  • Flea is still king

  • holy delay man lol

  • o my - this sh*t sounds sssslicck

  • Very nice !! Well Done!!Hey.. I hear a bit Mark King!! but realy the best?

  • Mark king rip off

  • Slapping on an 8 string.

    Uagh...

  • He totally doesnt think he is the best.

Yoshihiro has a very professional attitude.

  • I wonder how hard it is to slap on an 8-stringer like that. ...He makes it look easy.

  • If your saying he's bad. Prove it that you can do it like that.

  • God of slapping? COME ON!

  • manny pacaquio playing bass!!...lol...he's havin a good time & so's the crowd..it's only rock -n-roll!!!

  • This guy is awesome. I have never seen anyone layer up their own basslines and play a lead break over them on a bass before. He makes it look so easy.

  • I wouldn't say legendary but he is good...

  • Hey Claus, can you do what this guy is doing?

    No?

If you can't say something nice then shut the hell up.

This is an amazing performance with AWESOME audience response and participation.

When you can get an audience that size, that whipped up, then you can be a legitimate critic

  • fuck, listen to that audience! they're nuts for him... vic wooten doesn't get that kinda response! (dont get me wrong i love wooten!)

    Narucho is my hero...

  • Wooten Owns this guy... Narucho uses way too many effects ... dont get me wrong hes fuckin good but wooten is far better...

  • he is a beast bass player

  • u gotta admit he rocks that funny bass

  • WHo is it? O_o

  • He is very very good. I just personally didn't enjoy the sound.

  • ClausWeiergang is an idiot. He should expand his music. there is no such thing as too many as long as it sounds good. this guy is a great bassist.

  • Legendary?... God?... I'm not so convinced. Perhaps he's just really good? He can sure engage that Korean audience though... He makes it look fun! Kudos!!!

  • waw....

  • Righteous! Great playing "chopper bass" indeed!

  • sounds like mark king

  • Hi is amazing and freak

    hi plays like louis jonhson

almost all his techniques is luis johnson's techiniques and his movements while playing is louis johnson's movements

there's a video whrere he shows his bass collection and he shows a red muisc man that was louis johnson's music man.

So, maybe he is louis johnson's friend

  • holy shit... don't know what to say except... holy shit. Shame the sound is a bit off, but still... holy shit!

  • Look at his face.

He is smiling all the video.

    He like that

    He like to play

  • My god, how have I never heard this guy before? :O

  • One man show and very fun person i really enjoy his performance!

  • WTF!

  • hell yeah ... who ever gave a sh*t about guitar solos? :D

  • Hes like Japans answer to Les Claypool. Is that an 8 string bass he has there? What make of bass is that anyway?

  • Hey Scottyrhj

An 8 string bass has the same principle as the 12 string guitar.

I don't know exactly the tuning on an 8-string bass.

It is (after what I have heard) meant to be used for chordal playing, and have a better "ring" sound out of the bass.

Personally I do find it difficult to play an 8-string, but hey everyone I do recommend to try one. It is most fun ever

  • It's an 8 string bass made by Tune. You can find them online, they have a website, but the basses themselves are very difficult to find in the USA. The 8 strings are paired, to give a full, almost chorus-like effect, like a 12 string guitar.

Tune is a great japanese bass company. If you get a chance to play one you should. They use great woods, have fantastic electronics, and are really playabel, especially if you like a fast, skinny funk neck. They make great basses.

  • Ohh, and I have played an 8-string unpaired, the neck was HUGE!!!

  • yeh good and true but he aint no Dave Slave!

  • He aint no Dave Slave, because he is better then Dave Slave, :P

  • Comment removed

  • dude , this shorty really has it going on!!

  • You really gotta respect the Japanese these days. They accomplish everything.

  • WONDERFUL!

Man, he really rock with his bass.

Ohhhh i wish play like he ;(

  • what kind of bass is that?

  • ive only heard this from someone so im not sure if im explaining right. he custom designed the bass to have ?harnomic? strings with the normal strings so it sounds more full. so 8 string :D

  • 10x :D

  • Funny Asian Guy ^^

  • A japanese smiling? It must be some Karaoke festival

  • reminds me of a japanese mark king ^^

  • What a fuckin' great solo! (^_^) Bass rulez!

