  • Do you know where i can find the lyrics to this album?

  • he seems like he's trying very hard to word this review well

I'll still have to listen to the album.

  • snowflakes

  • Way off topic, I have that flannel.

  • @nickers18

  • Dragged Into Sunlight Shirts are now available in sizes S - XL @

fallenempirestore(dot)bigcartel(dot)com along with a small distro update. $22ppd in the USA, $25ppd to Canada/Mexico

  • There is deff no doom, you want doom listen to the sword

  • @KillMagnetic Umm... slow metal = doom. There are slow parts. The Sword is hipsterfag stoner rock.

  • @dubya68 DIS is hipster fag metal. DWI.

  • @Sunnavend Trollolol.

  • @dubya68 Umm no, you really dont know fucking music at all. The sword is fucking awesome and kickass doom by genre not speed. Some parts dragged is doom in there song but not much

  • @KillMagnetic Trollulzy

  • get to see these guys at Maryland Deathfest next year, stoked for that!

  • @spankybee

I hope I can come up with $1000 to fly out there next may.

  • @spankybee saw them on saturday at damnation festival in the UK you will NOT be disappointed!

  • @shaunbag Their sound was spectacular but I hate the aesthetics. They shrouded themselves in far too much smoke and the identity concealing is very pretentious and weak.

  • @Sunnavend the concealing is for professional reasons regarding their day jobs not as a gimmick.

  • Copies of the LP available on black & white wax @ Fallen Empire on Big Cartel

  • @FallenEmpire13

I must get one. Thanks for the heads up.

  • the samples are from Travis Maury and Charles Manson, btw. maybe others too.

  • Crusty Craft... Crunchy.. Crackers..

  • I guess take a taste at this album. Though I've never liked anything that could be labeled "blackened."

  • Hey @JGCSOUND do you know what happened to a band called "Minus" they did kind of math metal kind of stuff?

  • For the record, I'm pretty sure the Prosthetic Records release is only in the UK.

Also, @BryanEKS89: So glad you mentioned Gaza.

  • @outofstep23x Nope its international the singer told me.

  • I was reminded of a more metal version of Gaza.

  • funny someone mentioned Dragged into Sunlight with Portal..cause thats what i thought of when i heard both..different..but similiar in the idea and execution. The only bands i know that are as angry is Negative Approach/Laughing Hyenas, Eyehategod, Entombed...love it.

  • Since Dragged Into Sunlight is about to tour with Rwake, maybe you could review some of Rwake's material?

  • this is one of my favourite reviews of my favourite albums EVER, 'macabre ugliness' 'void' 'crusty craft', i flew into the UK and caught them in 2010, word of warning, it is the best live show i have ever seen bar none, raw, genuine and truly believable, a straight to the bone passion for extremity, there was mention that they intended to ship an entire backline of amps out to the states just to tour, that's dedication to the cause and i have to say, prosthetic have gone up in my estimation.

  • This band is sooooo AWESOME!!! It's time for them to tour the US!!

  • This album is so good. The first time I listened to this band was alot like the first time I listened to Portal... completely blown away. Everything just works, even the things that shouldn't. Awesome review bud.

  • @CreativeEnergy666

I felt the same way. thanks bro.

  • they've got a new album coming out, right? i'm yet to hear a full track from it.

  • @theneedledrop

I read that the follow up to HFM is coming out sometine this year as well. If you know where I can peep out a snippet from it PLEASE PLEASE let a brotha know.

  • @JGCSOUND I can imagine its a very much behind closed doors affair if they are recording, we wouldnt know about it until its done and about to come out.

  • I fucking love this band. If they had more clarity, it would be the best fucking thing ever. But another part of me loves the wall of bass.

  • @Beenyad

I know what your sayin but too much clarity might just ruin it for me. That wall of bass screams your not welcome here. Ya know? Makes me want to listen even more.

  • @JGCSOUND Yeah that's what I was thinking. My metal roots are in sludge/doom so I'm usually used to this thing. Seeing it in Death Metal is really fresh though. This is probably one of my favorite bands now.

  • @Beenyad The wall of bass is the influence of old earache/peaceville grind and sludge on DIS's music, I love the way the reference the history of uk extreme metal whilst looking forward at the same time.

