Dude i hit 143.8 dB from this one alone. So if you have space go for the 3...these badboys need min 2.5 cu.ft each!! (min) if you dont have space go for 2 and build a biggeer custom box.

nooooooo. if your looking for bang go with fi car audio, ascendant car audio, or dc car audio. Yes they are 150-600 dollars more expensive. But they sound wayyyy better and are a good 2000 watts more powerful.

since the video the following mods had been done: Kenwood DNX 7200 double DIN Hertz Space 6.5" components Pheonix Gold Ti500.4 (to components) Orion D5000.1 to Sub More dynamat. System was RTA'd car was lowered..and thicker tires put on to cover that gap won first prise in sound comp of 20 cars (armature) with 143.8dB!! the guys did say if i get a custom box i could easily get 145+ dB im not proud of owning a French car, but i get 50 MPG!! so suck on that!!lol but now i have sold all my gear

if you are going to overpower the subs go with a sealed. ported boxes are louder but they dont take much power

id take ported over sealed any day. if you have a good sub that can take overpowernent then why put it in a sealed where it wont go as loud. if your box is tuned to 34-38hz than its gana hit hard and low... i gained about 5db from going from a pre-fab to a custom box i built thats tuned to 36hz.

yeh i dont understand why MTX recomends 2.5 cuft box, it just seems to small. i stil havent figured out if i want to do ported or sealed cuz my amp over powers it a little wich u shud do sealed wen overpowering so it dont blow. and also facing it to the back of the car. the trunk rattles like crazy now and its not even facing back.

well regardless at the optimum power for the sub...we're lookinga t 1000WRMS, even if you put the sub IN the car, it will shake the boot!!! My glass roof shakes like crazy!!

you WILL have to dynamat the boot and majority of the car!! extra expence, but its worth it. Only think that rattles on my car is the exhaust - but not too bad.

Ported tuned boxes wil give you more bass, but Sealed boxes you will reserve room. so choice is yours really.

position of the sub depends on you, if you think facing it inwards sounds better, then that it. But majority of subs are faced towards the boot.

It couls probably sound better/louder if the box was bigger.....probably could fit a 3 cu.ft box in there