  • I prefer Wooten... regardless, this guy is extraordinarily talented.

  • I think this guy is confused. He doesnt know if he's a bassist or a lead guitarist. Haha

  • kick bum

  • that's just part of the show...

  • attitude has nothing to do with playing ability friend, if you've got it you may as well show it off

  • that's just my point of view as a musician. Yes he is good technically. in fact very good. But as a musician as a whole, I don't believe so. showing it to people is indeed different to showing off to people. He's really good but not the best. :)

  • To me it just seems like he is performing like any other musician, playing good music, and loving what he is playing. It does not seem like showing off at all. If this is showing off, than playing music in generaly must be showing off.

  • well that's your point of view. different from mine. I do believe he does love his music & I agree he does play good music. I didn't say anything about his music being bad. What I was pointing out was his attitude on "how" he played. You might not have seen it but that's what I saw. This doesn't make him a bad bassist. I'm just saying he isn't the best. his bass solo doesn't generalize music. There are other great bass solos out there and it would still be just a partial of what music really is.

  • Ohh, no, I understood what you said. I did not mean to assume anything about your liking or disliking his music.

I totally agree that he is not the best. I understand what you are saying, I just don't see the attitude you are talking about.

  • I was talking on his attitude on how he played the bass. I mean like he just wanted to show his talent and how good he plays his bass rather than his music itself. Pretty much, that's what not-so-keen listeners or watchers experienced, at least to my observation. But tehcnically, he is really really good. Not just the best

  • he has a sick talent and is showing it to people...hes not being unhumble...if thats a word

  • just my opinion but I think this guy puts Vic Wooten to shame.

  • That's quite a bold thing to say haha

At both their levels it's hard for me to say what defines "better"

  • Crazy! and from a Japanese bass player taking da funk to it!

when you're the Best you put your heart & soul into it-theres no half way....Naruse lives it.

    TOTALLY INSANE!!! I LUV IT!!!!

  • Holy shit, an 8-string! This guy has got CHOPS!

  • is that an 8-string? why am i seeing only 4? and why is the neck too thin?

  • they have guitar strings on it as well, to get other octaves. the bassist for cheap trick uses basses like that alot.

  • Well, really, they are not guitar strings, as guitar strings are too short. They are just like the strings in a 12 string guitar. They are strung in pairs, each large string with a smaller string, which are tuned slightly off. This creates a fuller sound, and also a natural chorus effect.

  • is it only me staying up far too long or is this guy playing a 8 string..man this is sick!

  • i wanna se duel victor wooten

  • I'd wanna see him and Les Claypool face-off or do a duet

  • Some licks and grooves sound like Mark King.

  • what is this bass????

  • tune bass

  • Jaco and a whammy bar?! Um... no.

  • No offense to any extreme fans who jerk off to this guy. I will admit he is good but this solo live sounds like a toddler smacking pans together and giggling in the background, and if you say he is a God than pleace tell me what Victor Wooten, Marcus Miller, Larry Graham, Mark King, Jeff Berlin, Billy Sheehan, Vail Johnson Les Claypool and Bootsy Collins are and yes I know some of these arn't bass players who use the slap technique.

  • "sounds like a toddler smacking pans together and giggling in the background"

    C'mon, admit it. You're exaggerating a bit.

  • No in my opinion what I said is exactaly what his music sounds like live, but if you put him in a recording studio where he can do every little mistake over and over it sounds good.

  • In all fairness, have you listened to anything else he's played, with Casiopea or other? Yes, the folks you've listed are excellent in their own right, and yes, of course he's playing to the audience.... That's why he's there(!).

He's got chops. Might not be your fave, but still. I play bass, have been for a few years, and I'd like to have his proficiency. I try to practice every day. Do you play? And really, "jerk off"? Do we have to start in the toilet to discuss someone's merits?

  • Like I said,"No offense to any extreme fans who jerk off to this guy." but he sounds awful live I never said he couldn't play bass, and yes I know he is playing to the fans but at least he could try and sound a little better. Also yes I do play bass, and also big whoop if you played bass a couple years how many of them did you take lessons. Most people don't do to good learning bass by themself.

