My biggest problem with spiderman game is that the fact that they try to make people from the x-men like wolverine and juggernaut look weak. Lol which they aren't.

@MrCitrin3 Dont forget the first 1/3 of the game was Luke Cage teaching Spider-man how to fight that was so pointless, plus taking 40 snipers with the same move. 2/3 of the game nonsense kingpin robot drills on buildings and 4 hit "you just defeat the boss" battles. I had never felt so disapointed with a Spider-man game, specially with symbiotes invading NY, just to have the most repetitive final boss ever, web swing 12 times to the giant venom heads. Good choice not getting WoS.

My verdict was 7. Even on Wii, this game had good graphics, audio, and play. It (Wii) made use of Amazing and Ultimate's low graphics more, as they're cartoon styles are easier for it. But opposite goes for XBox 360 and Playstation 3's high graphics, making use of them to create a more realistic 2099 and Noir. The one thing I missed most is the lack of Open World. Hint, Beenox, for Edge of Time.

@tjtarr2 They didn't base it off of that at all. Look at the mechanics of it. In SM1 for the PSX, the stealth was to avoid danger and complete the mission.
In Spider-Man Noir, you almost have to stealth take-down every enemy or else you'll fail the current objective or prevent further progression. Plus the whole, "Hide on a perch in the shadows." was literally one of the core aspects of gameplay from Batman Arkham Asylum.
Go and play that game even once, and tell me different.

wow I saw this game at a gamestop and didn't think much of it, but now that I seen it in action I think its really, really, really awesome. Looks really great espically with the different styles of game play for each spider-man and graphics too. I think great job on this spider-man game.

what kind of review is this? I mean I watched all other reviews on this game and they all say the same shit I felt when I played this game... the frustrating camera.. especially on the noir stages. I ain't hating.. I actually enjoyed this game, it was fun and I beat it already on all levels hard... but a lot of times the camera angles made me so mad. Dont tell me that I suck so the camera was a problem for me cause majority of the people had their quibs about it.
Agreed this game was supposed to remain linear. But it'd be cool if there was free roam. Cause You would have the classic spider man free roam like on spider man 2. And the 2099 universe were it'd be almost like two different worlds the ground and the sky and hopping on to hover crafts and swinging off of them and and jumping off of massive sky scrapers were transportation actually takes a little skill. The noir universe would be like traveling batman or like infamous style.
i should also mention my favorite spider man is noir i like him cause he is voiced by josh keaton which was the voice of spidey in the show that was on fox kids and is on disney xd now also chazkm

Hey man, I love your review of this game. I also thought it was awesome and pretty every game reviewer gave this a high score review too, but you were so much more in-depth. But did you see Gametrailers review of the game, they tore it too pieces and only talked about the the very very few bad parts and did not talk about the many awesome parts of the game.
I had a feeling there's something different w/ Juggernaut Trailer & Gameplay face punched: 6:21, 6:22 and 6:24. He was part of the Capcom license Activision and Marvel, let them re-used again for the MvC3. So, the fans will be happy to see him in TGS gameplay.
Seems like you have supporters and haters, but none in between. I have always taken good avice from you when buying. I can't wait for "YOU" to get ahold of Vanquish, Enslaved and Dead Rising 2. I am on the fence with these games. They look interesting, but I have concerns. Especially with Dead Rising 2. I bought this the day it came out and I love it. There were a few times I actually caught myself laughing at the jokes. Mostly by Amazing Spider-Man. He was funny as hell.

Web of Shadows was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo repetitive. But it brought back the Spidey jokes, even though his voice was annoying. I missed those Spidey jokes. :/
I will check this out. But I wish they had made the whole game take place in the amazing spider-man universe. Just looks the most fun, graphics look the best in that one as well.

@marveldcuniverse101 You might be to young to know this but capcom use to make licensed games outside of it's crossover franchise. It made a couple great marvel games such as children of the atom and Punisher as well as Disney's ducktales1 & 2 back in the day. At this point I believe anybody could do a better spider-man game than activision.

