@MegaNazna This is because of tourism... thousands of people come to Sydney every year just to watch the firework show so really, it isn't a waste of money =) Don't you agree? that's the reason why they've been having consecutive 5 million dollar fireworks shows lately... for greater amount of tourists to Sydney, plus, great for the firework industry too, more money, more employment, more money to spend thus stimulates the economy =)