  • I've been a professional musician/educator for many years (trumpet & trombone). I played bass in a band in my youth & recently picked it up again; I DO know my way around a concert hall, thanks. I'm taking lessons from a very accomplished guitarist/bassist to unlearn some bad habits & polish my technique. Again, have you listened to his other stuff here on YouTube? (Audio online isn't always good.) What do you think about Casiopea's other bassist? I try to learn something from everyone, do you?

  • Yes I have listened to his other stuff from Casiopea's and I will agree he is good I never said he wasn't good. I did phrase it wrong in saying his solo's live sound like crap only this one does. Although my point was he isn't a god of slap as there are people out there better than him.

  • Agreed.

    Play on!

  • fucking fan-kids..... he´s freakin good and also better than all of you i guess, so could u just shut the hell up?!

  • damn is diz guy really the best bassist????

  • This video goes to show that you can be the most technical player but come up with the most boring shit.

  • this comment goes to show you that guitarguy333 is a really fucking stupid piece of shit

  • hahaha, how mature

  • I agree. Technically he's fucking amazing, but then he just alternates between trying to sound like Jaco and Mark King

  • Jaco?! Just where in the hell do you hear Jaco's inspiration in this?

Personally I think he's playing the bass solely for the entertainment of a crowd of non-bass-players. He's got a lot of showman-ship and plays to the crowd very well. His goal is achieved. He probably has a car much better than my '96 B2300 with no power steering or radio.

  • The opening 15 odd seconds he uses harmonics in a very Jaco esque way, in my opinion. Not that harmonics are only Jaco, but I seriously heard Haco

  • He is an absolute geezer. What a guy

  • wats his bass??

  • It looks like a Tune I think.

  • hes korean

  • Why r u guys hating like that, he's no V.W.,BUT HE GOT HIS OWN FLAVOR WHICH IS GOOD! You don't to be into somethings to respect it!

  • I dont like the strings he's using =< - he's good but not untill the drummer comes in

  • i think u should relize your dumb plus an 8 string is harder to play then ur precious guitar

  • I was being sarcastic. I don't even play guitar. I was making a campy comment about how apathetic the general public reacts to bass solos. It obviously went over your head.

  • stop sucking ur mom's dick and pick up a guitar and play one.

  • Your a fucking idiot!

  • Cats got Soul, loved this Vid! cause I cant slap worth a d..., lol and been playing over twentyfive!

  • That's really good show! Amazing

  • that actually made me laugh a little just cause it was so fun to watch. they can really put on a show, those two dudes. (is that drummer akira something? he looks vaguely familiar) anyway, that was really cool.

  • Yeah! you are damn right he is the legendary AKIRA JIMBO!

  • he truly is the god of slapping

  • OMG this is amayzing

  • i

    like

    it

  • Good

  • that's not even musical!

  • thats debatable...

and did you even listen to the whole thing?

  • it is mostly rhythm with some notes dotted in, its not for me.

  • This guy wants to be a guitarist.

    Good slaping though!

  • Why would he want to be a guitarist when he has a perfectly good bass? ;)

  • He's for sure a great entertainer

  • he is the happiest performer ever

  • alrite...some is copying jaco pastorius the rest is just wanna be mark king

  • You know , its fun how people react when they hear a new cool bass player , they always say something like "he is copying someone like Jaco or Mark King" .

  • That's because in the end, everyone are ;-)

Unless they're doing something unique and/or new like say Matt Garrison..

  • nightmares... anybody?

  • Ok, I was entertained, but he kinda lost me at the end...

  • yeh hes good but no way does he earn the title God of slapping...Victor Wooten could take him on anyday

  • WoW! how can he do that?

  • What I want to know is, who are the asses not giving this video 5 stars?

  • The "asses" not giving this video 5 stars have seen and heard of Victor Wooten, Stu Hamm, and Jaco.

  • Seen and heard of all of them, and yes they are great, Victor Wooten, is a personal fave, but I don't think 4 stars is fair for a bassist of this quality (Vics vids get 4 stars too by the way)

  • No way is yoshihiro better than tetsuo. For all you who didnt know, casiopea is a japanease funk band who have 2 bassists, this guy, and Tetsuo sakurai. for all intensive purposes, Yoshihiro is the backing bassist, tetsuo is a much better player

although, this is fairly impressive :p

  • Sweet Jesus.