@UltimateChance i know it's 10 months old but i do feel like spider-man was made for free roam i played every spidey game since the ps1 games and i feel spidey is about going around town fighting crime... but i think they should work on making it so the main story takes place inside buildings and all over and not just the city :P i guess now with the edge of time we won't see a free roam spidey game till the new movie comes out :(

The story was worse than web of shadows.
The only thing that was better than that shit storm a couple years ago was the comic book vibe. Everything else was absolute bullshit.
From the Batman Ripoff, Noir to the lame and overhyped 2099.
Beenox is a weak ass developer that I'm sure were targeting 12-14 year olds.
Guess how many people are still playing this game? Maybe 20.
Incidentally, Spidey 2099 was said to have a black and red costume. FYI.

Noir, ripped off the entire stealth concept and 'Enhanced Spider-Sense' From Batman Arkham Asylum. Checkout his detective mode or just play the game.
I do in fact have every Spider-Man game since the PS1 and have yet to sell, trade or lose any of them.
The unlockables are pointless, you can get the HD versions of the concept art online, the costumes are only used for an hour at a time.
The game's faulty.

wow I saw this game at a gamestop and didn't think much of it, but now that I seen it in action I think its really, really, really awesome. Looks really great espically with the different styles of game play for each spider-man and graphics too. I think great job on this spider-man game.

i hated 2099's voice but i truly loved his diving/chase sequences in the game. i hated how they teased us with spider pig at the end, i wanted to play with spider pig.its a real good game, i just havent played it since i beat it.i am playing web of shadows and monster hunter tri tho, 1 more thing i hated noir spiderman because of the camera going bat shit when crawling on the wall

what kind of review is this? I mean I watched all other reviews on this game and they all say the same shit I felt when I played this game... the frustrating camera.. especially on the noir stages. I ain't hating.. I actually enjoyed this game, it was fun and I beat it already on all levels hard... but a lot of times the camera angles made me so mad. Dont tell me that I suck so the camera was a problem for me cause majority of the people had their quibs about it.

Amazing: standard yet awesome
2099: i have been waiting for this to make it into video game for sooooo long and i'm happy it made it into one
Noir: i find that i enjoyed this more than alot of the reviewers here but that's just me
Ultimate: at first i was dissapointed about this one, but i grown a liking to it after playing

Agreed this game was supposed to remain linear. But it'd be cool if there was free roam. Cause You would have the classic spider man free roam like on spider man 2. And the 2099 universe were it'd be almost like two different worlds the ground and the sky and hopping on to hover crafts and swinging off of them and and jumping off of massive sky scrapers were transportation actually takes a little skill. The noir universe would be like traveling batman or like infamous style.

Hey man, I love your review of this game. I also thought it was awesome and pretty every game reviewer gave this a high score review too, but you were so much more in-depth. But did you see Gametrailers review of the game, they tore it too pieces and only talked about the the very very few bad parts and did not talk about the many awesome parts of the game.

I had a feeling there's something different w/ Juggernaut Trailer & Gameplay face punched: 6:21, 6:22 and 6:24. He was part of the Capcom license Activision and Marvel, let them re-used again for the MvC3. So, the fans will be happy to see him in TGS gameplay.

Seems like you have supporters and haters, but none in between. I have always taken good avice from you when buying. I can't wait for "YOU" to get ahold of Vanquish, Enslaved and Dead Rising 2. I am on the fence with these games. They look interesting, but I have concerns. Especially with Dead Rising 2. I never played the first and it looks dope, but how does running around killing zombies in crazy ways can make an entire game? I do hope it's good! So how's the diet going Whity?

Web of Shadows was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo repetitive. But it brought back the Spidey jokes, even though his voice was annoying. I missed those Spidey jokes. :/

It made a couple great marvel games such as children of the atom and Punisher as well as Disney's ducktales1 & 2 back in the day. At this point I believe anybody could do a better spider-man game than activision.

@UltimateChance i know it's 10 months old but i do feel like spider-man was made for free roam i played every spidey game since the ps1 games and i feel spidey is about going around town fighting crime... but i think they should work on making it so the main story takes place inside buildings and all over and not just the city :P i guess now with the edge of time we won't see a free roam spidey game till the new movie comes out :(
and that sucks i wanted a comic spidey game with free roam :(