  • DIS and Cobalt are my two favriote bands at the moment and both are mining from the neurosis influenced black metal well.

  • @lewisb187

DIS and Cobalt, nice! The BM/Neurosis well is where its at.

  • DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT, these guys are the future of everything negative. It's like having a tooth extracted with pliers. Faster, heavier, louder, fuck me, it's the perfect kill.

  • @miseryforever1

Tooth with pliers! Perfect kill! nice bro. These guys are way ahead of the pack musically.

  • @JGCSOUND Can u review a bolt thrower track or the album Leveling the Plane of Existence by Abysmal Dawn? I love your reviews. Keep up the good work man.

  • Gotta check this out, seems right up my alley. Good production, a sense of unease, blackened void, hate, macabre, pissed off! Sounds like a typical day for me in the city. I'm sold. BTW, dig your channel you do some badass albums. Are you gonna review the new Vreid album, 'V'. Seems good from what I've heard, like to hear your take...

  • @mrselfdestruct23

Thanks for watching and the kind words bro. I'll see what i can do about that Vreid record.

  • @JGCSOUND Man, this album is SICK, digging it big time! Also , your channel turned me onto Portal, (Swarth has to be one of the ugliest, black atmospheric, uneasy records I have spun in a very long time) and I thank you for that, and so do all my neighbors!!!

  • @mrselfdestruct23

Haha..nice!! When you play Swarth I can picture your neighbors yelling, "Turn down Whatever the hell that racket is!" Glad your diggin' DIS man. Definately one the sickist sounding records I've heard in long time as well. Hope they roll through Sacramento sometime this year so I can witness them live.

  • @JGCSOUND Ya bro, they are on tour (Portal), their gonna be at the Boulder Theatre on March 31st, I'm going (live in Denver) so they have to be heading your way. I'm wanting a new record from them. Have all 3 and their last one, to me, was their best.

  • Artwork is brilliant. The tunes are brilliant. Hope these dudes make it to the USA soon!

  • @TheDeadDoug

I hope to see them soon so I can have my head blown.

  • This album is actually insane... I know that's a pretty cliche thing to say about a metal band, but man, this guy has hit the nail on the head... Listened to it on a Youtube playlist first, but then I had to go buy it

  • @truetillchrisroy

I'm with you man, there's something very sincere about their delivery unlike 9/10 of all metal.

  • Whoa; cool album cover artwork.

  • @subliminalduck

    I know, right?

  • They are one of the few bands where you feel you are watching a ritual not a live show.

  • @lewisb187

Hope to see them live soon.

  • I've been trying to get my hands on this record ever since i saw it in a magazine. It has all my favorite musical elements Black,Death,Sludge.Doom. Justin's art is really amazing it just captures the music, I drew one of his pieces for my art class and lets just say the teacher wouldn't accept it :p. Great review as always!! \m/

  • @MadeOvMusic

Awesome story man. Love hearin' stuff like that. Thanks bro.

  • This is going to sound weird, but I've known about the cover for a long time but didn't even know that it was for a record. Now after listening, I can say that this is fucking great!

  • @DerBertRam

I love how things come together like that.

  • Did he do the all pigs must die album? love the tyson quote, he is one of the hero of the new millenium!!

  • @drstrangeclock

Not sure about the APMD album. I'm totally hooked on Nova science.

  • I just realized that one of my Job for a Cowboy shirts was done by Justin Bartlett haha. Wow, I never knew that!

  • @CountBlagorath

Same happened to me with Justin Bartlett and my record collection.

  • @JGCSOUND I like his artwork so much, that it looks like my band Black Iris of the Sun might end up hiring him to do our album's artwork.

  • @CountBlagorath That's a really fucking cool band name dude. Seriously.

  • @Beenyad Thanks man!

  • Its about damn time it comes out here in the USA! I fuckin love this band. The name of the band alone is creepy as fuck, but when I saw the art, I about shat my pants. Then when I heard the music I was blown away. Fucked up stuff! Love it!

  • @CountBlagorath

Dragged Into Sunlight have One of the more fucked up sounds I've heard in while. Yeah man! Art and sound have he total fucked up package.

  • I've actually been meaning to check this out. Sounds like it's right up my alley.

  • @45nothings

I have No doubt you'll dig this.