  • this guy is hot and this comes from a bassist of 40 yrs I play a Carvin through a processor with this sound at my finger tips

  • Nice Tune bass, Ive played one myself and they play and sound great and its very easy to get the tone in the video from one.

Although this guys style is horrible.

  • Is there anything Asians can't do? This guy is amazing!

  • oh my god thats hardcore^^

  • nice tremolo on a bass :D

  • esto nos demuestra que cuando se acaban todas las posibilidades en la musica no queda mas remedio que hacer ruido y volverse loco¡¡¡

  • damn that guy is amzing

  • Good video, good crowd pleaser. Definitely knows his way around the instrument. God of slapping?? Hardly...some of his technique gets sloppy at higher speeds. Bill Dickens could liquify that guy

  • I'll agree there bill dickens is the man! only person ever to make victor wooten say "wish I could play like that"

  • Ce mec est génial !!

  • i think if ur THAT good u can show off and hes THAT good

  • i just went and punched my bass with my amp all the way up.. IM AS GOOD AS HIM, nah that was great : )

  • Increible..

The way he manipulates the audience is the eye catcher here..

  • Asian ppl are amzing :D But very offen in a hyperactive way.

  • F**k the man is good^^

  • that thing he does at 5:05 gives me nightmares

  • This guy is pretty amazing..

  • i seroiusly dont care what people say, hes good

  • complete show-off, nothing else

  • you have to be good to show off

    and he is

  • then ur completely jealous

  • how

  • Why does he have to have "inhuman" or "Godly" skill in order to recieve a compliment? The dude is better than any of you, I'm sure. I'm a bassist and have been for years now, and he's better than me, by far. You people are overly critical... = /

  • 70% skill 30% equipment 100% showmanship that's what you call giving it 200%

  • It's not conceit, it's part of the show. I do agree, though, it's not quite as tasteful as I expected. He's got great technique, but nothing inhuman. If you want insane slapping, look up Victor Wooten, or Stanley Clarke, even Steward Hamm (not sure on the spelling for that last one).

  • cliff pwns him...

  • Tiresome, indeed. He's got lots of chops, but very little taste. Lots of "flash", but not much musicality. To me, he comes across as being very conceited; just wankin' on his bass. He should have ended this solo after the multi-track riff routine.

  • those people who think flea is better than narucho are stupid idiots i mean really....those who think flea invented slap bass are even more stupid. jus posers who dun noe anything about music

  • SLAPPIN' AZZ BASSIES R GAY AZ FUCK MAN

  • hese cooler then less, less is borring

  • Reminds me of a Japanese mark king

  • does he play in any band?

  • shut up all u narucho haters!!! narucho is fucking king!!!

  • lmao this video was hilarious, not an amazing bassist but what a preformer... 100% stage presance lol!

  • although i respect and love flea he is in no way the "granddaddy of funk." You wanna check out the real masters? Louis johnson and Larry Graham were both slapping and popping while FLEA was in diapers. However, flea still rocks!

  • nah he dont, not compares the the classics like Larry Graham, Stanely Clarke and Louis Johnson. but i just dont like him and his style i think hes over rated. but thats jsut my opinion.

  • how could you compare them to narucho? they play funk he doesnt in a sense...Larry Graham, Stanely Clarke and Louis Johnson are good but they are talked about way to much and u can consider then overrated

  • I said flea is overrated not narucho, he is amazing. i beleve flea is overrated.

  • true true

  • overrated.....,hardly any people even know of the jap dude

  • Exactly, because he is under rated. flea gets more fame and publicity than he diserves

  • no shit man, BIG TIME.

He really isnt that good, and his theory is HORRIBLE.

  • This guy is good, but the real god of bass is Flea. Hes the Granddaddy of funk. He was slapping and popping our pants of when this guys was still wearing diapers.

  • Are you kidding me? Flea is 44, this guy is like 56.

  • My bad, he looks way younger. I take it back.

IMO Flea is still better though... :)

  • Anyone that says that this guys doesn't respect the origins of funk bass is completely clueless. Victor Wooten does this thing too, alot of over lapping samples and back in the day the grandaddy of funk bass Larry Graham used distortion to beef up his sound so dont you people tell me this guys doesnt respect or cant play funk.

  • come on that was crap, slapping should ba about the funk, where was the funk in that?? flea could bitch slap this guy back to the stone age

  • mamastrofico
