hey LineDetail , i was wondering if you could help me with customizing my hi top neon pink converse! i cant think of any drawings to put on them and its bugging me how bright they are.... lol i like em but i cant wear em with anything at all! :O please help me
@jaimecaramellos Heya Jaime, Trying to hide the pink with a drawing is pretty hard because the color pops so much, it'd even pop if it were as small as the converse star logo and the rest of the shoe was black. I did a google search and it seems like people wear a lot of dark clothing so the shoes really pop, or another option i see is a non-pink color pant with a pinkish color top. Perhaps you could follow that or find a color that matches the same brightness for your top. I hope that helps :)
@LineDetail haha thanks :D i apreciate your reply back not alot of users do haha. um i was thinking maybe adding a leopard print on it and i dont know a random silhoute of a puppy like the victoria secret pink logo. ?
@jaimecaramellos np. leopard print might be interesting. Good luck with whatever route you choose. Definitely draw on paper first before drawing it onto your kicks.
@TNTX500 Doh! that sucks TNTX500. Did you put on anything to coat them to help prevent the bleed? What material were your pumas? Do you have a before and after shot? Did you use Sharpies? -Line
@LineDetail no i was 10 and i used this random marker there r no sharpies where i live so u now those permanent markers that white-board marker companies manufacture ya and my pumas were like the puma driving shoes material but not Swede u noe the usual anyway i dumped em got ruined at camp when i stepped in cow crap
Very dope I stay up late as hell to finish any work of mine I get it done more at nights then days lol weird...but anyways have you happened to find any good protective coating for this I've drawn a bunch of shoes for other ppl and it seems to fade after a few months but I want it to last longer!
@chopy05 Chopy, yeah I totally understand about nights. No one is awake to bother you, nothing is open or going on to take away your concentration.. Sorry , still haven't found a coating yet.I've read up on a few but even still, by adding the coating some are said to still bleed. Good luck though and thanks for the comment :) -Line
@Fi5hRock5 Hiya Fi5hRock5 , People have mentioned online to use a water proofing spray. I haven't had a chance to test out a spray yet. I will soon. Check back in about a week, I'll try more than one to see how they perform. -Line
@cara28mel Heya Cara28mel :) Yeah, I feel bad about it. Tell Converse to print my artwork so it'll stay better k? :) Glad i have inspired you to try something new. Please comment back in the future when you do a pair. I'd love to check them out. -Line
@yaoigoo2 Hi Yaoigoo2, The ink does bleed - I found out recently. I did some searching online but haven't found a way to preserve the original artwork created without it having a slight bleed. You're in a catch 22. If you find a solution, please send me a note as well! Thanks for checking out my channel! -Line
I haven't tried it or anything but i bet if after you are done with the art, just spray it with some water proofing spray? you should be able to find it in the hiking/camping section of wal-mart or anywhere else.
@Techstr Heya Techstr, thanks for subscribing and your comment. I will definitely attempt a couple of these water proofing sprays and see how they effect the ink. -Line
@LineDetail You betcha - I've seen him 3 times: twice at Banjo Jim's in the East Village and we had him on our bluegrass-oriented show, The Steam Powered Hour, which is now in Brooklyn. Amazing, one-of-a-kind performer.
@XxXThEOnLy1IamXx Hola XxXThEOnLy1IamXx, Thanks for your interest in having some art from me. Email me from the web site link in this video's description.
I can't draw a straight line with a ruler but I sure love watching you! Your a so talented and make it look so easy. Please keep up with the videos and sharing your talent its amazing.
@briankchu On this pair some parts were predrawn on paper just to get an idea of layout and color. But when it actually is drawn on the sneakers, it becomes freehand as I don't lay down any pencils or any guide. In my first 2 shoes those were both freehand with no thought out ideas beforehand with only Freddy and Jason being something I had to draw to get a grip on how to draw their likeness on the LINE 2's.

@TNTX500 oh no lol. Stepping in any kind of poop can quickly be the end of the life of any sneaker. whiteboard markers were destined to bleed.

Do you design the artwork before putting pen to shoe? Or is this all on the fly off the top of your head? Either way, very impressive!
