EmotionalKing

hey im exactly the same! my recorder is a SONY RDR-HXD790, im trying to record HDMI PS3 but all the channels go to the TV channels through my DVD recorder. i've had to unplug the HDMI from the DVD recorder back into the TV just to play. can anybody help? ASAp

  • @IoIage

It is pretty simple to fix this problem! All you need is the standard quality work to record your PS3.(Red,white,yellow plugs that comes with the PS3 or PS2) This will help if you understand?

  • i do understand (i know what you mean), but here's what i did:

TV > PS3 - Red White Yellow cable

    PS3 > DVD Rec - HDMI

  • you have to set up you PS3 into the DVD player in the right input/output.

  • Wow Thanks....

I;m so stupid i didn't try this XP

    I'm Serious

  • is there such thing as a dvd recordeer & player in one because my dvd player* has a record button it might be a dvd recorder but im not sure.

  • yes because a dvd recorder has a hard drive so it plays and records dvd's while a dvd player only plays dvd's and doesn't have a hard drive

  • dvd players with harddrive are called dvr. they are hard to find because the movie companys don't want consumers to own them. i believe though i maybe wrong that they aren't made anymore you can still get a dvr but you have to get it through a cable or satellite company and they don't have dvd burners on them.

  • when i hook up my dvd recorder to my xbox 360 the color is messed up anyone know whats wrong?i've tried everything but nothing happens

  • you may want to change the pal setting on your xbox to match your tv or visa versa. some games like halo only work on pal60. though i'm not sure what the standards are in Ireland. you sould make sure that all of you cables a secured tightly because that maybe causing your problem. you would be surprised how many times that was the problem.

  • it works fine in pal50 but the game i want to record only works on pal60 i'll keep trying to fix it tho

  • iv got a panasonic HD DVD recorder

  • lol my dad's tv has too dvd players :S

but i have a dvd player like urs im gunna use it whenever my dad use it .

soo my computer isnt dvd-r drive its only Cd-rom drive im gunna chnge it later xP

  • so can this be done while in game/gameplay as well??? or just with like LIVE Marketplace downloaded movies???

  • it will most likely work with only game/gameplay. most of the marketplace movies can't be recorded. they have copyright protection to stop them from being recorded this way. the halo part was more like an ad so it was recordable.

  • can u do this on ps3?

  • yes

  • DVD Recorder Sucks And I Retter User Dazzle Better

  • can u use windows movie maker to edit

  • yep

  • yes but you will need to convert the movie maker file to a file suited to youtube before you upload it.

  • how comes when i record i comes up in black and white? and also would movie maker be able to take the file or do i need something else?

  • If this works I'll rate 5 stars subscribe and favourite! So far it seems do-able.

  • Thank you so much!!!! This is really going to help me because I had no idea how to do this, and this helps in the best way because my mom won't let me use her camera and my brother's camera's a piece of shit!!! Thank you soooo much!! Instant fave!

  • I plugged my 360 into my dvd recorder thing, line 2 each time i go onto line 2 i see my 360 for like 2 seconds then it just goes white. wth??? :(

  • ya but how do u split the signal i dont no how!!

  • i've heard that radio shack has them.

  • how come when i record using my dvd player it lags my games?

  • you will have lag unless you use a splitter.

  • so i use the spliter for the avi from the gaming system to the DVD player or from the DVD player to the TV?

  • split the signal from the system to the tv and dvd recorder. that way you don't get lag.

  • thank you for the great help

  • hey man, please help! i have a xbox360, LCD TV and i just bought the recorder. i can't seem to make it work, what do i need to do now? buy some more cables? what kind? what are theses splitters everyone's talking about?

  • its almost same as recording a TV show..

  • what's the difference between dvd+R and dvd-R?

  • i dont get it because u put the AV cables into the dvd recorder and then you turn on ur ps3 and nothing is on ur tv. PLZ HELP MEE

  • you need AV cables from the DVD recorder to TV... unless you have wireless DVD recorder

  • I do the exact same process as this tutorial has shown, only I recorded about 21 minutes worth of footage, and only about 2 minutes of it show up! Please help!

  • Do you think it would work to record on a hdd dvd recorder? to the hdd?

  • yes ofcourse. ive got one of those aswell, id say it would i mean why wouldnt it, it records tv to your hdd right? if youve got enough space i suppose, if not use a dvd-r

  • i do all that and it works but when i turn the xbox on it goes all green. any suggestions?

  • cant ya just tape it on a dvd? it would be alot easier

  • oh thanks

  • i have this dvd recorder and a ps3. im wondering, how do i plug it into my ps3 and tv at once and do i have to record it on a cd for my dvd recorder?

  • Cheers for the info. I thought that's what was causing the delay, just wasn't sure. Are 'splitters' expensive? The delay between the DVD sending the picture to the TV is a little too long and im struggling to adjust.

    Cheers again. :)

  • I can record gameplay but get input lag of 0.5 secs. Have I done this right or is this normal?

    Cheers.

  • yes it's normal, but halo has saved film so you don't have to deal with the lag. they need to make more games with that feature

  • It's normal, happens to me too.

  • my ps3 doesn't have av cables. what should i do?

  • buy some av caqbles

  • There are no avi ports in the back of the ps3. Just two big cables; one hdmi and one for power.

  • check your manual, the cable for the av and the cable for the hdmi connect in the same place.

  • Man, I'll look for it, but that manual is probably long gone. And there are no a/v ports anywhere on the ps3. Only power and hdmi.

  • Okay, I have the ps3 hooked up to the dvd player, then the dvd player/recorder hooked up to the tv. When I go to the dvd source, all I get is static and a screwed up picture. Help?

  • i got that too but before u record, choose how the qualities gonna be like SLP or HQ.. it should be on your dvd recorder's menu

  • does this work for xbox original lol im bored

  • When i connect my AV cable to the Dvd recorder and start my xbox i can hear sound but can't see the video. Please help!

  • you may want to make sure that the cables are connected securely to the recorder. it maybe that simple.

  • this still doesnt work. When I try to plug in the camera to the video out it show on my camera: TV Out or Headphones. When I choose TV Out it always goes black but films what is around me not the tv

  • i don't understand what you mean are you trying to record to your camera.
